April sat with Lisa trying to figure out who she was. “We go to school together?” April asked.
Lisa nodded, “We did.”
“You were a freshman?”
“Yes.”
April snapped her fingers, “Are you Loner Lisa?”
Lisa blushed, “Is that what they were calling me?”
“Yeah, sorry,” April cringed a bit.
“Why would they call her Mona Lisa,” Mikey asked from across the room.
“I said Loner Lisa not Mona Lisa,” April corrected him.
“We should call her Mona Lisa,” Mikey said with a smile. “And she should date Leo,” he announced pointing to their leader.
Raph punched Mikey, “Just because Da’vinci painted the Mona Lisa does not mean those two should date.”
“What?” Mikey rubbed his shoulder. “I said they should date because they both like Space Heroes.” The smallest Turtle thought for a second, “Or she could date Don, because they’re both so smart and they can talk smart with each other.”
Raph practically growled in anger, but Mikey was oblivious. “Or she could date me! Because… we’re both short.”
“That one’s a stretch,” Raph grumbled. “Are you going to say she should date me next?”
Mikey looked at him for a second before laughing, “No.”
“Why not?” Raph glared at him.
“Cause you’re a jerk,” Mikey answered as a matter of fact. “She’s too nice.”
April sighed, “Mona Lisa’s gonna stick,” she told Lisa. “For some reason they all go along with Mikey naming mutants.”
“Cause I’m so good at it,” Mikey praised himself.
Lisa fidgeted a little, “Do you think we could go get some of my things?”
“I don’t know,” Leo thought about it. “It might be too dangerous.”
“Oh,” Lisa looked down. “I was hoping to get some of my books.”
Donnie perked up, “Now, Leo, don’t be too hasty. We are ninjas after all. I’m sure we could help her.”
Leo sighed, “Over books?”
“I would also have liked to get all of my Space Heroes things,” she added, “including my complete DVD box set.”
“I haven’t said no,” Leo crossed his arms over his plastron and Raph rolled his eyes.
“And my comics,” she sighed.
“We’ll do it,” Mikey jumped up. “Just tell us where to go.”
**
Leo Mikey and Don helped Mona Lisa collect her things with Raph standing watch. Donnie was picking through the books, some college level material, while Mikey went through the comics. “Ah, man,” he pouted. “Most of these are Space Heroes comics.” He glanced over and his eyes went wide, “Is that the newest Playbox?”
“No,” Lisa shook her head. “It’s a refurbished first generation.”
“Well it’s new to me,” Mikey announced throwing his arms up in the air. “We’re taking it.”
Leo held up a packaged action figure, “A first addition Captain Ryan action figure, still in the box! How did you get this?”
Lisa laughed, “My father liked the show, too.”
“Where is your dad?” Donnie asked as he pulled another book down to add to the pile.
“He and my mom died,” Lisa sighed. “It’s just been me and my brother for a few years now.”
“That’s really sad,” Mikey walked up to her and gave her a hug.
“Yeah,” Lisa breathed. “Now my brother has no one.”
“Promise we won’t beat him up too much next time we encounter him,” Raph joked from his perch at the window. “Maybe deliver him a message while we’re at it, if you want.”
“Thank you,” Lisa smiled.
“Speaking of your brother,” Leo said placing items in a box, “we should leave before he gets home.”
“Do you have everything you need, Lisa?” Raph asked.
She lifted a back pack and slipped her arms though the straps, “Yeah.”
“Hey, Raph, do you think you could help me with these?” Donnie asked from behind a pile of books. “Please.”
Raph rolled his eyes, “Fine, but if we get attacked I’m throwing the books at the enemy.”
Donnie looked through the pile and handed the hothead books that he wouldn’t mind losing.

They made it back to the lair without incident and the Turtles set about putting their new found treasures away. Raph dropped the books on the floor and unburdened Lisa of her bag, “Let me show you to your room so you can get settled in.”
“Does he honestly think that he has a chance,” Leo asked Donnie, who shook his head.
“Of course he does,” Mikey chimed in.
Donnie looked down at him, “You really think so?”
“Duh,” Mikey said crossing his arms over his plastron. “He knows where the room is.”
Leo groaned while Donnie face palmed. “Why did we even think that he knew what we were talking about?” Donnie said through his hand.
Raph placed the bag on the ground then without a word turned to leave. “Did you mean it?” Lisa called after him.
He turned, “What?”
“That you would take messages to my brother for me?”
Raph shrugged, “Yeah sure.”
She walked over and gave Raph a gentle kiss on the cheek causing the hothead to blush. “Thank you,” she said softly before turning to unpack her bag.
Raph walked back into the common room and when his brothers looked up at him a smirk spread across his face, “I don’t think it’s a hopeless as you think.”
