I went to my very first furry convention this year!
Despite some reservations about going since I'm fairly introverted and shy, I decided to show my twin and we both went together. I've never felt so free to be a lil cringe in public! Everyone I interacted with was so nice and polite, the fursuiters all looked amazing, and the panels were entertaining to watch :3

The only issue is that all the excitement kept me up! I could hardly sleep, and I was a wreck on the last day. I'm so so glad that I went because I feel way more connected to furry as a fandom than I ever have been before. It was such an awesome experience!

If I have the chance, I'm definitely going to Furnavia next year too!

Theyre awesome, ive been going to cons since 2018 and its the only time I feel a little socially outgoing!! I can understand the drain though, its all so over stimulating. If you can, try to find a group to go with, it makes everything so much easier,  from room costs to pannel attending!

The con was actually in the town next to mine, so we just took the bus over every day. Although I'd say that has its own issues since we couldn't stay for late night events and had no room to go and relax in between events.
Next year we're probably going to try and get a hotel room for it so we don't have to do the back and forth travel.
Only issue with the group plan is that I don't know any norwegian furries, and my online furry friends are mostly in the americas or australia.

Having my twin to fall back on was good though. It's nice to have at least one other person you're experiencing it with :-)

Thats cool that you had family who were willing to go with you! Was he a furry too, or just interested in going because you were?
I hope you're able to attend again hopefully at a closer local--never too late to meet people and plan to share aroom in the future with em! Im assuming you attended like a sketchbook trade panel or something similar? Could be a good place to meet potential roomies in the future! Im glad you got to attend one overall, hope to one day see you at one if I ever go international for one like eurofurence or something!!

We're both furries! I asked if she knew about the con and she didn't, and then we both decided to go together :3
This con is the most local I will probably ever get. The neighbouring town is just a 30 minute bus trip away from the main bus station in town, so it was very convenient, although I still think a hotel room would be best next time!
I didn't attend any sketchbook trades, but there was an artist lounge for people to retreat to and draw stuff. They even supplied paper, pens, and coloured pencils! So I used it to draw myself an icon for my badge since I didn't figure that out when I initially registered lol.

It'd be awesome to meet people I recognise at cons! If I ever go to a bigger one elsewhere in Europe or even the US then maybe I'll make a little journal about it, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Furnavia. The con had 534 people attending this year, which is tiny compared to the big cons, but great for a first time I think :-)
