She was actually created with the ruffled headfur, but hardly anyone had drawn her that way, just as with her eyes (which are mouse eyes, only uranium-glass yellow-green, instead of black, brown or blood-red).
Original inspiration for Amy's looks was a certain fur by the fursona of "ChillyMouse".
