Oberscharführer Kahler here is the squad leader of the Einsatzkommando attached to Spitzohr and Belzig. He's based on (and named for) actor Wolf Kahler who plays the NCO of the Einsatzkommando in The Keep. A big, well-built, blonde, blue-eyed squirrel who towers above even the fairly tall Belzig, he typifies what the SS considers a truly European (i.e. Aryan) squirrel, a true ubermensch. He is also quite similar to Belzig in his manner and world outlook: a truly hardcore Nazi and a cruel, brutish bully without an ounce of mercy or kindness in him.
