Philip had a wide grin on his face as he readied and threw a Pokéball at the Rufflet. He had been itching for an opportunity to test his homemade Pokéballs, which were specially designed not only to capture Pokémon, but also evolve them!
But as the ball hit the Rufflet, it bounced off harmlessly, a wave of energy radiating back towards Philip! The energy surged into the hand that threw the Pokéball, causing yellow scales and long, black talons to grow from his fingers!
Shocked, Philip watched as literal goosebumps spread over his arms and legs, pinfeathers poking out of them. His boots strained under the pressure of his growing feet, and his gloves began to tear apart, as his fingers grew and fused!
With a sharp intake of breath, he felt muscles and bones shift quickly in his back, as two large wings pulled free, straining against his shirt and jacket. Taloned toes ripped through the fronts of his shoes, and more feathers began to emerge all over his body!
