Zelda was born under the frozen breath of the mountains, in a glacial cavern said to echo the voices of the dead. While not mutated, many believe her body is merely a vessel, and her true form is something older, something unseen. She is the last daughter of the Winter Eclipse, a bloodline of wolves who once served as keepers of the realm between life and death.
The lantern she carries belonged to a fallen ancestor—a seer who guided lost spirits. Zelda inherited it along with her duty: to protect her pack not only from physical threats but from spiritual unrest. The ghost of a wolf pup follows her loyally—its pale form often glimpsed in the mist. Some say it is her own lost sibling, others believe it's the first soul she ever guided across.
🐦 Companion: A radiant blue spirit bird often accompanies her, perched silently on nearby branches. It is said to sing only when death is near—or when someone needs guiding back to the light.
Chapter 1 the birth of Zelda
High in the mountains, deep within White Storm Pack territory, the den was thick with the scent of snow, pine, and anxiety. ☀️ Amaterasu ☀️—a beautiful Tombac she-wolf with fur kissed by fading sunlight—had gone into labor. Her body, aged and worn from seasons of battles and births, trembled with each contraction. She was alone—Niallán Flann, the father of the litter, was far away in another pack, unaware of the struggle taking place.
Time stretched thin as ☀️ Amaterasu ☀️ fought to bring her pups into the world. Her strength was faltering, her breathing ragged. But just as shadows crept into the corners of the den, a figure arrived—🌿 Asclepius II 🌿, the pack's skilled herbalist. With herbs, calm words, and unwavering paws, he worked tirelessly to aid the laboring mother.
After an hour of pain, determination, and cries that echoed through the icy cave, the pups were born—small, squirming, and healthy.
Exhausted, ☀️ Amaterasu ☀️ looked upon each one with pride. She licked them clean, murmuring blessings into their soft ears. But one pup stood out from the rest.
She was pale, ghostly, with a strange quietness to her breath and a light in her eyes that shimmered unnaturally. Her coat held the cold gleam of winter bone—like her father's. Zelda.
Whispers stirred among the midwives and watchers—a pup born of frost and silence, more like her distant sire than her aging dam. Even in those first minutes of life, something about her felt ancient… destined.
☀️ Amaterasu ☀️, weak but filled with awe, rested her head beside her children and whispered, "You, little one… you were born for something more."
And so, the mountain winds howled her name—Zelda—as if the world itself had taken notice of her arrival.
Chapter 2 the death of a mother
By the time Zelda turned three months old, the warmth in her world had already begun to fade.
Her mother, ☀️ Amaterasu ☀️, who once stood tall and radiant like the morning sun, had grown weak. Her breaths came in shallow gasps, and her once-bright eyes dimmed with every passing hour. Zelda stayed close by, confused and frightened as the pack's herbalist, 🌿 Asclepius II 🌿, rushed into the den.
But even he, with all his knowledge of healing, could do little. The herbs did not work this time. The light flickered once more—and then went out.
☀️ Amaterasu ☀️ was gone.
Zelda's cries echoed through the den, heartbreaking and raw. Overwhelmed by grief and panic, she did the only thing she could—she ran. Away from the den. Away from the pack. Away from the silence where her mother used to be.
She ran until the land no longer looked familiar. The mountains blurred into forests, and the snow beneath her paws gave way to wet soil and pine needles. Cold, hungry, and terrified, Zelda curled up beneath a fallen tree and whimpered, too exhausted to move.
That's when a shadow approached.
A tall male wolf emerged from the brush—his coat a canvas of darkness: a black base with striking Diana Carnage, Black Peacock, Umbra Cracks, Amor Streaks, and soft Lavender Freckles scattered across his frame. His blue eyes glowed in the forest gloom.
He paused, his ears twitching as he heard the faint sound of crying. Then he spotted her.
"What are you doing so far from home, little one?" he asked gently.
Zelda looked up, her small body trembling. "I'm lost… please don't eat me…"
The wolf let out a soft sigh. Without a word, he leaned down and carefully picked her up by the scruff, cradling her like a fragile flower. With steady paws, he carried her back through the woods—to the heart of a camp buzzing with the life of another pack.
There, a striking young she-wolf approached. Her sulfur-colored fur gleamed in the torchlight, and her red eyes watched everything with quiet power. She was the pack's leader—Chronis, Alpha of the Warriors of Hyrule.
She stopped before the male and raised a brow. "Alpha?" she asked, using his name. "Why have you brought a pup?"
He gently set Zelda on the ground. "Chronis, this pup is very lost… and she has nowhere to go."
Chronis looked down at the trembling pup. Her expression softened, and she nodded once.
"Welcome, little one… to the Warriors of Hyrule," she said calmly. "Make yourself at home. You'll stay in the Pup Den until you're old enough to join the Adult Female Den."
Zelda watched silently as Chronis walked away, her form disappearing into the shadows of camp. For the first time in days, Zelda felt something stir in her heart—a flicker of safety, of belonging.
It wasn't home.
But maybe, just maybe… it could become one.
Chapter 3 Him?
The camp of the Warriors of Hyrule buzzed with quiet life as the sun dipped behind the trees, casting long shadows that danced across the dens. Zelda walked beside the male wolf known simply as Alpha, her steps uncertain, ears flicking at every unfamiliar noise. The scents were strange, the sounds too loud—but something about Alpha's steady presence kept her from turning and bolting.
He led her to a den tucked beneath a fallen pine, branches woven carefully around the entrance. The air inside was warm, filled with the soft snores and murmurs of other pups curled up in nests of moss and feathers.
Then she saw him.
A young male pup stepped into view. His pelt shimmered in hues of silver and ghost-white—an Argent base, sleek and regal even at such a young age. His glowing Rhudd eyes held a spark, a boldness that danced like starlight.
"Hi! I'm Reaper!" he said with a wag of his tail, his voice full of eager confidence.
Zelda blinked, taken aback for a second. "That's… a weird name," she admitted, tilting her head. "You can call me Zelda."
Reaper just laughed. "Yours is weird too."
Before she could respond, the air shifted. The entrance rustled roughly as a large male wolf shoved his way into the pup den. His pelt was pitch black, rippling with Merged Ornate Waves that gave the illusion of shadows swirling over his form. His eyes narrowed coldly as he surveyed the room.
"Move, you little flea-bitten mutts!" he barked, his voice sharp and rumbling like thunder caught in a narrow gorge.
Zelda shrank back instinctively, her ears flat and tail tucked beneath her. Fear bubbled up in her chest. But before it could overwhelm her, Reaper stepped between them, placing himself at her side like a wall of confidence.
"Don't mind him," Reaper whispered out of the side of his mouth. "That's Dark Speakerman… He's always grumpy. His bark's worse than his bite."
Zelda peeked out from behind Reaper, eyes wide as she watched the dark wolf move across the den. There was something heavy about Dark Speakerman—like he carried too much weight for any one wolf. But despite his harsh tone, there was no cruelty in his actions.
He gently picked up a tiny, whimpering pup nestled near the back of the den. Her fur mirrored his, as black and fluid as ink, though her eyes were softer, unsure.
Zelda leaned toward Reaper and whispered, "Who's she?"
Reaper's tail swayed lazily. "That's Pepper. She's his daughter."
Zelda blinked. His daughter? The way he cradled her was careful, protective. Not what she'd expected from someone who stormed into the den like a monster from a nightmare.
As Dark Speakerman disappeared out the entrance, his tail vanishing into the evening fog, Zelda found herself staring after him. Not with fear… but curiosity.
Reaper nudged her with a grin. "Come on. Don't let the weird ones scare you. This pack's full of them."
Zelda let out a quiet laugh, for the first time since her mother's death. Something about this place, strange and wild as it was, felt like it was beginning to settle in her bones. And Reaper?
He didn't seem so weird after all.
Chapter 4 Stories
The morning sun filtered through the thick forest canopy, casting dappled light across the clearing. Birds chirped in the distance, and the sound of rushing water echoed faintly from a nearby stream. Zelda padded beside Reaper, taking in the sights and scents of her new home—the bustling camp of the Warriors of Hyrule.
Reaper's tail wagged with excitement as he led her along a narrow path between dens woven from vines and branches. "I can tell you're going to love it here, Zelda," he said with a wide grin.
Zelda tilted her head, curious. "How many wolves live here?"
Reaper paused mid-step, his ears twitching. "Over a hundred pack members," he replied proudly. "Most were born here. Others… they were loners or strays, wolves with nowhere else to go. They decided to stay."
Zelda's eyes widened in wonder. "Are all of them nice?"
Reaper chuckled. "Some are, some… not so much. But they'll warm up to you. Most of the wolves here have been part of the pack since the beginning—back when our leader was someone named Flicka."
"Flicka?" Zelda echoed, intrigued.
Reaper nodded. "Yeah. I wasn't born yet when she ruled, but I've heard a lot of stories—passed down from wolves who lived under her reign. The wolves that followed her are long gone, but their pups… and their pups' pups… kept the stories alive."
He leaned closer, lowering his voice like he was sharing a secret. "There's one tale the herbalists always talk about. It's about a she-wolf named Shazam Turmeric Rose. She was the herbalist back when Flicka led the pack. They say if you ever get a visit from her spirit… it means you're destined to become an herbalist—or something even greater."
Zelda's ears perked up. "A ghost wolf?"
Reaper nodded solemnly. "Yup. I heard she was kind and gentle… even in death. If she visits you, it's never to scare you. It's a sign."
Zelda's gaze drifted to the sky, wonder filling her chest. Could such things really happen?
As they walked past the training grounds and toward the elders' circle, an old wolf approached them. His fur was a deep, dark brown, streaked with fading gray. His body bore markings of Aspen Inuit Unders, Akhlut Sallander, Aspen Whitetail Spots, Honey Inuit Unders, and Cocoa Predator—like a living tapestry of earthy tones. Balanced between his ears were a proud set of deer antlers, tied carefully to his head with woven vines.
"Hello, pups…" the elder's voice was gravelly, but kind.
Reaper dipped his head respectfully. "Hi, Bambi. I was just showing Zelda around… telling her some stories of the old days."
The old wolf's white eyes softened as he looked at them both. "Stay out of trouble, you two," he murmured. "We've lost too many pups lately. We can't afford to lose any more."
Zelda glanced at Reaper nervously, but Reaper just nodded solemnly. "We'll be careful."
Bambi gave one last nod before turning and limping slowly away, the antlers swaying as he disappeared into the shade of the elder den.
Zelda turned to Reaper. "Who was that?"
"That's Bambi," Reaper explained. "One of the pack's elders. He's 7 years and 3½ months. Been around longer than almost anyone. He's seen everything… wars, famines, births, betrayals… you name it."
Zelda watched Bambi vanish into the shadows, a new sense of awe in her chest.
This pack had history. Legends. Spirits. And she was now part of it.
Chapter 5 Shazam
That night, as the camp of the Warriors of Hyrule fell into a hush beneath the starlit sky, Zelda curled into her nest of moss and feathers, her small body rising and falling with the rhythm of sleep. The cool night air slipped into the den, but she didn't stir.
Instead, a soft mist began to swirl around her paws, curling upward like gentle fog. The world around her faded—until she stood in a vast, open field bathed in moonlight.
Above her, the northern lights painted the sky in waves of green and violet, the stars glittering like frozen fireflies. The air was still, yet humming with ancient energy.
Zelda blinked. "Where… am I?"
A figure emerged from the mist. Elegant and ethereal, a she-wolf approached, her paws silent against the ground as though she were walking on starlight itself. Her fur shimmered a glowing Sulphur hue, and her markings—White Marbled Unders, White Inverted Panda, Silver Neck Band, Black Panda, Airglow Ornate Waves, and Honey Gentle Unders—rippled and shone beneath the moon.
Her red eyes glowed softly, not with menace, but with warmth, wisdom… and something older than time.
"Hello, Zelda," the spirit said, her voice as soft as wind through pine needles. "I've been watching you for a very long time."
Zelda took a step back, ears twitching. "Are you…?"
The she-wolf chuckled lightly, her form flickering like a candle flame. "Yes, little one. I am Shazam Turmeric Rose."
Zelda's breath caught. The Shazam? The spirit Reaper told her about?
Shazam lowered her head respectfully, her smile kind. "Your journey has only just begun, Zelda. But already, the path ahead is calling your name."
Zelda tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
The northern lights shimmered brighter, casting long, dancing shadows across the field. Shazam lifted her gaze to the stars. "The spirit world is in turmoil. So many lost wolves… forgotten, restless, trapped between this world and the next. They cry out for peace. For someone to guide them home."
She looked back at Zelda, eyes glowing brighter. "We need you, Zelda. You have the gift—the heart, the instinct, the soul—to become a Spirit Guide."
Zelda's ears perked, her tail stiff with surprise. "A Spirit Guide?"
Shazam nodded. "Not just you. Reaper, too. Together, you are destined to walk the path between the living and the dead. To help spirits find peace. To speak where others cannot. You are bridges between two worlds."
The wind around them picked up, rustling the grass and stirring the stars.
"But why me?" Zelda whispered.
Shazam's form shimmered, a wind of glowing petals swirling around her. "Because you care. Because you've known loss and didn't let it harden you. Because there is light in your soul that even death cannot dim."
Zelda swallowed, unsure whether to feel afraid or honored.
"Will I see you again?" she asked quietly.
Shazam smiled, her form beginning to fade into starlight. "Whenever the veil thins… I'll be there. Trust your heart, Zelda."
And with that, the field melted away.
Zelda jolted awake in her nest, her heart pounding. The den was quiet. Moonlight streamed through the entrance, and Reaper was sleeping peacefully nearby.
But the stars outside still shimmered a little brighter than usual… and deep in her chest, Zelda knew:
