yup me too :D I only had a box full of the same legos from various sets mixed together for many many years throughout my childhood.
I only get a new set added to the mix like once in a 3 years if i'm lucky. I didn't know how to take care of the blocks, so I just throw them all in one big used Sears drill tool box, and over time, the sharp corners of the legos scratched every surface of every block up =(
It wasnt until when I was done with college that I got a new lego set as a gift, and I'm like WOW ITS SO SHINY. And finally introduced to new and wonderful parts, which I'm currently using now. I'll share a few pics of my mechs if you are interested. All these will be the new ones. I never kept any old ones that I made back then =/

Hunchbacks are great, I love them! The only problem with them is I you ever run into me, I'll blow off there right shoulder and you just lost 78% of your weapons^^

As far as mediums go, I'd take the Conjurer (Hellhound, MW4 var.) over the S'cat. Urbies and Hunchies just weren't very maneuverable.
As far as assaults go, the Deimos had a special place in my heart. Perhaps less durable than Warhawk (Masakari) or DireWolf (Daishi), but far more maneuverable.
Most of my clan fights were done in a Summoner (Thor).

well all the clan mech's are pretty overpowered just with their weapons alone not even including the engine bonuses^^ But if you've played tabletop you'll learn how awesome Hunchies are as they are cheap in price and pack a pretty good punch.
the Video games don't really account for the price tags of the mechs unfortunately as that's where the balancing actually is (25millioin Dire vs 9million Atlas)
