Like Guard, I have no decent drawing of Punchy. This was the final drawing of him, one of 3 concept drawings for his "Modern" look. He has brown pants in his sprites, though, not orange. (seriously, orange? what was I thinking?)

Anyway, Punchy is Experiment 1, and is a clone of Knuckles. (which explains why he really is a straight-up recolor. As Experiment 1, I figured he should be the most basic of them all) His creation was so experimental, he somehow ended up with some of Knuckles's memories. As a result, he believes himself to be the true Master Emerald guardian, and that Knuckles has usurped his duty. Therefore, he has attempted to steal the Master Emerald "back." Over time, he has accepted Knuckles as the Master Emerald guardian on some level at least... It would seem his continued attempts at swiping the emerald are a means of "training" both of them to be the best guardians they can be... and this way, Punchy will be ready to take over from Knuckles if one day he has to. To this day, he still does not believe he is an experiment, and is quite annoyed by the nickname given to him by Rainbow, "One."
