This falls into the number 3 of saddest doctor goodbyes.  It still tugged at the ol heartstrings, just not as bad as Donna's goodbye.

I can kinda see that.  Lyra tends to wind up in the background of everywhere (even Cloudsdale)  so she definitely has a desire to travel.  

But when I think of Donna, I kinda see Cheerilee.  Bad luck with guys (first time around),  sees through most pony tricks with a level head (unless drugged by a love potion), and when dealing with his more foalish behavor, she'll have the experience of being a teacher of children.

I dont beleive in the no win scenario. So what happens if we have to let ourselves be captured? Youd better start looking for another universe.
