(2006) At the time, this was probably my most ambitious drawing project to date, so I was and am rather proud of how it turned out. Here two Jedi Knights, Osarin Kel (rabbit) and Rin sel Dronathien (argothae/dragon) find themselves surrounded by five MagnaGuard droids. The danger is great enough that Osarin starts to mutter one of the greatest Star Wars clichés under his breath, but Rin quickly assures him it's no problem. Lest Osarin have the only Star Wars cliché in the image, any observant fan knows that no foray into that particular universe is complete without at least one (1) Bottomless Pit.

but theres an error in this pic, the jedi on the left has a blaster, and this is no doubt before the empire, jedi didnt use blasters, they considered them beneath them ^^ and primitive

I prefer to think of it as more of an interpretation than an 'error' myself. ;)

However, if pressed, I shall rationalise it as follows. Rin takes a slightly progressive view on things, and his personal experience has been that having a blaster around as a backup armament affords a certain adaptability that he's found to be quite desirable on some missions. He no doubt takes regular flak about this choice from his more rigid and conservative colleagues, but the sense I've gotten from the Star Wars universe is that the Jedi's disdain for projectile weapons 1) is more of a preference or tradition than a strict prohibition, and 2) has been variable both through time and from one Jedi to the next.

In the films all we're really given is nothing more solid than Obi Wan Kenobi's personal dislike of blasters (though he still willingly uses one to defeat General Greivous when it was the weapon at hand). If it's an issue that's addressed in more detail somewhere in the Expanded Universe I'd be curious to hear of it, though I've generally found this to be a quagmire of contradictions and conflicting views, too much to really tease solid answers out of in most cases.
