How do you manage to do the shading and lighting so well? :P

I just play with the eraser and blur tool on a layer, the rest is just adjusting and adding colors x3 but I'm thinking of changing my method because I want to add some colors that I can't really make with this current method, I think it will make the draws look way more interesting for the eyes :p
