Alone amidst the starless night
Of bitter winter's ruthless grip,
Where a sleeping death seems to reign
On root and branch, starving them
And in so doing slowly kill
What part of me gnaws and pines
For sustenance to feed my mind,
Thus trapped within the rusting walls
Of poet's drought in brick and stone.
So as my eyes drift empty and cold
Into this clouded gloaming void
I seek to drift beyond that shell
And find that blessed shadowed cloak
That shimmers in the light of life.
Painted gems on indigo walls
That seem to grip eternity.
I take that drifting canvas night
And set it as a pair of wings
That dance to each blooming star
Upon an earth bound sea of green
And there I stand in soft delight
To see this avatar of night
Set upon a flowering sun
As warmth returns and spring has come.
(Last pic to catch up to other sites largely yay) New Armand pic, it had been a while since I drew him, and the desire to do so always tends to come up when I'm in a mood for writing or natural things; as it happens I am in the mood for both at the moment. Made a few small changes to him, most notably his outfit...being sort of a earthy outdoorsy version of a cute boi outfit. Also changed his upward pony tail into just an upward tuft, to play off the notion that he's in a way almost an anthromorphic/gijinka cardinal. Also tossed in a random poem off the top of my head to go with the pic, which I might try to do any time I draw him (he is in a way a representation of my poetic/writers side). The butterfly there, which is a dark phase Eastern Tiger Swallowtail IE my favorite butterfly species, is also represented in the accompanying poem.
