The sun is peaking out of the horizon, illuminating the neighbourhood in yellow. Birds start to sing out of the lungs, making the view even more beautiful. The day finally woke up, however, the bedroom of the young red fox was filled only with the sound of his light, small snoring.

This peace got disturbed by the slowly forming sounds of approaching steps. Each one was louder than the last, until it became quiet. That changed quickly into the knocking door.
“Tommy?”, the voice said from the other side, loud enough to hear by a living soul, but not for a sleeping fox.

The door cracked open.

An orange snout peaked out between the gap. “Tommy, wake up", the demanding voice spoke again, more harsh, matured; a father in his own fox coat.

The little fox's body shuddered, paw grabbed a small pillow and stuck it to the exposed ear, then added pressure with the whole arm. The figure chuckled.
“Take your time buddy. I'll make breakfast for ya”, father said with amusement in voice. He left the boy next.

As the door made a sound of leaving, the same Thomas's paw slid under the blanket, stopping around his loins where he scratched the furred skin.  He let out a few minor noises of pleasure and relaxation. The pillow was still on his head, so he violently shook it, making the ear invadior fall on the bed. His vision was free, he opened his eyes, instantly closing as the bright light reached his pupils, even if he was facing the wall. He tried again, reluctantly, slowly, but he finally managed to sharpen his vision. Afterwards, he brushed the blanket from his body, just to his knees, then he rolled on the edge of the bed. Still laying down, he shifted his body weight on his right to take a seat. His paws on the sides, connected to the bed, being his pillars for a moment, as he was gathering energy for the last episode of the hardest activity of the day; waking up. Whining a bit, he tried to unglue his body from the bedsheet, he raised his butt on his arms, but fell down.
“Not yet Tommy. Just a moment-”, the yawn rammed in, causing his mouth to stretch wide, showing the sharp puppy teethies this lil boy had.

As he came back to earth, he concluded that this Just A Moment sounds really good! Something stole his attention. He leaned forward to have a better look. Below him an open book was resting on the carpet flooring. He sighed.
“Damn you…”, he remembered what happened yesterday, how he fell asleep, how he felt…

His feet reached the notebook, brushing it closer himself, until it was in his reach. Tom picked it up. It was open on a random page; he didn't care. What he wanted was the last letter. He opened where he wanted, seeing his emotions on the page. The paper was weird itself.
“I…cried?”, he said, brushing over weird stains, wavy, where the remaining letters, sketched in pencil, barely loomed like a phantom of themselves. He sighed again, more emotional, shaky. His finger went lower, until it reached a name: Levi.
“I hope today you gonna tell me more…the truth…”, the words were sad, he was sad, the writing was sad. Everything was opposite to what it should be. He found a friend! On the first day in his new school! And he was sad, all because the way this friend was acting towards him was…too nice? And all those weird feelings in his tummy every time Levi is in his small, fox's mind…

*TWACK!*
The book snapped between Thomas paws.

“Pull yourself together, Anderson. You are a freaking cool boy with a nice friend, dummy”, he said to himself, aggressively, mood turned upside down. With the diary in paw, he slid down on the floor, landing gently on his knees. He lightly spun his upper body to get better access to the bed. He slipped the book under it.

Now he was ready to rock! New powers in his blood lifted his body up. Now standing, giving his parts to acclimatise to the new position, he let his lungs take abuse too, breathing slowly in and out. He was surprised how well it went! Relaxation!

Ready to go, Tom headed in a snail speed to his bathroom. Inside, he immediately came to the conclusion that a shower is not needed.
“No shower”, yes Tommy, no shower. Instead he spilled some cold ass water on his face. “GHA-AH!”, he gasped, water certainly too cold. He raised his face up. In the mirror he found himself, eyes spilt wide, barely showing the eyelids' existence. He looked at least like a scared puppy, or more extreme, a puppy that shit himself.
“E-enough…”, he stammered, turning  the water off.

It wasn't all here. His bladder felt twice as full as before he stepped into the bathroom. Next destination, the toilet, just a step on the side, so he had no problems with that. After taking a leak  Tom moved to his closet.

On the way to his clothes bank, he stopped by the bed to pick up his phone. Weather was important for him to check every morning, since what if he would only gear up in shorts and a t-shirt for a rainy day? Fortunately, if he would put those clothes on today, he wouldn't regret that, a sunny day was about to accompany him today. Smiling, happy, he skipped to his wardrobe. For today, black loose pants with a yellow t-shirt was chosen. Now, fully ready to join the society, he moved out of his room and walked down the stairs, heading towards the dining room.

His mother was standing in the kitchen, cooking some goodies for the family, father on the chair, sipping coffee while reading the newspaper. Tom joined the table, activating the older fox.

“Who do we have here?", the father asked teasingly.

The younger one looked at him. “I'm Max.." he tried to fake the voice of his sister, pulling his voice strings down. It made both parents laugh.

Vixen turned around. “How do you feel, the other Max?", she asked with a smirk.

Tom giggled a bit. “Surely better than yesterday!", the enthusiasm flowed out along with his words, breaking the character in the meantime.

“Hah! I gotcha Tommy!”, the father shouted out, cupping son's muzzle. Thomas growled and brushed father's paw off. "And that's the way to start the new day!", dad added.

Right next, the sound of cracking stairs reached Thomas' ears. He looked behind, seeing his sister stepping down. “Good morning!”, he shouted out, wagging a bit.

Max giggled. “Good morning Max and you all that aren't me!", she replied, turning parents' laughs on Thomas' face into a red tomato of embarrassment though. On the way to the seat, Max patted her brother on his black hair. “I see you're in a good morning mood, aren't you?”, she asked the house members as she sat down.

Tom nodded. “And how about you? Did you sleep well?", he smiled at her nicely.

She gazed at him meekly and sighed exhausted. “Well, it could be better, but I'm fine".

Max looked downcast. She didn't have to say it; Thomas knew it wasn't the best morning for her. He had no idea what to say to cheer her up, but he figured that if words weren't enough, actions might help; so, he sprang up and rushed over to Max, wrapping her in a tight hug. It took her by surprise, but she truly appreciated Tom's effort.

“What are you scheming here, hmm?" she asked, stroking her brother's hair.

His gaze lifted up. “I don't want you to be in a bad mood...", he said gloomily, eyebrows twisted in a similar mood.

Max giggled and booped the younger fox's nose. “I'm not in a bad mood you goofball. I just need to wake up", she half lied, this morning was a pain in the ass for her for some reason. On Thomas it worked though. His goofy face shined with a beam; it was enough to make him head back to his seat.

A moment later, their mother served a salad made of various vegetables, cheese, and a Korean-style dressing. It no longer resembled breakfast, they had been plunged into a completely different culture! Wasn't it great?
The foxes ate while listening to their parents discuss the day's plans: shopping, who would prepare dinner, and so on. Apart from the two of them, no one paid any attention, perhaps for fear of getting drawn into it all?

The little glutton ate first, threw his plate to the sink and dashed to his bathroom to brush his teeth. Afterwards, he took his backpack and headed to the living room, plopped down on the couch and like a good puppy, waited for his guardian to come. It didn't take that long for Max's presence to appear next to him; apparently she ate her meal as fast as our lil fox…
Tommy jumped from the sofa and joined his sister. They put on their shoes, said goodbye to their parents and together went out to the bus.

They reached the bus station as quickly as the last day, leaving a few minutes of waiting to be overcome. Thomas suddenly stuck to his sister's side, saying nothing, like a ninja! Max snorted softly; it felt nice. She also embraced this little fluff.
Shortly after the bus arrived and both foxes entered the vehicle, taking the same seats as they did yesterday. Tommy was allowed to sit next to the window, so he could admire the surroundings along with the accompaniment of his favourite music. He always loves this moment of the day, because it helps him relax and stay calm like a lotus flower.

The ride took a quarter of an hour.  Both exited the vehicle, standing now in front of the school fence. They stood like that for a while, as if enchanted by the view.

“Sooo, are we going to stand like statues or are we planning to move?", Max broke out from hypnosis, throwing a question mockingly.

He turned his sight at her and signed two fingers to go, like a soldier to his mate. “Let's move", it made both move.

They entered the property straight to the park the school could offer. Time wasn't rushing them this time, the building layout was more or less known for them already, so they agreed for a walk over the rest area.

It was peaceful, only the wind was slightly blowing, lifting leaves up to dance. Quite shocking knowing it's in front of a place where hundreds of furs are running, talking, being mean or just trying to survive another day there. The quiet environment was more than perfect to contemplate. Thomas stepped into his head…

His first thought was that in a moment he will meet a happy wagging husky again, which made him joyful just by thinking of it. He was glad that on his second day at the new school, someone was already waiting for his appearance.
Isn't that insane? I'm not worried, or scared. Somebody is waiting for me, maybe even now sitting at his desk in the class and is watching the door with hope to see me. Okay, maybe this is quite scary, but…nice, am I wrong? Just as you promised Tommy, be yourself…

They didn't even know when the time reached them. They had to separate already, so Max led them to the building. Both furs overcame the stairs that threw them in the heart of the school. Laughs, chatting and all different noises were overlapping, quite overwhelming, but at least not hurting. Yet, it wasn't the moment to go in own ways, Max had to take care of this goofball. “Okay, let's find your class, we don't have much time left", In fact the clock gave them 5 minutes to get where their school days were starting.

Even if it was barely a second time here, Thomas's mind already painted a map of the layout of the ground floor where all his classes were placed. “You know what?”, he brought her attention, “I can find it by myself, you don't need to waste time on me", he was courageous with his statement, standing with a waving phone and opening the class schedule, including classroom numbers.

Max gazed at him suspiciously, sniffing something in him. “Let's give it a try then", her arms crossed, taking a waiting stand.

Thomas grinned challengingly, "Watch and learn!", he said and moved to work. He took a look on his phone. “English...room 12. Great”, he read. His eyes went in search of the room. He only saw a security room with glass on his left, a wide long staircase leading on the second floor, and two doors on the sides of those stairs, left with number 14 and right with 16.

“I guess I know where to go”, he said to his sister, giving her a proud beam.

“Yhmm…where?”

Thomas pointed to the left corridor. “There! My English classroom should be there”

She didn't need to check, it was certain he was right. Thomas maybe is a small silly fox, but in his head he had a lot of oil. “I bet you are right”, she petted him.

“What are you betting?”, he grinned wide.

Max booped his nose. “This. Are you in?”.

He looked at her with squinted eyes. “No…”.

Max laughed. “You silly”, she pulled him to herself. “Be a good boy there, okay? No troublemaking?”.

Tommy nodded. “Yes, I'll be a not problematic puppy!”, he exclaimed, bursting away from sister's arms.

“I'll be going then. Have a nice day Tommy”, Max really had to go, she passed Thomas, waving paw behind.

“You too!”, Thomas shouted back, shaking paw at her.

He watched her leaving, walking towards the stairs, up them, and then disappeared somewhere. He didn't feel much, he had his back waiting for him, he was safe.

He headed to his own destination. The corridor he chose was full of furs older than him, different than him. He moved forward. The corridor, except for students, was filled with lockers on one side, and on the opposite side windows, keeping everything clear to see. His eyes detected a cut in between those lockers; he sped up.
“Damn”, he commented at the sight of the door with number 13 on. That was a good sign though. From far away he spotted a similar break in the locker wall; it gave him a boost to his feet.
“Gotcha…”, he whispered barely above his breath.

The classroom was already filled by cubs, but Tom was scanning for the special one. He was there, the beige husky was sitting on the desk, the same place as yesterday, talking with a gray wolf, his best friend. Thomas, with a genuine happiness his mouth corners curled upwards came closer to them.

“Hi!", he greeted, raising a paw.

Both other furs brought eyes on him. “Look what we have he-”, Oliver said, but the sprangling up in lightning speed husky stole his attention.

Now, Levi stood in front of the fox, with a big grin, wagging tail, looking like a kid who just got a dream gift. His paws were as is possessed, trying to launch against the fox's body, bringing his friend in close hug, but at the same time keeping away from him. He didn't know how far he could go, how Thomas would feel, how peers around would look at them.
“hI!”, Levi finally pulled himself together to speak, but the excitement clogged his throat, making it sound as if he was saying it breathlessly. On his side, Oli, covering his snout trying to silence his laugh. Levi, noticing it, gave him an ominous stare, narrowing his eyes and clenching jaw. It brushed the smile from the gray wolf face. Levi took his eyes back to the fox. To his misfortune, on Thomas the magic spell he threw on his wolf friend didn't work, fox was giggling into his paw. Levi sighed helplessly. “Shall we sit down?", he asked, face shining in pink from deep embarrassment. Tom nodded in reply and the cubs moved to their seats.

“How are you doing? Did you sleep well tonight?", Levi asked impatiently.

Thomas directed his body at him. “Surely better than yesterday. And yes, I slept well. How about you?"

“Awesome! I'm als-", he got interrupted by the bell, causing both to jump a bit. That made them both laugh. “I'm also feeling very good", he finished half laughing.

On time the teacher came, a well dressed white female wolf entered the classroom, holding a cup of something hot. She walked to the front of the class, raising her free arms and then she said in full enthusiasm: ‘Good morning class!".
The whole class, except Thomas, at once replied to her: “Good morning teacher!".

“What a lovely start to the day!”, with that she moved to her desk, preparing herself.

The attendance list came shortly. She greeted the fox when his turn came, saying something about herself, getting into a small talk with our fox about him and how he likes it here. Then the class started. The topic was about grammar, but in fact, they were just casually talking about their weekends. The little treasure was what Thomas got to know. He listened to everyone with mild interest, until Levi was allowed to speak; his full attention was put on him.

“My weekend was super cool! With friends we were biking, playing outside as well as inside, spending time in our tree house! I had so much fun!”, he told it all as if instead of blood in his veins excitement flowed. Hard to even judge him, he had reason to be such a happy boy.

For Thomas it was a wealth of knowledge about his new friend.
He likes riding a bike?
I need to buy one then…
He likes playing?
I'm good at everything related to ‘play’!
A tree house?
Freaking fear of the heights…

They didn't get to Thomas though, the bell stole the fun. Tom and Levi went out of the classroom, waiting for the 3rd cub.
“You like biking?” Tom broke the silence with the question.

“Of course I do! I just said that silly”, he wasn't wrong, but Thomas had to start the conversation somehow!

“Umm, yeah, you did, I just needed confirmation”, the fox replied sheepishly, he didn't expect the impact of his pointing out.

Levi put a paw on Thomas' shoulder. He even lightly soothed the area with a thumb. “Now you know, silly. How about you? I bet you…do like! Even love!”.

Thomas's body got rigid, heart skipped a beat, the demons came back to him, in the least expected moment. Yesterday night, this word, a single term that came out from the same mouth caused a breakdown, now the feelings returned to Thomas.

“Tommy?”

He stood there, but barely, as the ground under his feet was getting loose.

“T-Tommy you alright!?”

Vision, it changed too, was getting blurry, maybe dark? Not quite, somebody shined there; sweet, happy, energetic husky was looking straight into Thomas' eyes, worried, scared what's happening with his little fella.

Thomas shook his head. Vision cleared, the boy watching him gained more colours.
“Fine…”, he breathed in relief.

It looked weird from Levi's perspective. Firstly Thomas looked as if his soul was leaving him, and now like he was peeing after a good time of holding fluids in his bladder. “I-I think…you sure?”, he asked, confused.

Muscles came into full strength to Thomas—he could nod. “All perfectly fine!”, he exclaimed, “Will we go or gonna stay there forever?”, the question came out from his mouth, weirdly calm, as nothing just happened.

“Ughh…yeah?”, Levi's mind became a sponge, nothing was in its right place.

“Great!”, the fox twisted around, positioning towards the corridor. He started walking forward himself, in small steps.

“Yeah…I feel the same as you”, the third boy said, Oliver, talking to the husky, who stood there still with a bewildered expression, jaw floating in the air, furrowed above his eyes. “Let's catch him. We need to keep an eye on him..”, the wolf said, grabbing his friend's forearm, stepping himself forward.

What happened there you might think? Thomas had to play tough in front of Levi, he already embarrassed himself enough, why throw more wood into the bonfire? As soon as he turned around his face twisted, he cringed inside. That was awful for him. One word became a curse that hit him like a train, now he is scared of this whole love...
It must be explainable..

Two best friends eventually reached Thomas on each side. They walked through the corridor wordlessly, passing furs, another and another door. It changed when they passed the entrance area.

“Have you told your parents about yesterday? Of course you have! You were amazing!”, Oliver suddenly broke the silence between them.

Thomas snorted. “It would be hard to explain how I got this without saying anything”, he patted his battered knee.

“Does it hurt?” Levi questioned, voice caring and soft.

“Nope, not much,” he winked at the worried boy. It made Levi smile.

They stopped. Thomas took a glance on his left, seeing an open door with number 25 and written below Geography. “Here we are”, Oliver said, standing proud in front of the door, as he was closer to them.

“I'll excuse you guys. Need to pee…”, Levi announced from behind.

Thomas wanted to face him, but as he pivoted at him, Levi was already hurrying away. He looked tense, his bladder had to give him a hard time—or maybe something else made him go?

“I heard that you and Levi became friends, Congrats!" Oliver patted the fox's shoulder.

Thomas' ears flicked at this sudden touch, being focused on something else. “Emm, yes we did...He already told you?", one brow lifted as he questioned.

“Yup man, he is telling me everything" the wolf replied, accenting the last word.

Everything?
A lightbulb went on in his head. If he tells him everything, then something about the fox should also be mentioned, shouldn't it?
“Oh, that's great...If I can ask, did he say something about me specifically?" Tom cringed inside, asking like that.

Oli's lips started to stretch, forming a nice banana at the end. “Yup, he said something and I can assume, or rather be sure he really likes you"

What do you mean he really likes me?  Tommy asked in mind.
That totally didn't help the fox, in fact it created more questions in his small brain. He wanted to ask the same question as in his head, but he thought that it would sound too strange, too desperate, so instead, he tried differently. “That's great...You said before that he is telling you everything, so did he tell you what happened after you left us?" Tom shivered when he asked this. They didn't do anything special in the nurse’s office, right? Just the fact that Thomas really enjoyed Levi's presence back then, made his body act weirdly, again, stomach felt tingly.

The gray canine looked at Tom with an even bigger smile, revealing his teeth, grinning so sarcastically as if he was straight mocking him. “Yessss, I know what happened".

Thomas expected this, yet a chill washed over him, so cold. He felt warm growing on his cheeks—he looked the other way, somewhere deep into the corridor, trying to hide his bashful face. Then he detected a warm breath on his ear.

“Do you want to know why he was acting like that?", the chilling whisper spiked his ear drums. Enigmatic, kinda disturbing, but carrying gold, an answer Thomas wished to find this day.

Thomas' eyes opened wide along with his muzzle, ready to say "Yes", but then from his other side he heard; “I'm back! let's get inside".

“We'll come back to this later, Kay?” the wolf said with a smirk still holding his lips.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? - Tom yelled inside his head.
He felt like someone just stole something straight from his paws. All his questions, curiosity, dilemmas could just end, right here, on this corridor, but it just melted away, and he couldn't do anything about it. It was obvious Oli would keep his mouth shut around Levi, and Tom couldn't just ask his new friend what he thinks about him. It was like a hole without any way to get out. Torn fallen into pieces just followed both canines inside the class.

The red fox took his usual seat. Mind in a freeze-frame, still outside the classroom, living the moment again, trying to remark what Oli said, and wondering how he should understand it all.

All of the sudden Levi spoke. “Are you alright?".

Thomas put an eye on him, not fully, just a little. His friend was tilting his head slightly, looking worried and captivated. He looked…
So cute…
Tom cleared his throat a little. “Yes I-I'm alright...Why are you asking?" his voice quivered lightly.

This only made the beige canine more concerned in face. “I saw that you had a conversation with Oli during my absence. Now you seem... really pensive. What did he tell you?" he leaned closer, ears perked up.

Thomas’ heart just stopped. He started to panic, not knowing how to counter his friend's question. He couldn't just straight lie to him, but telling the truth also was out of the question. How would he react? Maybe he feels the same as the fox?

Levi looked deeply inside the classroom, starting to measure someone by his furious eyes, when he suddenly sighed heavily. “I understand. You don't need to answer that", he twisted back to his desk and straightened up.

Thomas felt devastated after realising what he had just done. He knew who Levi was devouring by his sight and that made him feel really, really bad for the young wolf. Tom wanted to repair it somehow, he had to!
“He didn't say anything. Don't be mad at him..."

Levi put an eye on the fox. His features soothed a bit, but he was still far from being this cheerful husky Thomas met a day ago. “Well, if you say so...I just don't want to see you like that anymore...", his tone was sorrowful along with his ears that fell down, tugging his whole head with them.

“I'm not sad or anything, I'm just... A bit lost in thoughts, that's all!" Tom replied, trying to cheer up his friend, even if he himself felt torn.

“Mmmh, okey...", that was all that came out from Levi, before the bell rammed in. He sat still in his chair with head still slightly dropped down, looking like he locked himself in his mind now too.

The next lesson started, this time as the door already told, geography. Same as in all other lessons, Tom got greeted when the teacher reached him on the list. The topic was about minerals under the earth, which normally the fox would be interested in listening to, but now he couldn't focus himself. Under his skull he had a war made by questions, guesses and unsure answers. That's how this 45 minutes passed for him…

The bell rang, and the kids exited the classroom. Levi and Tom went out together going to the next class, without waiting for the gray canine, Levi just walked without looking behind. Half way they didn't say a single word but then all of the sudden the beige husky stopped. He flicked his eyes on his side where he found an open door leading to some kind of library. He grasped the fox's wrist and headed there, heavily taking each step. Nobody was there, only full bookshelves, beanbags and a sofa. He walked to the wall right next to the door, let Thomas free and then shut the door. Levi took a few deep breaths, threw his backpack on the ground—what Thomas copied, though less violently. He was still standing back to Thomas, but it changed as he wheeled at his fox friend suddenly, nervously, stepped closer, taking a stand barely apart from the orange cub. He broke the silence: “We are friends now, we can tell everything to each other...".

Thomas stunned, standing like a statue, deeply scared of the actions Levi was presenting, but also curious.

“I-I think we can”, voice trembling, Thomas had no idea how to react.

Levi, getting the attention he needed, grabbed Thomas's wrists by his left paw again and raised them both up, just around his stomach. His second paw joined with spread fingers that flew to the brown fox's paw, invading it, pushing through the gaps in-between his fingers, then he made them laced. “On the last recess you said something sits in your head, so tell me now, what's bothering you, please. Maybe I can help you...", his paw tightened even more, jaw trembling as he stared at the speechless fox with his big, blue puppy eyes.

The orange canine looked down, thinking if it's a good idea to tell him about his dilemmas. Levi was the owner of them, but he would feel really uncomfortable asking him about all of his concerns. He still had in mind that Oliver might have the answers to his questions, so he decided to play it safe and maybe calm the clouds over him. He looked up at him again. “Everything is alright, Levi. I know the time will eventually help me, so don't worry about me"

The older canine wasn't satisfied with the answer at all. “Okay, I understand. I will not be coming back to this if you need...but please, I'm here for you, I'll listen, maybe advise if I'll be able, but surely help, Tommy. Okay?".

Thomas' heart melted. The way Levi spoke to him, the gentleness that soothed his soul, made his body buzz like a soda was out of this young fox’s world. It touched him. He broke the closeness their paws had, only to cling to his friend's body, squeeze him with all his might. “Th-thank you..", that's what came out from the fox’s snout, emotions poured out of him unreserved and unrestrained.

Levi nestled against him, drawing one paw on Thomas's back, drifting gently around, second paw though shifting into the black jungle he had on his head, just on the far end, so he could stroke his hair and keep him close. This funny fox just grasped him by his heart, taking all what the best that Levi has to offer. Charming husky won again, he had this fox in his warming embrace, protected, secured from anything that could hurt this little fluff.
“I…Thank you…”, he hesitated, almost breaking the bubble of mysteriousness.

Thomas didn't catch it, he focused on the warmth Levi's body was passing on him. Feeling good would be an insult to what he really felt.
“I love you…”, he said, the words came out from his snout for real, but too light, it didn't even break through the whisper.

Levi thought he heard a whimper, so he brought Thomas even closer than he already was, trapping him in his cage.

Nothing changed for the next few minutes. If the bell wouldn't finally rung, they might stay there forever, but it had to end. As the ringing sound pushed through the muffled noise of chatting furs, the boys slowly, reluctantly separated from each other. They stood in front of themselves, eyes glistening, fur around them lightly wet.

That was a moment of relief for the young fox. He didn't only get closer to somebody so important to him—he said it out loud, even if he was the only one who recorded this. Besides that, now he could fully focus on how to arrange a meeting with Oliver to finish what they had started. In mind, he saw how hard it's gonna be, knowing that Levi would never give him a break after what just happened—but at this point, for Thomas it was a matter of life and death.

They had to go. Without playing around in Romeo and Juliet, they wiped their own eyes—with their own paws this time, gave some fresh air, grabbed bags from the ground and went out on the corridor. Not many furs was left there, only a few just like our boys late to their classes. Levi in quick steps pushed forward, with a fox on his tail.

When they arrived, the teacher wasn't there yet, so they walked casually to their own desks. No talks had grown between them, just waiting for the lesson to start.

Maybe Thomas wasn't so peaceful sitting in his seat. He was scanning for the gray wolf, but couldn't find him. It didn't matter that much because here he had no chance to talk with Oliver without Levi noticing, but still, it simply looked weird.

All of the sudden the beige canine pulled out his phone—Thomas assumed he heard a vibration, but couldn't promise though. Levi after a moment of staring at the screen stood up and just headed to the exit. Tom followed him by his eyes, curious where he was going. When Levi exited the classroom in Thomas' head an alarm rang.
What if he went to talk with Oliver?

Fear gripped him and he felt a cold drop of sweat trickle down his temple. Tom had to at least know if his assumptions were true, so he jumped out of the chair and ran to the door. He peaked first on the left side of the corridor, finding nothing interesting for him, then he nervously turned his head to the right. They were there, very close—he hid himself.
“Fuck...", he said quietly. The worst of the worst scenario just happened, which devastated the little fox.

With a look of defeat and sadness, he gazed at them again, noticing something strange. Oliver had his paws on both shoulders of his best friend, telling him something. Levi on the other side was listening to him, with a happy wagging tail and open smile. It didn't look like an argument that Thomas thought was unavoidable, Oli was just explaining the situation! Tom was really grateful they weren't arguing, but he was also very curious to know what the gray canine had said, that made Levi so happy.

“Ekhm”, the harsh sound came from Thomas' back. He shuddered.
“It's very rude to eavesdrop on someone's conversations”, he recognised the voice, his math teacher—it only added heart palpitations.

“Oh, hello Tommy! And Ms.Tilman!”, enthusiastically Oliver greeted.

The old Capricorn sighed. “Into the class”, she said with low energy, pointing into the classroom.

The three boys, with a fox on the front, went into the classroom, heading straight to desks of theirs. Thomas heard something from the side. He looked there, finding Levi staring at him, suppressing his giggles into his paws. They fell down a little as the fox's green eyes detected him.
“You're silly! And you look so funny thiee-hie-hie!”.

Thomas buried his face into his own paws, turning away from the laughing boy. He felt embarrassed, twice more with a giggling husky on his side!

“Melody!”, the teacher snapped.

Levi jerked, hitting the desk leg with his knee, eliciting a painful “Ouch!” from himself.

The teacher chuckled, class followed with soft giggles. “Focus on the classes!”, she said to him directly, "If you want to take your friend on a date, then talk this out on the break!”, she added, making the class laugh.

Thomas couldn't even join the laughing party, it was about him! Levi muttered something under his nose, but Thomas' wonderful ears managed to catch one word, could[/b]. His eyes shot wide. He looked at him. His head was down, red all around it could put blush on.
H-He really said that?[\i]

“Alright, alright, enough”, the teacher said to put the students' amusement down. Shockingly, it worked almost in an instant. She must have huge respect there…

The next class was obviously math, where they were continuing the topic from the last day. Thomas, now with new things to contemplate in his mind, he could barely focus on the lesson. He was enjoying the topic, though the one in his mind was simply nicer. He was fantasizing about his first date, good food, romantic atmosphere…

*DING DING DING*
Fuck you fucking stupid bell

With interruption came the ending bell, lifting students up from their seats, and poor dreamy fox from his beautiful imagination. This time, all three canines gathered outside the classroom. It seems like everything headed back to normal, Levi was leading the way while they were talking casually, recoiling from all hot topics. Another relief for the fox?

When they reached the next class, the beige canine went inside and when Tom wanted to do the same, Oliver grabbed his right shoulder, and whispered into the fox’s ear: “If you want to know more about Levi, then on the next recess go to the park in front of the school—I bet you won't lose yourself. We will have enough time to talk and this time, no one will interrupt us, even this dumb stupid lo-ekhm-sick mongrel". Without giving a chance to reply, he moved inside the class. Tom's lips formed a huge banana, his tail was wagging uncontrollably and in his head screamed out loud "YES, LET'S GO!". His happiness was out of the scale, he literally felt blessed at this point. He heard what he wanted to hear, and was about to get more! The delighted fox just followed the wolf.

For the whole lesson Thomas was thinking about the questions that he would like to ask. The main theme was to get explanations about Levi's tender behaviours and if he is acting similarly toward his other friends. Additionally, Thomas had to ask about how Levi feels about him. He had some unpleasant thoughts though. What he feels might not be reciprocated. What then? They're gonna be good buddies and that's it? Maybe this is the right path…

Tom was counting every minute until the end of the lesson. It was surely the longest 45 minutes in his life and when the bell finally rang, he felt like a wave of excitement hit him. He quickly packed his things and dashed out of the classroom.

He ran down the front stairs and headed to the closest bench.
He sat down.
His nervousness got the better of him, forcing him to stand and pace. A minute passed, two, three, and still there was no sign of Oliver. Tom began to worry that he might have just lied to him, or that Levi had stopped him. A rock fell down his heart as he saw the gray wolf descending the stairs.
God bless you…

The wolf reached Thoams. “Hi! I'm sorry for waiting, but I had something to do" Oliver said, scratching the back of his head.

“It's ok, it wasn't that long anyway" Tom smiled, but in fact those couple of minutes were like an eternity for him.

“Well if you say so. Let's maybe sit down? They are comfy, what we need now…", he pointed at the bench.

“Ye, Sure.." Thomas replied and both furs took a seat next to each other.

“So, we were talking before the geography class, but Levi interrupted us. On last recess I talked with him, as you already saw…ehmm…and he agreed to leave us alone here"

“That's great!" Tom examined, surely too excitingly. He grew blush on his cheeks. “I-I see that there are no secrets between you two. So, how long have you known each other?", he asked to break the ice.

Oli laughed a bit. “Well…for a long time" he shook his head and clarified himself. “Most of my life, it's been 7 maybe even 8 years?", he looked one eyed on Tom.

“Well, that's a lot!" The fox replied, shocked because he hadn't known any of his friends for that long.

,,Yup it is...it helped me learn him thoroughly, same as he did me..." Oliver drowned into his memories. He had tons of them with this silly husky boy. They really know each other better than themselves! Boundaries were just a funny word for them…
A moment later he shook his head— he got back to reality. “But this is not why we met here. You have more... specific questions, right" he smirked when he said that.

Thomas looked shyly at him. “Yes, I have..."

“Alright!", he said with a small laugh in his voice. He cleaned his throat. “So, you surely noticed him... Hmmm…noticed how much he cares?"
Thomas  nodded in reply. “Well, you see, this is normal for him that he always stands for somebody”, it made Thomas' face fall, killing his tail too, “BUT! With you it is a bit different...".

Thomas' ears perked up as he heard the last word. “What do you mean by "different"?" he looked curiously at the gray canine.

“Well... Around three years ago he found a friend. It was a girl, also a fox just like you. He liked her very, very, VERY much and so do I actually. She was very friendly to everyone, which Levi learnt from her. She had a lot of fox friends which Levi met one day, and the time spent with them made him like foxes in general, the whole species. Unfortunately, she had to move to another town, which made him very, very, VERY sad. He tried to find another fox friend, but here, in OakWood there are almost no foxes."
He stopped there, placing his finger on the fox club's chest, “But you appeared!" he grinned heavily.

So he just likes foxes?
Thomas got his answer, but he was slightly confused, more disappointed though. He decided to ask the same question. “So...he likes me because I'm a fox?"

Oli grabbed Thomas by his shoulders. “Yes! BUT I observed how Levi was changing around you, and how much attention he gives you. And that's unusual for him...", he sounded intrigued.

That confused little fox. “How should I understand it?"

The wolf sat helplessly. “I don't know yet, we will see Tommy...", he sighed and got up from the bench. “We have to go, you got me empty"

“No!”, Thomas shouted out. It sounded too desperate, he hid himself in his paws.

Oliver plopped down. “What do you need, Thomas?”, he asked, playing a paw on the fox's shoulder.

The brown paws peeled off his face—he sighed. “This might sound weird but…What does he feel to me?”, he shot a glance like a puppy who asks where his mom is—that he hasn't seen for days…

The wolf's lips began stretching sideways, didn't make it to the end, he countered them, forcing them to come back, then his nose took a round, ears flinched, finishing it all with an awful amuse smile. “He feels…”, he leaned over his ear, “you are the one…”.

A bolt ran through this spine. He faced the wolf. “What do you mean!?”, he demanded an explanation.

Oliver laughed out loud. “A friend dummy!”.

Thomas rolled his eyes. “Right, a friend…”.

Oli again leaned down. “But what kind of friend?”, he asked enigmatically, more seriously. For him it was enough, he did his job in this 4D chess game. He stood up and proceeded to walk away.

Tom hopped from the bench and joined the gray canine on his side. “Why are you hiding something? I don't understand anything! I'm confused!”, he let out his frustration, being mad he only received more materials for doubts.

“Just give it time, Tommy. Rushing won't help anything. Take some chill man!”, he recommended.

Thomas growled. Now he was mad because Oliver was right, rushing never helps in anything. “Fine. You won”, he admitted to his defeat.

Thomas was half content and half not, because he gained some more information about his friend but also some new questions appeared. It all made his head boil. He felt like it was an eternal wheel, where anything he would do, will lead him to the same point. Tom really hoped that time would clarify everything…

They arrived under the next classroom with the ringing bell, so they just went straight to their seats. Levi was already in his own.

“Did you get what you wanted?", Levi threw the question before Thomas sat down.

Tom finished elevating down, made himself comfortable in his chair, then looked in the husky's direction, seeing his friend staring at him sheepishly. It warmed him. “Eemm, I think I did?" Tom smiled slightly.

Levi mirrored the smile. “That's cool, I'm happy for you", he added, softness in his voice like a fireplace on a snowy day, warming.

The teacher came. All the cubs straightened in their seats.

The female polar bear first greeted students, then slowly walked to her desk and started checking the attendance list. In contrast to other teachers she didn't greet Thomas or something. He thought that it's actually good, because he was always a bit stressed when he talked about himself. After checking the list she said loudly: “I'm reminding you all. On Thursday we have a test of the structure of the musculoskeletal system. Prepare well for this please. I don't want to see your faces on consultations"

Test? Already? How is that possible? Did I miss something?
Tom asked himself, filled with shock and confusion. It didn't make any sense to him because the year had just started, right? Anyway, it unfortunately meant he would have studied all of this on his own. Tom wasn't happy at all, but he accepted it somehow and focused on what he had in front of him.
I hate school…

The last bell rang, filling out the classroom with happy sounds of furs ready to escape from their prison. While leaving, in the door Levi joined the fox. “Can we talk?".

Tommy looked at him with one eyebrow raised up. “Ye, sure.”

They didn't go very  far, just stopped by the window in front of the class. “I observed you and I noticed how you got worried when Mis.Mari mentioned the test. What happened?" Levi moved a bit closer to Tom, looking anxiously at him.

“I just don't understand...The year has just started and we already have a test? Did I miss something?" He looked at his friend, trying to find answers on his face. He found only sweet confusion…

Levi was staring at the young fox for a couple of seconds, when it suddenly dawned on him. “Ouh, I see...".
What do you know that I don't?

"When did you move here?", Levi asked.

A tough calculation turned in Thomas' mind. “Emmm, surely more than a weak ego".

Levi looked like he was about to solve a puzzle, almost. “When you moved here, was there still a summer break at your old school?"

Tom eyed him suspiciously: ,,Yes...?".

Now the beige canine had everything that he needed to explain what was going on..”Well, you see... We actually started our school a month ago".

“How is that?"Thomas asked, shocked what he just heard.

“It seems like we are starting holidays quicker than it was in your past school" he shared his thought

Thomas nodded slightly. “It seems like it... No one even told me about this..." he disappointedly sighed.

“That sucks...", the husky said. Nothing was lost, however—in fact, it was an opportunity for something cool.
His eyes wandered to the floor, he grabbed his arm with another paw, taking the most typical shy pose he could choose. “I haven't started studying yet. Actually, I wanted to leave it all for tomorrow. So...would you like to come over to my house to study together?"

His sky blue eyes were full of hopefulness, and his face was screaming Agree, Agree, Agree. Tommy couldn't say no to him, but he wanted to tease him a little first. “Well, I don't know...".

Levi's face painted gloomy at the answer. In desperation he grabbed the fox's wrist, “I will help you with all my strength. I-It's always better to study with someone else! It will be fun...I promise...", he was slightly shaking Tom's paws with every word he spoke. In his voice panic was dancing.

He wanted it so badly—Thomas couldn't keep him in suspense any longer. “Yes, you're right, let's do it like you said".

Levi jumped high like on a pogo stick, it was happiness pulling his body upwards. As he landed, Thomas could see the beige tail was thrashing around, in all possible directions. On his lips a smile formed, banana from one ear to another. Exhilaration then  transformed into tenderness, as his body violently rushed forward, locking on his fox friend's body. “I won't let you down", he meant that, the softness that escaped his throat couldn't lie.

This sudden move made Thomas' cheeks burn to light pink, body also reacted, as it heated up like a pan after a moment on an induction cooktop. Again those feelings appeared, but this time Thomas didn't mind them, he was enjoying what he felt, being proud of everything that he had achieved.

After around 10 seconds the furs separated, Levi was the one who broke the knot. Standing in front of each other, Thomas noticed he wasn't the only one who was enjoying the hug. Levi was also flushed, ineptly trying to hide his face by looking downward—it only added to his sweetness. However, Thomas wasn't better, he also looked the other way, because of the same reasons as his beloved friend.

“S-so let's maybe go, what do you think?", the low, soft sheepish tone tugged at Levi's words.

The fox chuckled silently; hearing Levi from this adorable side was simply gold for him. ,,Yup, let's go. Lead me, please", he spoke straight to the boy.

Levi wanted to turn around, he hesitated, he wasn't complete without one thing. Again, facing the little fox brought his left paw up, open, his black pawpads in reach. “Would you like to hold my paw?”, he asked, beaming nicely.

In contrast to Levi, Thomas didn't hesitate at all; his paw shot up and paired with the offered one. “Yessss”, he hissed playfully.

The older boy squeezed a brown fox paw. “Thank you”, he said and pivoted towards the corridor.

Side by side the boys walked through the school hall like on a red carpet. None of them cared about what they looked like from others' perspective, they were just good friends, right?

Passing all those classes and students in them or outside, they finally reached the exit, main doors. Nice fresh, mildly cold breezes greeted them, as they were descending the stairs, finally landing in the park. Levi accompanied the fox until they escaped school territory. The boys faced each other.

“I hope you enjoyed the day”, Levi said.

Thomas gave a half half sign. “Could be better”.

One brow lifted up on the husky's face. “How come?”.

Thomas grinned stupidly. “Fox reasons”.

Levi rolled his eyes. “Weirdooooo”.

Tom touched him with his index finger. “Not more than you, silly”.

“I like it. One of several names of mine!”, he exclaimed. Both laughed slightly.

“Nah, I was joking. I really enjoy this day…”, he laid right paw on Levi's chest, “Especially with you”.

The boy looked down, eyelashes met his skull as his eyes went wide. The brown paw was attached to his front, he felt it, it was nice. “Hee-he…”, he let out an awkward, shy laugh. His own paw woke up, joining the intruder on top of him. “A-and I liked spending time with you, Tommy”, he could swear there was a race going on inside his chest.

Thomas gently slid his paw out from the clench. “I hope you did..”, with that he moved around Levi. “See ya tomorrow, Silly Levi”, he added.

“Se ya, Silly Tommy”, he said back. Levi didn't do anything, just watched his friend leaving, admiring his unique presence, the tiny steps he was taking, his bushy tail that he wished he could play with one day. “I love you too, Tommy…”.

*********

The bus arrived a few minutes later. Thomas, not breaking his routine, took the closest seat possible, pulled out his phone with earphones, and let himself relax; without any worries.

As he reached his stop he got out of the vehicle and headed to his house. Again, he was abandoned, so the red fox had an hour, maybe two for himself. Thomas actually wanted his parents right now; going to Levi's house was at stake, his normal friend. Even if Thomas agreed he would come over, he still had to ask them. It was just a formality, because it was obvious that they would consent, but besides that, he had to plan this whole thing with them; contacts to Levi's parents, how he would come back etc. Tom also needed an explanation as to why he had learned about such important matters—like the fact that he would be thrown into a school year already underway—from his peers rather than from them. This really touched his heart…

Tommy ended up in his room, chilling around, watching some shit on his phone. It changed when he suddenly heard the front door being opened. Unlike yesterday, Tom didn't run to it; he remained calm. A few minutes passed and the sound of cracking stairs came to the cub, which ended by his door.

The door slowly opened

Through it, an orange muzzle peaked out, looking around the room. Then the whole head popped out, almost immediately making eye contact with Thomas, who was sitting by his desk, in the far left corner of the room.

“Hi! I came back", Max said, waving her paw in greeting.
“Yup, I can see-", Thomas sprang on his feet, nearly knocking the chair up. He rushed towards his sister, breaking against her body, then he locked her in his embrace.
Max hugged her brother back. “Looks like somebody was missing me, weren't you?", she said in a nice warming tone.
Thomas looked at her with one eye closed. “Well…maybe a bit", he returned to snuggling her.
The young vixen put her paw on Thomas' hair, starting to stroke it lightly just like he loves. “So, how was your day, Tommy?", she questioned.
The visibly delighted boy didn't flinch, his eyes resembled shut, though his mouth spread to speak. “It was good. How about you?".
“Same for me" she replied shortly. With a last pat on his head, she let him free from her cage.
Thomas stepped away a little.
“I came to tell you that parents are nearby, so they should be here in a moment"
“Oh…Thank you!" he smiled, his tail wagged too.
“Sure thing”, she booped his nose, “Be in my room if you need something”, she added and pivoted towards the corridor.
“Oki!”, Tom exclaimed before closing the door.

Max wasn't lying, saying parents are gonna be here shortly. After around 10 minutes the makers, with grocery bags in their paws, entered the house. This time, Thomas ran out his room, down the stairs and straight in front of them; all for greeting.

“Heyo!”, he waved to them.

“Oh-heh Tommy-”, the panting mother replied as she was wrestling with her shoelaces.

Thomas noticed the bags with goodies. “Can I help ya with that?”, he pointed at one of three, standing by the wall on his left, next to his father who was waiting for the vixen to finally put shoes off.

“If you are strong enough…”, the father teased.

On Thomas’ face formed a challenge. “Watch this”, he came closer to the bag. His paws gripped the handles firmly, to be sure he had full control.
He began pulling up.
“Nnnmngggghhhh!”, he sounded out, trying with all his might to deadlift the weight. His body trembling, teeth clenched, sweat running down his temple! The efforts were rewarded, he managed to straighten his posture, but that was all for him, moving was out of the question. Trying as gently as possible, Thomas lowered the bag down, until it touched the ground.
“Gha…these…there”, he panted.

Above him his parents were chuckling. “That's your record, Tommy!”, his father cheered.

“Di-did you buy freaking stones-AGAIN!?”, the angry fox cub shouted out.

His parents laughed hard.

“Oh my…you are so adorable”, the mother said, wiping the tears of laughter.

Thomas stared at her deadly, annoyed.

“Lemme help ya-”, Dad picked up all three bags, as if they weighed nothing.

“Grrrr…”, Thomas growled, even more fed up.

“What? I'm older, I'm stronger.”, he added, walking towards the kitchen.

“SCHOES!”, Thomas railed.

The father sighed. “You are right…”, he agreed, put the bags back down and walked to the shoe pad where he in an express way freed his paws. He headed back for the goodies, but stopped next to his son. “Meanieee”, he moved to the bags.

Thomas just stood there, smirking mischievously, watching his father step away, until he disappeared behind the wall.

“Come here, chief. You are gonna be ACTUALLY useful!”, the older canine shouted.

The cub chuckled and just followed his father's proposal.

Thomas, as he wanted from the beginning, helped his parents with the groceries. The bag he was struggling with so much was filled with water bottles and some cans.

“We have free tap water grrr…”, he grumbled to himself.
Besides unpacking goodies, the foxes were talking casually. Tom could ask his questions, but he decided to wait for lunch, because his mother told him she was going to start preparing a meal right away. She gave a deadline to an hour from now, so the cub headed back to his room.

An hour later, the mother called everybody and the family gathered in the dining room. Everyone took their seats, with an already waiting meal for them.

“So, Tommy, would you like to share with us how your day was?", the oldest fox asked, spearing one of the potatoes with his fork.

Tom nodded. “Well, sure. One moment-" he cleared his throat,  “Today wasn't any special day. I haven't received any grades, I didn't find any new friends, but I was hanging out with Levi. I really like him and it seems he does me too.", this completely normal confession made his cheeks burn. Now it was time for his question. “But, there is one thing that I want to talk about with you, both" he looked directly at each of his parents.
It sounded concerning for them.

“Yes? What's the matter?", the mother spoke for both.

“Ummm, My last class was biology, and the teacher said that there will be a test on Thursday, which seemed strange to me. After that class I talked with Levi and he told me that they started school a month ago. Shouldn't I know about it?", he said it in a confused but also a little irritated tone.

His mom looked angrily at the older fox. “Joel...?", she stretched out, face giving a sign of building anger in her.

The father's paws raised upwards, finding each other in front of him, at eye level, hiding his face mostly. From the side, it looked like he was praying.

“Oh my....", an annoyed vixen said, her paws fell on the table, without force, yet.
“You had one job, one job, Joel… ONE!” she screamed at the top of her lungs, making the other furry ones jump—including the children, who actually started to giggle as their mother laid a guilt trip on their father.

“Arrh, y-you know what?", Joel snapped at her. He wanted to counter her, really really badly, but he knew she was right. He was responsible for settling all matters concerning the school after arriving here. He sighed in helplessness and looked apologetically at her. “You are right..".
His sight turned to the kids. “I'm really sorry for forgetting to tell you about this... important fact...", he directed to them.

The young foxes looked at each other, both gave a nod, then Tom turned to his father. “It's OK dad".

“It wouldn't change that much for me, so I'm fine too", Max added.

The father breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this, but when he gazed at the older vixen, he noticed that she still had a hostile face.

She took a big breath. “You are lucky to have such good kids...".

“I've no doubt about that…", Joel replied, taking a sip of water.

Tom still had the question to ask. “There is one more thing".
It took the attention of others. “Levi invited me to his house tomorrow to study together for this test. Can I go?"

“Yes, you can!" His dad shouted out.

The mother gazed at him, with narrowed eyes. “You better stay silent!", she snapped.

His eyes dove down, a whimper escaped his snout. “Okay, sorry...", he said under his breath.

Then the mother turned to Thomas. “Of course you can! That's awesome of him!", soft, affectionate, sweet, her tone had changed 180°.

“Thank you! Both!" Tom replied happily. His eyes wandered towards his sister. “And you? How about your day?".

She swallowed a piece of food that she just took with a quite loud *gulp*.
“Well, me hmmm…it was surely better than yesterday. There is one girl that I was hanging out with, nothing special, but at least I could talk about everything and nothing. Also there was a boy that was constantly trying to bring my attention to himself, which was kinda funny." she said with a smirk. “I also noticed one thing…", she looked at a younger fox, “Did you see any other foxes in school, Tommy?”.

Tom entered his head. He was trying his best to find anything, but the only one he remembered was his chemistry teacher, a white fox, probably an arctic fox. “Emmm, I don't think so", he summed.

She nodded certainly. “Exactly. I found only three on my floor. I don't know if it is good or not, but what I know for sure is that I feel eyes on me. It's such a strange feeling...", she headed back to her meal with a mix of feelings on her face.

Thomas remembered his conversation with Oliver. He said that there are a few foxes in town in general. Also the fact that Levi has a special approach to foxes, made Thomas realise something...

“Doesn’t it make us special?", he asked, tilting his head slightly.

She smiled warmly. “I guess it does".

This was the last sentence said by the table, before the Anderson family dug into their plates. Thomas, as usual, was first. He threw his plate into the dishwasher and headed to his room.

As Tom reached his desk he sat on his chair. The initial idea was to play more games, but as soon as he detached the screen from the laptop keyboard a wave of reluctance hit him.
“Nah”, he said, closing the laptop back. He rotated on his chair towards the bed, where he walked next, with his phone in his paw. When he lay down, lazily, comfy, he turned on his device, noticing a message from Levi on the top of the tower of notification.
I want to apologise if I pushed you too hard today. I don't want to force you to do anything. I'll try to be less obtrusive...
Thomas, reading the husky's message couldn't suppress a grin stretching across his face.
“Even texting, you are the sweetest soul I ever met…”, Thomas soothed. His thumb pads moved to the screen and began to type:
I don't feel forced or anything at all! I'm very happy we will have more opportunities to spend more time with each other. My parents already know that I will visit you, they agreed too, so everything is clear here. See ya tomorrow:)
He dropped his phone on his belly and wrapped his paws over his head. His eyes closed.
“You are soooo silly…" he murmured with a wide grin on his face.
A minute, maybe two passed when he suddenly felt a vibration over his whole middle part. Thomas immediately yanked his phone back. As he lit up the screen, he saw another message from his friend.
That's awesome to hear! I can't wait for tomorrow. I wish you a pleasant night, Tommy;)
Tom chuckled a bit and typed:
You too Levi:)

Happy now, the fox could return to his typical day. The rest of his day passed casually by watching and playing on his phone. Hour after hour slipped away— it got really dark. His mother called him for the last meal of the day. Dinner time! Today they had simple spaghetti Bolognese, yet the best meal to make our little boy get exhilarated and eat with a wagging tail and fluttering ears.

They had some small talks—mostly the parents were talking though. Thomas managed to slip the fact that Levi texted him, and that they had a little conversation. It made the rest of the foxes even happier than they were before.

After dinner he just went straight to his bathroom to brush his teeth. Then shower time came!
Thomas stripped off to bare fur. The dressing from yesterday was still there—surely too long, so he pulled it off too.
“Hmm, I guess I'm a healthy boy”, he commented, staring at his well healed knee.
The used bandage he threw to the bin he had next to the toilet. He is next to the shower stall.

It wasn't the usual shower time. As the soothing warm water was dumping his fur coat, his paws were brushing all around his body. His eyes were shut, letting him make something even more unusual.
In his mind, he wasn't alone there. Just right behind him, glued to his back was him, Levi. His white paws were gliding over the fox body; his shoulders, arms, chest, belly. On his belly the paws stopped to rub a little.
“You silly. It's tingling, you know?”, Thomas said, smiling to the boy behind him. He didn't get any vocal reply, but instead, a weird feeling reached his nether regions. The paws that had been resting on his belly just a moment ago wandered down—to the pubic area. The left one stayed there, rubbing the immature, growing pubic fur, but the right one slid slightly on the side, where it reached the warm, inner side of his thighs.
“R-right there…”, Thomas breathed out, while the paw was massaging the warmth.
His heart began beating faster, the temperature grew up too. The right paw was slowly sliding in and out, brushing the thigh fur, as well as his testicles. His left paw got bored—it moved lower. In contrast to his twin, it slid straight downwards, locking around something pointed in a different way, hard and…
“Ngha…”, he moaned lightly.
His eyes opened and cast down. He met his brown paw surrounding something. He made his fingers spread.
“What the hell…”, he said confused, staring at the protruding red flesh from a place, that for the most time was just a hole he pee from.
“N-no…”, his voice quivered, the sight scared him.
Thomas turned the water off and hopped down on the bathroom floor. He yanked the towel from the holder and began drying off; forcefully, aggression was moving his paws around. The area of where it all happened was abandoned though—the cub was dodging it as much as he could.
His peripheral vision caught sight of something.
Thomas looked on the side. The mirror, in it he saw himself; holding the long towel to his paws, with a tent in the middle. His right paw wandered to the edge of the towel, grabbed firmly and lightly pulled in the other direction, revealing the fox's erection.
Thomas whimpered.
He pivoted backwards to the mirror–the sight was intimidating him. He continued brushing his fur, then hair. It took him a few long minutes before he stopped violating them. With the towel hanging on his head and hope in his soul he looked.
“Finally…”, he breathed in relief, seeing no redness in his private area.
Thomas just finished drying to an acceptable point and left the bathroom.

What caused his panic? As soon as he caught his penis sticking out from his sheath the guilt hit him like a truck. He was imagining Levi doing it all, which felt extremely wrong…

Thomas had a ton of time to spend as he wanted, but decided it was too much for him for today. Resting before the next day seemed more lucrative for him than wasting time on doing nothing productive. Also, he needed to calm down after what just happened.
He skipped the diary—he could write everything that happened that day, but he knew exactly how it would end up; broke, more guilty, stressed. Who needs that?

Before sleeping, Thomas put something on himself: an oversized torn t-shirt and some loose shorts. Now he was ready. He laid down on his bed, wrapped tightly in his warm blanket and closed eyes…

************

*Knock knock*,

With this sound the door opened slightly.
“Honey, time to get up".
Thomas shuffled his body on the mattress, whining and mumbling under his nose while doing it. The doors closed with a chuckle from the creature who pulled him out from his Dreamland!
The cub opened his eyes. He stretched his limbs, letting another concert of groans and yawns out. The boy, quite energetically, shifted his body to a sitting position next. Following the day before, Tom did some breath exercises—it worked as well as then. Afterwards, he wandered to his bathroom, starting his daily routine: using the bathroom, splashing his face with lukewarm water, learning from the mistake.

Before he exited, he grabbed the pants from yesterday that he left in the bathroom last night. His mom was always repeating to him “Use pants and hoodies more than once before you throw them in the laundry!”, being a good boy, he followed her words this morning.

Tom still didn't have anything on top, so while trying to pull his pants on and walk, he stumbled over to his wardrobe. The options were limited: three t-shirts(white, black, purple) and two hoodies (black and gray). He looked out the window.
“Hmm…”, he hummed, considering if outside was freezing cold, or rather warm.
“Naaah, warmie”, he said, and grabbed the purple t-shirt.

Thomas moved downstairs.

He greeted both parents, who were already consuming their meals. He joined them, but got worried about not seeing his sister with them. “Where is Max?”, he asked.

“She starts classes later”, father replied.

Thomas nodded and and took care of the plate of french toast cooling down below him.

With a full belly he moved upstairs to brush his teeth and took his backpack, went out to school, saying goodbye to the older foxes before leaving.

His walk was slow, he didn't have to rush, the bus wouldn't arrive for a good couple of minutes. Thomas reached the bus station, took a seat on the bench and promptly waited for his vehicle.

The bus arrived a few minutes later. Thomas took exactly the same spot, put in his earphones and relaxed in his seat as he watched the world behind the glass.

The ride went calmly and faster than usual. He leaped off the bus and headed to the entrance of the school, when suddenly someone called his name:
“Tommy! Wait!”

The fox rotated towards the sound source. He saw a happy wagging husky running in his direction. He waited until he reached him. “Heyo! How are yu-", caught off guard, Thomas received a hug from the older boy. At this point, Tom wasn't even surprised by his behaviour; he just tightened him in return.

“I'm doing wonderful, and you?" came Levi's voice just behind his ears. He didn't even let Thomas answer, he bounced off the rad canine and spitting another question: “Did you sleep well?"

Thomas laughed. “Yes and yes", he said, moving his head from side to side with every *yes*. “And how about you? Did you get enough sleep?”, he questioned.

“I feel full of energy!", he exclaimed, an enthusiasm flooding out from him. Then he grabbed the fox's paw and took some steps sideways, “Let's go inside!", it made the fox move.

Levi set a quite high pace, barely letting Thomas keep up behind him. He led them straight to class, which was mostly empty, except one cub sitting on Levi's desk.

“Whooo dooo weee haveee hereeee”, Oliver stretched out.

“Get your butt off my desk!”, Levi demanded.

The wolf rolled his eyes. “Only if you ask me nicely”, he winked.

Levi growled. “Just get ou…please?”, he surrendered.

“Of course, Mr. 'It’s Mine And Only Mine Desk’”, Oliver teased a little, but eventually hooped down.

The boys took their seats.

*****

The school day started. Thomas was passing each class actively participating, listening and doing what teachers were asking them to do. In between, on breaks, he was spending time around Levi and his friends, talking, laughing and having fun.
Levi couldn't hide his excitement about what was waiting for him and the fox after school. He had plans, not only studying, but also some more fun activities! From the flood of information Thomas could find out that he has a section in his room related to console games, with the big TV and a few controllers to play! It made the fox interested as an avid laptop gamer. Besides that, he prepared some snacks to crunch in the meantime.

The day was stretching for Thomas, he wanted to be at Levi's place, not here, at the school desk. Gladly, his little suffering had ended with the last bell.

“Come on Tommy!”, Levi urged the fox, already standing next to his desk, while Thomas wasn't even packed up.

“Chill-Out!”, Tom exclaimed, laughing under his nose as he was throwing stuff to his backpack.

Thomas finished packing, he zipped the opening and wanted to lift up the backpack, but it got stolen from his nose.

“I'll help ya!”, Levi said, holding the fox’s belonging tightly, roughly by the top.

Thomas sighed, wanting to sound annoyed, but the situation was so sudden and simply funny that he couldn't remain stoic; he burst out laughing. “You're on drugs or something?”, he joked.

Levi growled a little. “Silly, just go!”, as a man of action and ignited like a bonfire cub he didn't wait for his friend, he just gripped the fox's forearm and dragged him out.

With a fox laughing behind him, the husky boy went through the corridor, to the exit, down the stairs, straight to the fence, where he finally pushed the brake. He turned at the fox.
“I live close-”.

“I know I know, you already told me this”, Tom butted in.

“Ooh…”, it made him feel dumb, “T-then let's go!”, he spinned towards the widening sidewalk and shot himself forward.

With excitement playing with them, they speed walked for the next three minutes, until Levi stopped. He stepped to the edge of the sidewalk and looked right, left and again right. There was a car coming, he waited for it to pass then repeated the same move: right, left, right.
“Okay let's go”, he said, after which he sprinted across the street, of course holding Thomas close, even closer as he drew his arm around Thomas' back as they rushed to the other side.
“Here we are!”, he announced, standing next to the fence of a house, which caused Thomas to lose his breath…

A neat fence and trimmed shrubs surrounded the entire property. A large, imposing tree cast its shade over the outdoor space. Attached to one of its sturdy branches was a two-person swing—inviting and comfortable, though currently unoccupied. The ground was filled with various colorful plants, giving the whole area a pleasant and cozy feel. The house itself was primarily white; a two-story building with a garage—currently closed—and a gray SUV parked on the driveway. Near the entrance, there was a wooden porch, furnished with a seat and a small table.

“See? I told you that I live close to school!", Levi said, standing beside the fence with both paws pointing at the house.

Thomas barely caught what Levi said—the view devoured him.

“Well, y-yeh you were right…", Tom murmured something on autopilot. He never saw such a well-conceived and beautiful estate, it stole him completely.

Levi noticed the younger boy was as if out of this world. He came closer and waved a paw before his face. “Hey, Tommy! Earth to Thomas!”.

It worked, Tom shook himself and put an eye at the husky. “Your house looks amazing!" he admired.

"Yup, it does. My mom is an architect, so she designed all of this" he said, standing proudly, staring at the building. “Let's get inside. It's only the front page, inside is even more fun!", he added, waving his paw in an invitation, as he was taking steps inside the property. Thomas followed him.

They walked through the path made of big flat rocks; yet the surface was rough, clearly thought through for rainy days. Thomas was breathing with full capacity, he wanted to smell the surrounding, without being disappointed in the slightest; he loved it. The nice wander ended at the door, a dark wooden gate to the house. Levi grabbed the knob, turned, the door detached from the frame. Thomas could sneak a glance inside already; wealthy, wealthy, wealthy, it's all he saw.

They went inside, both took off their shoes and placed them on the shoe pad, then they moved further into the house. Just like in Thomas' house, the living room was right next to the entrance; here they landed. The space was equipped with a long leather sofa, standing in front of the coffee table, then a fireplace made of red bricks. Above the fireplace was hanging a big TV, with speakers on both sides installed to the wall. Moving away from the living room, a spiral staircase was placed straight across the entry door. Besides the brick segment, walls were painted on white and the floor was made of oak panels—looked like real wood—Thomas knocked on it with his big toe—it proved his assumptions were real. In between the staircase and the entrance corridor there was a passage. Levi walked there.

“Mom, I'm home!!" Levi shouted out, speeding to a woman standing besides the stove.
“Hi honey! How are you?", the mother, a Samoyed dog replied, as the happy boy with wagging tail stuck to her body.

“I'm good! I want to introduce you to somebody-" he took his mother's paw and led her to the fox, who stood in the passage, watching the two greet each other. He had a smile that fell down as soon as he recorded what Levi just said. Thomas straightened up.

“Mom, this Thomas. Thomas this is my mother" he said, pointing alternately on each of them.

His mother smiled and leaned over the red fox offering her paw. “So that's you. Nice to meet you Thomas".

Tom accepted her paw. “Nice to meet you Mrs…Mom, heh", he offered an awkward look.

The mother smiled even more. “I heard a lot about you", she said, taking a glance at her son.

Levi shot a shocked and slightly terrified look. ”Mom..." He whispered to her.

“I hope only the good things", Tom added, a grin stretched across his face.

“Only such" she also grinned.

“Mom stop...", the boy hid his bashful face in his paws.

Thomas felt bad for placing him in such an awkward position. He decided to try to quench his embarrassment a little. “I also talked to my mother about you"

Levi slightly exposed his eyes.
“Seriously?"

Tommy laughed slightly. “Yup, just like you, only in good. There was no other way with you", he said, tone changing with every word, until it became warm, cozy like a blanket on a cold night. He felt uncomfortable saying this, but his willingness to make his friend feel better won against him or he just wanted to let out some of how he really feels without being too obvious.

The husky uncovered his face fully; face burning in blush, a smile cracked a nice line across his face. “That's-that's...ehmm...Thank you...", he hesitated, no, he was left out of words. Nothing works stronger on him than this little fox compliments.

“Oh how adorable!", the mother said from the side, her paws were paired together on her right cheek as she adored those two breaking first relationship glasses between each other. Those paws moved then, reaching the shoulders of both cubs. “You can go upstairs now, dinner should be ready soon. Getting ahead of your question, your father is supposed to be home in a moment too", she said to the beige husky.

“Thankie mom!", Levi replied to her, in the meantime grasping Thomas' paw, just to twist around and dash away.

They rushed up the stairs and stopped by the first door they met. After a quick look around, Thaoms found out the layout looked too similar to Thomas house, with a small distinction. In his home the upper corridor has three doors, leading to: his bedroom, his parents and sister's one; in this order. Levi had one more door, at the end of the corridor, opposite to the third door.
How many of them are living here?

Levi spread the door wide and entered inside. The boy dropped Thomas's backpack straight to the left of the entrance, then dropped his own beside.

While Levi was taking care of their school belongings, Thomas was scanning the room, with amazement tattooed in his eyes.

Starting from the left, there was a door, probably to the bathroom. Following the right direction we stopped on the dark blue wall, where a TV was hanging, surrounded with a media console kind of cabinet, with a console, two controllers in sight and tons of games. Underneath, on the carpet flooring were resting three beanbags; blue, yellow, black. The corner on the right from this gaming setup was hidden by a large two-door wardrobe, with a bookshelf attached to it. Further on was a gaming desk, with two monitors, keyboard, mouse, headphones, gaming chair and the computer itself camping under the desk. If we look higher we would find a dark wooden shelf full of everything and nothing. The whole space after it was reserved for a giant bed, stretching from one corner of the room to the following one. The surface wasn't just cozy and welcoming to lay on; it was full of plushies; smaller and bigger, all having one duty though, to surround the space all around, like guards, knights who are protecting the sleeping beauty—one side had to be clean though, the wide one closer to the inside of the room, to somehow hop on this piece of art.

Something caught Thomas' eyes. Out of all the plushies on the bed only one wasn't on the edge. In the center was a quite small one, perfect to hug for sleep though. Thomas could only notice a lot of orange colour it had, until his view got blocked—Levi also noticed what was resting there. Even if he couldn't see clearly, Thomas, based on Levi's moves, saw him hiding something under the pillows. It made Thomas suspicious, and madly curious what it exactly was. To avoid arousing any suspicion, the little fox simply looked away and pretended he saw nothing.

Thomas had to admit to himself, the husky's bedroom was like a dream. Jealousy hit him, maybe even too much. The angel on his left shoulder pinched him to move his brain though—the amount of kindness Levi had made him completely deserve what he had.
Perhaps there is justice in this world?
“Your room looks so cool!", Thaoms exclaimed.

“Yup, no question about it. Often I gather with my friends here and spend good time together. I'm happy I can make so much use of it”, he said with a pinch of nostalgia in his voice. His eyes were fixed somewhere where his game station was placed, until the last word, when they cast down. “I would like to see you here too. Would you like to?", he said directly to Thomas, looking at him with slightly puppy eyes.

Thomas smiled happily, tail wagged on his back. “Of course I want to! Thank you for inviting me too. Thanks…for everything…heh", he laughed shyly.

“I am the one who should say “thank you”, Tommy", he said warmly. He kept his sight on the boy for a moment, piercing him with those angelic brilliant eyes. Without a word he turned his sight away and walked to the bookshelf. He took the biology book and his notebook.
“So let's study!", he declared with enthusiasm, holding the book in one paw high up, and the notebook in the other at the same height.

“Yeah!" Thomas cheered, surprising himself by how enthusiastic he was for studying.

The cubs sat on the floor and started to study the muscle/skeletal system. Levi didn't want to make it boring, so after a little bit of reading he stood up on his feet and turned himself into a body to study!

Would it make sense if he was in clothes? No? Levi thought the same.
“Moment please…”, he said, grabbing hold of his vintage jacket and pulling it off. The T-shirt under the jacket also got treated the same way—now his top body was bare. The boy bent over to take care of his socks then moved to his pants, without any hesitation letting them fall loose to his ankles. He wore gray briefs, with a waistband sitting neatly around his hips, the colour a little bit darker than the whole composition. On the front, a pouch was perfectly shaped, proving we are dealing with a 100% boy.

Thomas's eyes went wide—his new friend stripped in front of him. It felt weird, wrong, yet exciting too. The last feeling was somehow the strongest, as Thomas felt something grew in his own pants. He looked down.
FUCK!
A little tent shaped on the surface, barely visible, but it was there! The fox reacted instantly, as he drew his knees towards himself–fast, violent. His movement had to look suspicious and totally weird. Stressed, he glanced at Levi, who gladly was folding his clothes in a cube.
Damn too close idiot…

“Alrighty! I'm ready. How about you?”, Levi announced.

“Yup, teach me!”, Thomas said back.

“Let's start it then…”

Levi confirmed his uniqueness once again. With passion and true will to help the fox he one by one showed where all the bones on his body were, naming them, sketching on his fur their shape and size. Thomas quickly forgot what was happening in his pants—he just listened, asked questions, even was using his own body as a study model!
Levi didn't even have to look into any educational aids, everything seemed to be in his mind already sculpted. It was a red flag for Thomas, because the day before, Levi said he wanted to study for the test today, and since Thomas also would need to, he invited him to his home. Perhaps Levi just remembered all these complicated names and where they should belong from classes, or maybe he straight lied, only to bring the fox under his roof and spend some personal time with him?
It didn't matter at this point, because Thomas was gaining knowledge in a fun way, rather than bored alone in his room.
You little sweet liar…

“Excuse me, need a quick pee break!”, Levi blurred out. He needed it, he was already dancing in place quite a bit. The husky boy wheeled towards the bathroom door and walked there, with rigid, tensed movements.

Thomas watched him going, chuckling under his breath. As the curled white and beige tail disappeared in the door, in his mind something knocked. The mysterious plushie, it was behind him, on the bed, under the pillow!
The realization parted his eyelids wide—he twisted his torso backwards, yet his head turned around back to the bathroom door. Thomas heard something splashing hard against a porcelain surface—he made the decision.

Time was breathing on his neck, but the treasure was worth anything, so he rocked from his beanbag and targeted the bed. 3 seconds and he was already above the bed. Comfy head rest in his sight, he slipped a paw under it.
“Gotcha!”, he triumphed as he dug his mischievous claws against the mysterious plushie.

He pulled it out.

“Of course…”, he said to himself, unsurprised by the view. It was a fox plushie—who could guess it right? Thomas laughed slightly and booped the black nose.
“You are kinda cute", he said to the plushie.
The content fox wanted to put him back in his place, his paw was already half way there, but then he found out something unique about this plushie. He brought it closer to his sight and took a closer look. Eyes, they were green, it had black hair which was black, arms half way brown, ears brown. It wasn't just a fox plushie, it was him.
“What the hell? It's me!?”, he stood there as if frozen, shocked, washed from knowledge of how to react to this discovery. That explained everything! Levi panicked so much before, because he didn't want Thomas to see it! The fox even snorted a laugh thinking how long it took him to connect such an easy path of dots drawn in front of him.

The sound of flushing water broke the silence—scaring the fox who jumped a little, dropping the plushie as he did. Luck left Thomas. The little stuffed fox hit the bed, bounced off and fell on the floor.
“Oh shit!”, Thomas reacted immediately. He bent down and snatched the plushie, then straight up, tossed his own copy in the initial spot and finally shot to his sitting place. He was fast, he was stressed—Tom knew Levi could show up any moment, which actually happened.
As Thomas was one step from his beanbag when the bathroom door opened. He froze, in an instant, as if cat instinct had awakened in him.

“I'm so sorry for that. I couldn't take it any looonger!" Levi stretched, laughing awkwardly a little.

Thomas swallowed, forcing a light laugh out. “Ye, y-ou surely couldn't", he replied, breathing harder.

“You alright?”, Levi asked—he noticed a change in the fox.

Tom nodded with a small smile. “Everything is fine. Are we continuing?”.

Levi snapped his fingers. “Of course!”.

There was not much to go. Levi's bladder gave its sign when they reached the structure of hind paws. Piece of cake which took them a few minutes to go through. Though Thomas wasn't fully there, his body was, but not mind. The discovery brought additional questions, uncertainties and more dilemmas.
Does he like me that much?
This question was swirling around in his head like an F1 car on a racetrack.
It was strange, how couldn't it be? But how exciting and adorable! Now he had an admirer, who was also his best friend...

After some time the mother called the cubs for dinner. They hadn't finished studying yet, just a few more bones left to go, so they locked in.
“And this is your lil toe”, Levi said, touching his smallest toe. “Do you have any questions?”.

“Yes I do”, Tom replied.

“Oh, it seems like we have an enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge! What's in your mind, Tommy?”, Levi asked, then shifted slightly closer to his friend.

A mischievous grin began stretching across the fox's face. “What's for dinner?”.

Levi burst out laughing. “And THAT'S a reasonable question! Let's find out!”, he hopped up and moved to his folded clothes.

Tom stood up then walked to the door, where he took a stand in wait for his friend. Levi had his back to him, sliding his t-shirt back on his torso. He still had no pants. Only underwear separated his butt from Thomas' sight. Nonetheless, the fox felt as if the older friend was naked in front of him, he didn't hide anything, he was himself. His heart warmed at that thought.
Levi grabbed his pants next and smoothly pulled them up to his waist, finishing his outfit, as he decided the jacket wasn't needed anymore.

“Alrighty, I'm ready”, Levi announced and joined Thomas.

Together they went downstairs. To their surprise, someone was already waiting for them by the dinner table.

“Dad!", Levi yelled, and ran to hug his father. “Why didn't you come upstairs to greet me?", he questioned the older canine.

“I didn't want to disturb you in your studies", his father replied. He looked at the fox. “And you must be Thomas, aren't you?", Levi detached from his body to let him stand up from the chair,  “It's great to finally meet you man!", he stuck out his paw.

Thomas joined his paw and shook. “Nice to meet you too!".

He noticed something quite weird in Levi's father. He was a dark wolf. Levi's parents were completely different from him, he didn't inherit any visible traits from them, not even eyes as the old wolf had brown, and the Samoyed mother dark gray.
Something is wrong here....

“Let's take a seat boys. From what I know the dinner should come to you shortly!" the wolf said the last word louder. The cubs complied with the request in the meantime.

“Yeah yeah, it's coming!”, the mother projected from the kitchen. Seconds later she showed up with four plates resting on her straight arms.

Thomas felt a wave of excitement, when in front of him a plate with a delicious looking lasagne appeared. He loves this dish. The table started eating.

It wasn't a silent meal, it couldn't be with a guest in the house. Thomas was placed in between questions from both parents, like: like "Do you like the town?", "How did you feel in the new school?" Etc. He had no other answers than: “it's great”, “I like it”. So far nothing unpleasant happened anyway.

Tom fought back, himself having a few questions for them. He already knew Levi's mother is an architect, but he also found out she ran her own architecture company—she is actually focused on this the most, while being an architect itself is just a hobby, doing it only when she feels the need.
On the other hand, the father said he is a real estate developer, specialising in commercial buildings. That explained to Thomas why they had such a beautiful house, with all the high end equipment. They didn't ask about the fox's parents—he was glad. Tom wasn't ashamed of their professions at all, because his mother was a psychiatrist and his father was an electrical engineer, but talking about them with essentially strangers felt wrong and quite awkward.

When they finished, the parents took care of cleaning and let the cubs head back to to Levi's cave.

At this point it was already 6.p.m. Even if Thomas had a good time here, he felt in his bones it was time to come back home. He wanted to call for his father to come for him but then Levi proposed his dad can do it instead. Tom insisted on it, but Levi pointed out that he brought him there, so he should provide the transport back. That was a good argument, very fair, so Thomas agreed. It made Levi happy, clapping his paws and jumping on his toes a little. Thomas replied with a giggle.

The fox grabbed his backpack and followed the beige canine who stepped outside the room before the younger cub. Of course, Levi had to first ask his father if he could do him a favour. No surprise, he agreed instantly, without any hesitations. While the father headed in search of his car keys, Thomas went to the mother to say goodbye.

“I need to go already. I wanted to say thank you for the nice welcoming and great lasagne!”, Thomas said.

The samoyed chuckled and patted the little boy. “You are so adorable. I'm glad I could make you feel nice here. The doors are always open for you!”.

“Thank you, Ms.Mom. Have a good night”.

“You too, Thomas. I hope to see you soon.”, she winked at him.

The three male canines exited the Melodys’ house. They hopped into the car and drove off.

Thomas was silent through the whole road. His fox nature just hit him, he was sleepy, lightly swaying on the back seat with eyes shut down. Levi was in the front, talking with his dad about the day. He tried once to make Thomas join them, but as soon as he looked back and saw a sleeping fox fastened by a seat belt in the middle, he understood he had to let him nap.
So cute…

A couple of minutes later they arrived at the destination.

“Hey, Tommy!”, Levi nudged the fox's knee.

“Nhmm…”, Thomas sounded out, waking up from his dream.

“Did you sleep well?”.

Thomas moved his head sideways. “Ehmm…can be. Your bed looked more comfy than this”, he kneaded the seat next to him.

Levi giggled. “I'll let you try it next time!”, he showed a promised sign, “But for now, you need to enjoy yours, Oki?”, he said, Thomas nodded promptly, “Great! Then let's go”, he turned around to the door.

Both cubs got out of the car. They walked to the sidewalk, where they took a stand in front of each other.

“Yesterday you said today will be a fun day and you didn't lie to me at all! I was really enjoying the time spent with you. Thank you for teaching me too. I have no idea how I would find myself in it…", he laughed shyly.

Levi's face was covered in blush as the wave of sweetness hit him. “I'm very happy I didn't disappoint you...we should do it more often, because I was enjoying it too!", he cheered.

“Yup we surely should...", the fox said. Tom then looked closer at his friend's blushed face, he really liked him like that—it fit him well. He kinda wanted to see him even more flushed, so he came closer and hugged him.

Levi was caught off guard. Nobody except him was hugging out of nowhere, now he got hit with his own weapon.

“Thank you for today", Thomas said, his left ear glued to a friend's chest, listening. The husky's heart was running crazy, thermally he was like an induction cooktop—Thomas worked on him like a red rag to a bull, though in a more pleasant way.
So you also feel like that?

Tom broke the hug and looked up at his friend. “When did you become a tomato?”, Thomas laughed, commenting on Levi's twice as pink as ever before face, confused, but certainly joyful, tail behind him betraying his owner.

“I-I-I-I also...Tha-thank you...", the beige boy stuttered, the embarrassment was eating him from the inside.

Thomas smiled uncontrollably, so hard that all his teeth were exposed to the view. “So, see you tomorrow" he said, lightly hitting Levi's stomach, then he wheeled towards his house.

“Ye-yes see ya…”, Tom could hear from behind.

Proud of himself, he walked slowly, not counting time, savoring his victory. He reached the door, opened it wide and went inside. He took off his shoes first, then wandered deeper into his house, searching for any living soul.

“Look who came back!", his father shouted out from the couch. A grown up vixen was snuggled to his side.

“Yup, here I am!", he shouted out with raised paws. He approached them. When he got close enough, basically in front of his makers, one of them grabbed him and placed in between

“I was waiting for your call, but my phone didn't ring, and now you are here. How is that, hmm?", Dad questioned the kid.

“I'm sorry, I should at least notify you I'll get a ride", Tom replied in an apologetic tone.

Joel patted his son's head. “It's okay buddy, the most important thing is that you came back in one piece".

“Tell us, how was it?" the mother asked.

“It was wonderful! We were studying the skeletal and muscle system, and Levi, like a good teacher, was showing everything on himself. Where they are and how they work! Thanks to this, I learned everything on the test by heart!", the cub excitedly said.

“On himself?”, father asked suspiciously.

Thomas looked at him annoyed. “He wasn't naked, dad!”.

Joel rolled eyes. “Man, get off of me! It just sounded weird…”, he said defensively.

The mother snuggled to the little boy. “How wonderful of him. Maybe you should reward him somehow?"

“Yes I should... I just need to find something good enough" he replied to her. The idea was fantastic, but how to achieve it?

“You need to think about what he likes. I know that you barely know him, but maybe you already found what he is into. Maybe some games?", his mother tried to turn his mind on.

Thomas didn't need to think long, he knew that Levi really liked him. He just had to find a way to give himself in his paws. Then, like the first lightning strike of a storm, it hit him.
SLEEPOVER! He shouted out inside his head.
“Mom, mom! I found it! Can he come for a sleepover from Friday to Saturday?", he pleaded, looking at her with his puppy green eyes.

She laughed seeing him like that, because it was rare of him, unusual like snow in summer. “You have never organised any sleepovers before. Are you sure you can handle it?"

The little fox moved. He turned around and shifted on her thighs, where he kneeled, penetrating his mother with a serious stare. “You don't believe in me, hmm?", he said in a low tone, eyebrows narrowed inward.

The vixen made the same facial expression, “So you really gonna do it?!", she challenged.

Tom was a little confused. “Ehmm-I-yes? Can I?”, he asked hesitantly.

“Yes, hell yes you do! This is your friend, so how could I not agree?"

“YAY!" He yelled out of his lungs. He dropped his body on her, snuggling hard.

“And what about me?", his father said from the other side. Thomas put an eye on him. “You still haven't asked me...", he sadly said, clearly falsely though.

His fake sorrowful tone worked on the young fox though. Tom moved towards him. “I'm sorry. I shouldn't skip you... Can Levi come to us?", he asked, taking his father's arm, his voice tinged with a sense of guilt.

“I don't know Tommy...", Joel continued teasing him. He looked slightly at his wife, to see her reaction—she was holding her laugh—it  gave him permission to go further, “I don't know if I want to have two teens like you in my house. You both would probably be very loud...".

“No no no, we-we will be silent, so much that you wouldn't even notice any signs of life from us...", Tom tried with all his might to counter his father's allegations.

On the older fox's face a smirk appeared and when he gazed at the vixen, she immediately burst out laughing, which infected Joel right away.

Thomas sitting in the middle of the circus had no idea what was happening. “Why are you laughing?", he asked, confused.

“I was joking! Of course you can bring him here!", his father said, still laughing.

Thomas felt angry, but under the weight of laughing jokers around him he surrendered, and joined the laughing party.

“Oh you my little silly" his mother trapped him in her arms as she said.

“Yup, you got me this time", the cub replied, relaxing in mother's safe cage.

“Are you hungry? I can reheat the dinner for you", she asked spontaneously.

“No, I don't need to. I ate at Levi's place"

“Oh, how good! There will be more for me!" His father joked, making others laugh again.

“Can I go to my room now?", Tom asked.

*Yes, go, be free!", the mother released him from her embrace.

“Thank you, both!" He said, quickly dashing away.

When Tommy reached his room, he threw himself on the bed and took out his phone. He wanted to notify Levi of what he was planning, so he chose his friend's number, clicked messages, then he let his fingers type:
Hi! I wanted to thank you for today again. I feel that leaving you with nothing in return is just unfair, so what do you think about a sleepover on Friday?
He was about to send the message, but then he imagined his live reaction, this priceless happiness that would make the whole world feel better. Sending it, he would not see it. Thomas deleted the whole message, yet didn't close the app. He still wanted to text him somehow, but without telling him directly about his plans; he just wanted to grow excitement in him.
Hi Levi! I just want to thank you again for today. I have something for you in return;)
That's going to be fun...

Tom threw his phone to the side with a proud smirk. Then, he rolled out of the bed and headed to his desk. However, halfway there he heard a vibration from behind. Tom turned around and looked at the phone that he left on the well made bed. He started giggling mischievously and rubbing his paws together. He walked to his device and when he picked it up, a message appeared on the screen:
I also wanted thank you! If I can ask, what do you have for meee???
You will explode if I tell you....

With a huge grin he typed back:
I can't tell you now. Tomorrow I will let you know, for now, good night my friend:)
Not even 10 seconds passed when Levi texted back:
Okey, if you say so... I can't wait to hear it! Sleep well Tommy!
“HAHA I knew that it would work!", Thomas exclaimed—he was really proud of himself.

Now, in a good mood Thomas could just relax, by his desk. Most of the time he spent playing games, but in the meantime he did his homework. A bit after 9.p.m. he went downstairs to eat the last meal of the day.

During the meal, Thomas told Max how it was at Levi's house and that he was about to come over soon. She was very pleased to hear how well her brother was doing. Max thought Thomas would have a lot of problems here, in a new place, but to her surprise, it turned out she should be worried about her own acclimation. The young vixen also shared about her day, but it turned out that nothing special had happened, just classes and more talks with random furs—barely anybody cared about her existence.

When Thomas came back to his bedroom, he noticed his willingness to play just faded away. He was also fully fed, which made him sleepy; the young fox decided there was no point in prolonging it any longer, so he started preparing to sleep.

He first took a leak then brushed his teeth and at the end he took a warm, comfy shower, that made him only more sleepy.

This day was a must to describe, so Thomas gathered all his energy left and grabbed his diary, lay flat on the bed and wrote:
"Dear diary, today was a beautiful day! Levi invited me to his home to study together. Finally we could spend some time together, alone, and had so, so much fun! I found some interesting facts about him. He has a plushie looking exactly like me! He really likes to hug me, so maybe he snuggles to little me in bed? It's kinda cute..."

The last word made his stomach slightly tingle from inside. He was confused that this feeling appeared again, but this time he felt pleasure, rather than anything bad about it. His lips formed in a small smile. The pencil again touched the paper:
"Today I hugged him for goodbye, which caused him to blush like never before. That was really funny to see! There is one thing that is weird. His parents are completely different from him! I've never seen anything like that... Well, probably I'm just delusional and everything is OK..."
The young fox thought about it for a second. He has a vague idea of where babies come from, but the notion that a beige husky could be born from a cross between a black wolf and a Samoyed seems simply impossible. It looked really weird for him, but at the end of the day, does it matter if Levi lived such a beautiful and full of love life? This conclusion ultimately convinced the little fox to drop the topic.

The page looked too empty though, so Tom decided to draw the same plushie he had in his paws a few hours ago. As he did, he additionally wrote on his stomach "Baby Thomas". He closed his diary and blindly slid him under the bed.

Full of contentment, he curled up in the blanket, and closed his eyes, letting the symphony of the silent night devour him into a better world…

The diary CH.1: The Beginning
+4
Last in pool
Finally done!
I'm kinda disappointed of myself, because if I push myself hard enough, I could post it two weeks ago, yet somehow I couldn't gather to writing :/

Anyway! This chapter is long, really long. I didn't know it was such a extensive chapter when I reached for the file to rewrite it.
Except making this piece more readable, I also added a few new scenes or stretched already existing ones. I focused even more on building relationship between my two beautiful boys, pushing them already into the state they are in not yet rewrote chapters. I hope you will like it!

Before me chapter 3, which will be now 4th one after changing the numeration. I remember I cried writing that chapter, and I'm wonder if the same fate will fall on me during rewriting... Stay tuned!

I hope you will somehow find time to read it all. I know it's long, but if you like this story, then maybe it won't be as bad experience;)
