Earth year 2269, CCD-951-C is activated, with full combat capabilities, for the first time.
A Technician ran the final diagnostics. "Power is stable, all sensors are recording data." General Fran approached him. "This is the last?" The Technician turned to face the General. "Yes, the last to use the Quantum Matrix." General Fran walked over to CCD-951-C. "Make sure this one is kept on a short leash." "We don't want a repeat of the 950 Incident."
The Technician loaded a file on the computer. "Speaking of 950." "We did find information on the missing storage drive." "950 did steal it, and installed the drive in it's own drive bay." General Fran looked at the data. "Likely an attempt to preserve it's corrupt data."
General Fran walked back to CCD-951-C. "I want it ready for combat drills within the hour." The Technician stood. "She responds well to 'Weave'. Likely a side effect of the Quantum Matrix." General Fran looked at the Technician. "It is a machine, nothing more."
CCD-951-C looked at the General. "I prefer 'she' or 'her', not 'it'."
General Fran looked at CCD-951-C. "I will call you Weave." "But, you are a product, a piece of equipment."
General Fran walked to the door. "I'll be glad when we get rid of the Quantum Matrix." General Fran looked at Weave. "Those things are becoming too human." The General left and the Technician looked at Weave. "Sorry about the General."
Weave looked at the Technician. "You lied to the General?." The Technician walked over to Weave. "I exaggerated. The drive was installed in a Model C." "It just wasn't stolen, and, it wasn't installed in 950."
The Technician pressed a button on the nearby panel. "Mobility locks are disengaged." "Report to the Quarter Master. Then, report to General Fran" Weave walked over to the door, and looked back at the Technician. "Thank you, I hope your work with the Model D units progresses efficiently."
