This was an entry for mascot contest for the centroamerican sports games that will be in Veracruz, Mexico, in 2014, unfortunately was not chosen.
His name "Kao" is in totonaca, at it means "Friend" and also "Hello", he is a mexican coyote. His clothes shows the tradition of the flyers ceremony, ritual practiced in some mesoamerican cultures but that is characteristic from Papantla, Veracruz.
I haven't seen the winner, but I hope it looks really cool.

Esta fue una entrada para concursar en la mascota de los juegos centroamericanos que serán en Veracruz, México, en el 2014, desafortunadamente no fue elegida.
Su nombre "Kao" está en totonaca, y significa "Amigo" u "Hola", es un coyote mexicano. Su vestimenta muetra la tradición de la ceremonia de los voladores, ritual practicado en algunas culturas mesoamericanas, pero característico de Papantla, Veracruz.
No he visto al ganador, pero espero que hayan hecho una buena elección.
