Cream the Rabbit's one of my all-time favorite characters since the 2000s and even up to now I love her like a sister of mine. So for this to happen to her... v.v

And this date is my personal time I read this very issue. Not that I hate it. But.... I ain't gonna sugarcoat this. This is in direct correlation to what happened in IDW Sonic, issue 27 with Cream the Rabbit and Gemerl. They beat "her" and got the emerald...... but at the COST... of Cream the Rabbit... Getting infected anyways...

To remind those here on Inkbunny, I cried in real life after that before I finished the comic. 😠And funnily enough, THAT was in a way a motivation to play the Doom series (2016 and Eternal, but I haven't finished Dark Ages quite yet) just to take my pain and rage out on demons... While having Dark Leyden at his side. XP They were real fun though, regardless of all this, and in the final battle of the Metal Virus arc, Cream DID get saved (and her family and everyone on Mobius), which I couldn't be happier with. Then I ended up falling out of IDW Sonic for a time because of that. But... Sometimes the pain NEVER leaves you. v.v

Basically: Dark Leyden is about to ANNIHILATE Zeena here for what she's done! And as the song says: Nothing can save you and there's NO WAY OUT! Also, Velvet's here to help out, but she's obviously scared and worried about Leyden here. She's using her Gem Eye magic to make that pink barrier to hold the Zombots back, but opens a hole up for Cream and Gemerl to escape through (the emerald was sent through the portal to the others already by this time, so Dark Leyden' can't even muck that up at this point).
I won't go on about this form, but Dark Leyden's a different dark form from most trademark dark forms. This one is made with 'DARK AETHER'. Not the one from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes even though it IS an inspiration for Light and Dark Aether. To sum up quick: This form stems from a dangerous move of Dionysis the God of Inversion who turned Aether, God of Light and Upper Air, into Dark Aether the god as a trick by a big bad villain I'll reveal sometime down the line. Aether was saved, but this is basically the 'leftover' of Dionysis as Leyden's rage and pain was the trigger.
Zeena better hopes she makes it out unscathed, if not ALIVE at all! Because Dark Leyden will show... No... MERCY!!!
