A large, psychostatic insect engineered and grown in the lab. They have the unique ability to leeches psionic potentials for sustenance. As a result, they're highly aggressive towards psychic users. Safety measures were installed to allow these ants to feasts on the... volunteers, without causing serious damage. The more potent one's psionic potential is, the stronger the Psychants would grow.
The Psychant back has glowing strips that glows brighter as it ingests more psionic potential, it also slowly diminishes as the ant uses up those psionic potential.
Psychants are social creatures that lives closely together, and they multiplies in a slow but unique way - Once a day, the strongest individual would be fully energized with psionic potentials, and then quadruples in a similar manner of Mimics. The resulting 4 ants cannot multiply again for the next week.
Theoretically, Psychants are capable of feeds off of the Typhon. But due to their limited amounts, this theory have yet to be tested extensively. More research will need to be conducted before we uses them for future containment...
