I was going through some old Lego instruction I have lying around, and I stumbled upon the booklet for one of my favorite sets from the Adventures line. I'm no sure what possessed me to use them as my latest MLCAD project, but I like the results. It was a fun build, though I did have a bit of trouble discerning which shade of black and grey to use. The propeller engines were the funnest part; you would think that they would be complicated, but only 11 pieces goes into creating one. For some reason I keep wanting to repaint it orange and yellow, and christening it the "Sea Duck"...
Anyways, for the curious, this is the "5935 Island Hopper" from Lego's successful "Adventures" series. The series itself centered around an Australian adventurer/treasure hunter named "Johnny Thunder" and his team racing to save various treasures from the sinister privet collector Lord Sam Sinister. They traveled all over the world, from Egypt to South America to Asia, with various sub-themes reflecting the areas of their journeys. This particular set was part of the "Dino Island" sub-theme, and came with the "Pippin Reed" minifigure and a pteranodon.
