borguis-khan (JP: ボルギス・カーン Borugisu Kān) is an enemy encountered throughout much of the toy kingdom in the needle travels chapter 1. borguis-khan is a bipedal dreamer with a grayish-purple hue. they‘ve antenna-like appendages or ears marked with black stripes, reminiscent of those on a hare or an insect, alon’ with a round head, spiral eyes, a zigzag mouth, ‘n a dark, jester-like collar. their small bodies feature lon’ arms endin’ in two-clawed hands, while their short feet taper to a point, they ‘lso ‘ve a notably long, plump tail. as dreamers, they are quite clumsy, erratic, an’ often ‘have in ways that seem nonsensical to others. they frequently experiment with new thin’s or, at the very least, revisit familiar ones, yet this contrasts with their tendency to carefully collect and store items, perhaps to prevent them from bein’ damaged or lost. they also appear to lead various groups under the authority of a greater borguis-Khan, however, these groups are often plagued by unnecessary complications ‘r sudden, abrupt shifts in allegiance. they tend to speak in an uncivilized, childlike manner, frequently interjecting with sounds like "nyah" ‘r "nyeh", though ‘me borguis-khans are capable of speakin’ normally. in the japanese translation, their dialogue is characterized by misspellin’s, poor grammar, an’ flawed syntax, notably, this specific way of speakin’ is limited to enemies and certain NPCs. their name is an anagram combinin’ "bourgeoisie" (’r "bourgeois") with "khan", reflectin’ the fact that their species can be led by a greater borguis-khan, though the nature of this leadership is hardly grand or impressive. in chapter 1, they appear as standard, common enemies within the toy kingdom, though ‘me live in towns as "civilized" borguis, a few may even provide information that could help in the effort to overthrow rockwell ‘n sinsun. in battle, their attack patterns are as follows: “filth-tossing” borguis-khans will target the player’s soul by throwin’ dust, while some will ‘lso hurl metal objects ‘r plush toys in an attempt to damage hambo or kalligo. durin’ an encounter, a borgus-khan will charge across the board toward the soul, dealin’ a small amount of damage. to spare them, the party must perform the "flatter" ACT three times, this makes the borguis-khan feel at home, convincin’ it that it belon’s. this puts the borguis-khan at ease, no longer feelin’ like an outsider an’ makes it ready to be spared ‘r recruited. ‘fter rockwell’s defeat, they celebrate the victory in festival woods alon’side other dreamers. in chapter 2, they appear as prominent citizens of funky town, some can be seen workin’ alongside the plugswags at the power plant, servin’ as clumsy or novice engineers. in chapter 4, they encounter counterparts of themselves, as spooky khans ‘n 8-bits borguis but they ‘come friends with them regardless. ‘me reside in scary town, livin’ as neighbours to the spooky khans. In chapter 5, several borguis-khans are found at the first church of funky town, helpin’ father collins and others with its reconstruction ‘n beautification. an borgus-khan individual can be found in the funky town temple, admirin’ the terracotta statues crafted by the ancient inhabitants of the ancient world. in chapter 6, they complete the reconstruction of the first church with the help of other dreamers. however, since the greater church has also been built, they fear their efforts were in vain, though a friendly rivalry develops ‘tween them and the archive keeper (along with collins), so it ultimately poses no issue fer borguis-khans. durin’ the funky town festival, many of them attend alongside other dreamers as visitors and shoppers. in the credits fer chapter 6, several borguis-khans appear alongside. a crowd of dreamers assist kalligo with the christmas decourations, each addin’ their own personal touch. in chapter 7, during the winter in funky town, several borguis-khans appear at chat restaurant alon’side other dreamers, singin’ christmas carouls, while other borguis-khans help keep the power plant runnin’. in the epilogue of chapter 7, several borguis-khans move to bay town to fill a void, the community refers to these specific borguis-khans as "dustflake people." after the needle in funky town is removed, borguis-khans, along with other dreamers, bid farewell to the geek gang, wishin’ them well in their hearts and fer their future lives. in the theatre battle at the dojo fighterZ, puppet-like dummies appear, reminiscent of muppets-like, featurin’ billiard balls fer eyes and rods attached to their arms, these serve solely as trainin’ tools to help players better learn bullet patterns. in chapter 1 of the anomalous route, they attempt to escape from the duo, but are ultimately killed in battle. after the anomalous route, they are found buried in the olde graveyard in funky town. its stats are 120 HP, 6 attack, ‘n 0 defence. it grants approximately 6 EXP when defeated ‘r killed, alon’ with 58 dream dollars. its dojo fighterZ card states the following: type of being: dreamer. element: dust. categories: weird animal, weirdo, naughty being, all-devourer. description: "dreamers that ‘ve lived in the dreamworld fer a long time are known fer formin’ clans within their social groups. they tend to eat anythin’, provided it is edible. never underestimate this species just ‘cause it’s ‘weirdo ‘metimes, bein’ weirdo can be truly cool and fun! It simply wants to ‘ve a good time ‘n enjoy life."
