Or more specifically, she asked me to come up with a design for a character and she'd fill in the rest.
I did the original lines for this, while marjani tweaked some lines and did the coloring. She's cute~ :D

Her backstory as told by marjani
Name: Mimi.
Age: On the picture - teen? Most probably.
Sex: Female
Mimi acts smart and confident most of the time, as long as she is sure she is in a place she knows and she isn't in too much trouble. She's in very good relation with her small human family (2+1) - she's loved and taken good care of, everytime she wants some attention or cuddles - she usually gets some (mostly due to the fact she's small, cute and able to make her puppy dog eyes even... puppy-er. You get the point.). Mimi doesn't usually cause much trouble to her humans, if she isn't bothered by i.e. little kids, given food and some peace - she usually spends most of her time either laying by the side of one of her owners, taking long naps all day, or wandering nearby their small house.
Her owner, who's a shopkeeper in a small town, bought her from a "pseudo-breeder" on a bazaar. She was the only one left for the "breeder" to sell, and she was pretty weak and sick when her future owner couldn't take the sight of the poor puppy and bought her. Of course, he was told she would grow up to be some breed, but we all know, no pedigree = you can only guess the breed.
She was healed and given proper care, and as the time flew by, she forgot about her puppyhood trauma. She made some friends in the town (in this small town, most of the dogs can run around freely), having a completely different approach to other dogs (and cats) than to people. Towards people, she's respectful and obedient most of the time. Towards other animals - she tends to act like she's at least a bit better than they are. This attitude rather fades away with age - the more mature she becomes, the more mature her approach to other becomes.
Despite her love of long naps in warm sun (I forgot to mention - rain usually irritates her a bit, when she has to stay inside all the time), she can be pretty energetic, adventurous and curious about the world. Especially with dogs her age, she usually gets pretty playful quick. She likes making new friends and buddies and as long as they don't try to dominate her or show her they are stronger than she is - especially in her house, or near her territory - chances are, she'll be friendly and quite talkative after a longer moment of getting used to someone's presence.
The universe she lives in is a tad cartoony - the animals make some human-like gestures with their paws, but can't really use them like hands (so sort of halfway between Disney dogs and Bluth animals). Also in her universe, small pieces of clothing or small accessories given to pets is more of a sign of owners caring about their animals than just to make them look cutesy and dumb (like in real life).
About her orientation - not today, I'm too tired to think of dogs having sex and all that stuff.
