"Hurry up" Jack shouted. We can still catch it!
Julia was running after her, holding her musket. She was gasping for breath, but this was no time to rest. Alpha pals were already a rare sight, let alone one so near their base.
And a Sekhmet, for that. She had always wanted one.
"AAAAUGH!" Jack's cry echoed across the rocky hills of the desert. Had the Syndicate attacked their base again, when they were away. Julia hastened her steps, readying her weapon. But as she turned around the corner, she was met with a sight she wasn't prepared for.
Before her was a gigantic Sekhmet, taller than most hills, sitting on its knees in the clearing. Around it was what remained of their base. Ruins and scraps. And none of their base pals were anywhere to be seen. Except one. A small Cattiva that the giant catgirl held in its paws. The little guy was struggling like its life depended on it.
And it sure did. Sekhmet, liking its muzzle, lifted the smaller cat to its face. It opened its mouth and tossed Cattiva in like it was a berry.
GULP
The sound echoed in Julia's ears as Sekhmet swallowed and the Cattiva disappeared down down its throat. It leaned back with a sigh, patting its belly contently. Julia took a few steps back. She didn't even realize that she had dropped her musket. She looked at Jack, who was staring at the scene, frozen in place.
"OUR BASE! OUR PALS!" Jack cried suddenly. Julia flinched.
"Shhh!" she hissed. But it was too late. Sekhmet's ears flicked and it turned its red eyes towards them. A smile appeared on its face as it begun to crawl towards them like a cat approaches a mouse. As it got closer, reality of just how big it was hit her like a hammer. They had to run, lest they also want to end up part of its meal.
Backing up slowly, Julia looked at Jack. He still hasn't moved, but was staring at the remains of the base.
"All that work..." he sobbed.
Sekhmet was now right before him. Its eyes gleaming hungrily, it reached its massive paw towards the him.
"Forget the base!" Julia screamed as she turned tail and sprinted away as fast as she could.
"RUN!!!"
Julia dashed across the sands like she never had before. She didn't hear Jack behind her nor did she turn to look...
-----
Two Tamers rushed back home, when they heard of an Alpha Sekhmet in the neighbourhood.
Got a bit more than they bargained for~
