Not everything I draw is cute and fuzzy 83

I was watching Evolution the other day (the 2001 movie with David Duchovny) and got inspired to draw this guy. Also very slightly inspired by the banshees in the Avatar movie

I have no idea what to call it XD

This one is obviously male because of his showy frills, etc, which only turn a red color during mating season.
The females don't have the neck frills, tentacles on their heads, side skin flaps or the flaps on the ends of their tails.

Their entire tongue is covered in tiny "hooks", similar to what you see on cat tongues, mainly for catching and holding onto small prey. The tongue is also prehensile for this reason.
It's massive front claws are only used for locomotion. Other than that, they're completely useless.
The older the male, the longer his head tentacles, which are tipped with a very very tiny venomous barb. These are also used in defense or fighting off other males.
