## 🐺 Appearance

Harvest Moon is a beautiful elderly Siberian Husky whose fur resembles the warm colors of autumn.

Her coat is a mixture of **burnt orange, reddish-brown, golden yellow, and creamy gold**, with darker reddish markings running along her back and sides. Her golden-yellow fur resembles fallen autumn leaves, while the darker orange patches resemble the changing colors of maple trees.

She has bright amber eyes that reflect the warm colors of her coat. Although her muzzle has begun to show signs of aging, her expression remains gentle and attentive.

Several maple leaf markings decorate her body, making her look as though autumn itself has settled into her fur.

Around her neck is a thick, weathered rope collar. Attached to it is a glass bottle filled with golden maple syrup.

The rope is old and worn from centuries of use, but Harvest Moon refuses to let anyone remove it.

The bottle is particularly important to her because it belonged to the one person she trusted more than anyone else.

**The bottle has one unusual property: its maple syrup magically replenishes itself.** No matter how much syrup is poured out, the bottle eventually fills back up.

Harvest Moon doesn't understand why this happens. She simply knows that SCP-049 always carried the bottle with her, and she associates it with her beloved owner.

Despite her extraordinary age, Harvest Moon has no supernatural powers, enhanced strength, or immortality. She is simply a very old dog who has somehow survived far beyond the natural lifespan of her species.

## 🍁 History — The Plague Doctor's Companion

### A Puppy Abandoned

Long before the SCP Foundation existed, Harvest Moon was born as an ordinary husky puppy.

Her first owner transported her in a horse-drawn carriage. For reasons Harvest Moon would never understand, the owner decided they no longer wanted her.

While the carriage was moving, the puppy was dumped onto the road and abandoned.

Alone and frightened, Harvest Moon struggled to understand what had happened. She was too young to fend for herself, and the unfamiliar world around her was filled with dangers.

Fortunately, someone found her before it was too late.

That someone was a mysterious figure dressed in a black plague doctor's outfit.

**SCP-049.**

The Plague Doctor discovered the abandoned puppy and took her into his care.

Although his understanding of living creatures was unusual, he recognized that the little animal needed food, warmth, and protection.

He brought her home.

For the first time in her short life, Harvest Moon had somewhere safe to sleep.

And for the first time, SCP-049 had a companion who followed him everywhere without questioning his intentions.

### 🩺 The Little Dog Who Followed the Plague Doctor

As Harvest Moon grew, she became inseparable from SCP-049.

She followed him through his home, accompanied him on his travels, and quietly waited beside him whenever he treated patients.

While the Plague Doctor was focused on his work, Harvest Moon would settle beside his chair or curl up near his feet.

She learned to recognize the sounds of his footsteps and the rustling of his clothing.

Whenever he left a room, she would follow.

Whenever he stopped, she would sit beside him.

And whenever he was away from her for too long, she would search for him.

SCP-049, in turn, became deeply accustomed to her presence.

He ensured she was fed, sheltered, and cared for. He protected her from dangers encountered during their travels and made certain she was never abandoned again.

Harvest Moon was not an experiment or a specimen to him.

She was his dog.

And he was her family.

### 🍯 The Maple Syrup Bottle

One day, SCP-049 was summoned to treat someone suffering from what appeared to be dangerously low blood sugar.

During the encounter, he produced a bottle of maple syrup that he carried with him.

He poured some of the syrup into a cup and gave it to the person.

The sweet syrup provided a quick source of sugar while arrangements were made for the person's further care.

Harvest Moon had been standing beside him throughout the encounter, her tail gently wagging.

Afterward, SCP-049 attached the bottle to a rope collar around her neck.

Perhaps he wanted to keep the bottle close at hand. Perhaps he simply thought it suited his little companion.

Whatever his reason, the bottle became a permanent part of Harvest Moon's appearance.

Eventually, SCP-049 noticed something peculiar.

No matter how much syrup he poured from the bottle, it never seemed to run out.

The syrup replenished itself.

He examined the bottle, but its unusual property remained unexplained.

Harvest Moon, meanwhile, was perfectly happy with her new accessory.

She had no idea that the bottle would one day become the most important possession she had left.

*Note: Maple syrup can provide sugar, but severe hypoglycemia requires appropriate medical treatment. SCP-049's historical use of syrup is part of her fictional backstory.*

## 🖤 The Day Her Owner Disappeared

Harvest Moon's peaceful life ended when the SCP Foundation came for SCP-049.

The Foundation took the Plague Doctor into custody, removing him from the world he had known.

Harvest Moon was left behind.

She waited for him to return.

At first, she remained near the place where she had last seen him, expecting to hear his familiar footsteps.

When he didn't come back, she began searching.

She wandered through unfamiliar roads, sniffed at passing travelers, and followed anyone wearing dark clothing who vaguely resembled her owner.

Sometimes she would stop outside buildings and wait, convinced that SCP-049 might emerge from one of the doors.

He never did.

As the seasons changed, Harvest Moon continued her search.

Autumn became winter. Winter became spring. Years passed.

Her coat grew older, her joints became stiff, and her muzzle gradually showed signs of age.

But she never gave up.

The glass bottle remained around her neck, its syrup magically replenishing itself whenever it was used.

To Harvest Moon, it was more than a bottle.

It was a reminder of the person who had rescued her when she was a helpless puppy.

She doesn't understand why he left.

She doesn't know about the SCP Foundation.

She only knows that her owner is missing.

And she wants to bring him home.

## 🐾 Personality

**Loyal:** Harvest Moon has never forgotten the person who raised her. Even after centuries apart, she continues to search for SCP-049.

**Gentle:** She is generally friendly toward people who approach her calmly. She has no desire to hurt anyone and often seeks companionship.

**Patient:** She can wait for hours outside a building if she believes her owner might return.

**Protective:** Despite her age, she will place herself between someone she loves and a perceived threat. Her body may be old, but her devotion remains strong.

**Stubborn:** Harvest Moon refuses to abandon her search. Attempts to redirect her often result in her quietly returning to the last place she smelled SCP-049.

**Affectionate:** She enjoys being petted, having her ears scratched, and resting beside someone she trusts.

**Easily Confused:** Her advanced age sometimes makes unfamiliar places difficult to navigate. She may forget where she was going or mistake a stranger for someone she once knew.

**Food-Motivated:** She still gets excited when she smells meat, warm food, or anything sweet.

**Sensitive to Loneliness:** Harvest Moon becomes distressed when left alone for extended periods. Having lost her original owner and later SCP-049, she fears being abandoned again.

## 🩺 Relationship with SCP-049

SCP-049 was the closest thing Harvest Moon ever had to a parent.

He rescued her as a puppy, raised her, and provided the care she needed to survive.

For Harvest Moon, he wasn't a frightening plague doctor or a mysterious figure.

He was simply **her person**.

She never understood his experiments, his beliefs about the Pestilence, or why people feared him.

She didn't care.

She loved him because he had been kind to her when nobody else wanted her.

If the Foundation eventually reunites them, Harvest Moon will probably recognize his scent before she recognizes anything else.

She may initially struggle to approach him, uncertain whether he is truly the person she remembers.

But the moment she realizes who he is, she will hurry toward him as quickly as her old legs allow.

Her tail will wag.

She will whine and press her head against him.

And after centuries of searching, she will finally be home.

SCP-049's reaction is up to your interpretation, but I imagine he would be genuinely surprised to discover that his beloved companion survived.
