Appearance
Velveon is a rare, unusual Pokémon resembling an Eevee covered in the colors and textures of a freshly baked birthday cake. Her fur is a deep red velvet color, while the fluffy fur around her neck, chest, ears, and tail is bright white, resembling thick vanilla frosting.
Her large ears have dark red inner fur surrounded by white, frosting-like edges decorated with little red sprinkle-like markings. Her tail is large and fluffy, with a white frosting-shaped tip.
The most unusual feature on Velveon's head is the tiny birthday candle growing from between her ears. The candle produces a small, harmless flame that never seems to burn her fur. The flame grows brighter whenever she becomes especially happy or excited.
Personality
Velveon is a gentle, affectionate, and cheerful Pokémon who absolutely loves celebrations. She is naturally drawn toward birthday parties, balloons, presents, cakes, and anything that makes people happy.
Despite her sweet appearance, Velveon can be rather shy around strangers. She tends to hide behind her fluffy tail when nervous, peeking out with her big golden eyes until she feels safe.
Once she trusts someone, however, she becomes incredibly affectionate. Velveon loves curling up beside her favorite person and will often rest her head against their leg.
She especially enjoys being told "Happy Birthday!" Even if it isn't actually someone's birthday, hearing the words makes her tail wag excitedly.
Special Traits
🎂 Her fur naturally gives off a faint red velvet and vanilla scent.
🕯️ The flame on her head is harmless and cannot burn her.
🍰 Her frosting-like fur is surprisingly soft and fluffy.
❤️ Her body temperature rises slightly when she becomes excited, making her incredibly warm and comforting to cuddle.
✨ Velveon's candle flame glows brighter when someone nearby is genuinely happy.
🎉 She can somehow sense when someone is celebrating a birthday, even from surprisingly far away.
Diet
Velveon primarily eats normal Pokémon food, berries, and sweet treats. She particularly enjoys berries with creamy flavors.
However, she has one weakness:
Birthday cake.
Velveon will immediately perk up if she smells one nearby. She doesn't usually eat an entire cake—instead, she carefully takes tiny bites while trying not to get frosting all over her face.
She almost always ends up with frosting stuck to her nose anyway.
Habits
Velveon has a strange habit of sitting beside birthday cakes and staring at the candles.
She doesn't understand why humans blow them out.
Whenever someone blows out a candle, Velveon's own little flame flickers sadly for a moment before returning to normal.
She also loves presents and will happily carry wrapped gifts around in her mouth, even when they're much too big for her.
Battle Style
Velveon isn't naturally aggressive. She prefers avoiding fights whenever possible.
When forced into battle, however, she uses her fluffy tail and powerful hind legs to dodge attacks while using moves based around her sweet scent and energy.
Her signature move is Birthday Burst, where the flame on her head suddenly grows brighter and releases a warm burst of sparkling energy. The attack isn't particularly destructive, but it can temporarily disorient an opponent.
Backstory
Velveon's origins are a mystery.
Unlike ordinary Eevee, Velveon are extraordinarily rare, and very few people have ever encountered one. She was discovered wandering alone near a small town shortly before a child's birthday celebration.
The moment she smelled the birthday cake, she followed the scent straight into town.
Rather than stealing the cake, Velveon simply sat outside the window and watched the celebration with fascination.
The people eventually noticed her.
They invited her inside.
Velveon had never experienced a birthday party before, and the moment everyone began singing, her little candle flame suddenly became brighter than anyone had ever seen.
From that day onward, Velveon became associated with birthdays and celebrations.
She never received a personal name.
When people asked what she was called, they simply called her Velveon.
And she seemed perfectly happy with that.
To her, Velveon isn't just her species name. It's her identity.
🌟 Quote
"Vel... veon!" 🎂🕯️
A happy little cry she makes whenever she sees someone celebrating their birthday.
Velveon may not have a name of her own, but she doesn't seem to mind. Wherever there's a birthday, a celebration, or someone who needs a little happiness, this little Birthday Cake Pokémon will always be there.
