## 🐺 Original Wolf Form
Before her death and transformation into a ReDead, Shadow was a beautiful black-and-silver female wolf.
She had dark fur, expressive eyes, sharp claws, and a powerful build suited for traveling across the Great Sea and fighting monsters.
Shadow was incredibly fast and agile when she was younger. She could run across beaches, forests, cliffs, and islands with ease.
She was also capable of speaking like a human.
Shadow's personality was playful, curious, stubborn, brave, and extremely loyal. She loved exploring and often had a mischievous sense of humor.
Despite being the chosen **Wolf of the Wind**, Shadow never considered herself better than anyone else.
Her greatest strength was never her power.
It was her love for her family.

# 🌬️ The Wolf of the Wind
Shadow possesses a unique connection to the wind.
The wind chose her because of who she was—not because she was destined to become a perfect hero.
Her wind abilities have allowed her to:
- Manipulate powerful gusts of wind.
- Create bursts of wind to knock enemies backward.
- Move incredibly quickly.
- Sense changes in the air around her.
- Use the wind to enhance her jumps and attacks.
- Call upon the wind during moments of extreme emotion.
- Survive situations that should have killed her.
- Interact with ancient magical forces.
The wind has saved Shadow more than once.
It even returned her to the living world after she died.
But Shadow eventually learned that the wind wasn't asking her to sacrifice herself.
It was asking her to **live**.

# 💎 Human Form
Shadow possesses a magical **Wolf Stone** that allows her to transform from her wolf body into a human form.
When she transforms, golden wind-like light surrounds her body before her wolf form changes into that of a young human woman.
### **Human Appearance**
- Long black hair.
- Soft human skin.
- Crimson markings that remain on her body as a reminder of her wolf identity.
- Expressive eyes.
- Human hands and feet.
- A youthful appearance despite everything she has experienced.
Her human form allowed Shadow to experience a different side of life.
She could walk through villages without frightening people, wear human clothing, interact with others more easily, and eventually marry Link in her human form.
Link was the first person to see her human form and immediately thought she was beautiful.
Shadow became embarrassed by the compliment and teased him about it.
Her human form became an important symbol of her ability to live between two worlds:
**The world of humans and the world of wolves.**
### **Current Status of Her Human Form**
Shadow can no longer transform into her human form.
As she aged, her body slowly became weaker.
Eventually, the Wolf Stone stopped responding to her.
Even when she tried repeatedly, the golden light would appear but the transformation would fail.
Shadow accepted that she was becoming an elderly wolf.
After her death in the Earth Temple, her transformation became impossible.
She is now permanently trapped in her ReDead wolf form.

# ☠️ ReDead Wolf Form
After Shadow was killed within the Earth Temple, her body did not remain peacefully at rest.
Something within the temple transformed her into a **ReDead**.
Three years later, Link, Lira, and Aren discovered that Shadow was still conscious beneath the decay.
Her current appearance is terrifying.
### **Appearance**
- Her head has become a skeletal wolf skull.
- She no longer has ears.
- Her eye sockets are empty except for two glowing red eyes.
- Large patches of fur have disappeared from her legs.
- Exposed bones can be seen beneath her remaining fur.
- A large section of fur is missing from her ribcage, revealing her bones.
- Her remaining silver fur is stained with dried blood.
- Her body shows obvious signs of decay.
- Her movements are slow and stiff.
- Her skeletal face gives her the appearance of a creature from the world of the dead.
Despite her frightening appearance...
**Shadow is still Shadow.**
Her personality, memories, emotions, loyalty, and love for her family remain.

# 🔇 Loss of Speech
Shadow can no longer speak.
Her ReDead transformation destroyed her ability to use human speech.
She cannot say:
*"I love you."*
*"I'm scared."*
*"I'm happy."*
Or even simply say her family's names.
Instead, Shadow communicates through:
- Whines.
- Growls.
- Howls.
- Body language.
- Nudging people with her skull.
- Touch.
- Her eyes.
- Protective behavior.
Her family has learned to understand her.
Lira especially can often tell what Shadow is trying to communicate without Shadow making a sound.

# 👁️ Petrifying Gaze
As a ReDead, Shadow possesses the terrifying ability known as **Petrifying Gaze**.
When Shadow spots someone, she can release a piercing ReDead shriek.
### **Effect**
**SKREEEEEEEEEE!**
Her high-pitched scream accompanies her glowing red gaze.
Anyone caught by her gaze can become completely immobilized.
The victim is unable to move while Shadow approaches.
Link is particularly vulnerable to this ability because he knows exactly what the scream means.
When Shadow accidentally catches him with her gaze, Link can become completely frozen in place until he manages to break free.
The ability gives Shadow enough time to close the distance between herself and her target.
However, Shadow rarely uses this ability against her family.
She especially avoids using it on Lira and Aren.

# 🐺 ReDead Instincts
Although Shadow retains her personality, her ReDead body comes with frightening instincts.
When she senses danger, she can suddenly become extremely aggressive.
She has:
- A powerful ReDead scream.
- Enhanced physical strength.
- Sharp claws and fangs.
- Resistance to pain.
- A terrifying undead presence.
- The ability to frighten other monsters.
- A strong instinct to hunt threats.
- The ability to move through the Earth Temple without fear of its monsters.
The strange thing is that many of the Earth Temple's monsters actually **avoid Shadow**.
Stalfos, Moblins, Poes, ChuChus, and even other ReDeads recognize her as something different.
Shadow has become one of the creatures the temple itself fears.

### **Link — Husband**
Link and Shadow began as best friends before eventually falling in love.
They fought together, traveled together, survived death together, and eventually married.
Even after Shadow became a ReDead, Link never stopped seeing her as his wife.
He doesn't care that she has a skull for a head or that her body is decaying.
To him, she is still Shadow.
His best friend.
His wife.
The Wolf of the Wind.

### **Lira — Daughter**
Lira is Shadow and Link's daughter.
She remembers her mother as the beautiful silver wolf who raised her.
When Lira discovered Shadow's ReDead form, she was initially frightened.
But she quickly realized that her mother's spirit was still inside.
Lira refuses to abandon her.
She still calls her **Mom**.

### **Aren — Son**
Aren is Shadow and Link's youngest child.
He was only a baby when Shadow died.
Three years later, he finally met his mother as a ReDead wolf.
Unlike most people, Aren wasn't afraid of her.
He simply recognized her as **Mommy**.
Shadow is extremely protective of him.
Even as a ReDead, her maternal instincts remain incredibly strong.

Frost-Lake was Shadow's mother.
She was a beautiful white wolf who loved the sea and used to sing Shadow a lullaby.

Unlike Shadow, Flame became consumed by his desire for power.
He wanted Shadow's wind abilities and eventually became her enemy.

Shadow's father is secretly the King of Hyrule, who often traveled the Great Sea disguised as the **King of Red Lions**.
He loved Frost-Lake and remained connected to Shadow throughout her life.
Even after Shadow became a ReDead, he still considers her his daughter.

The Earth Temple's monsters have learned to leave Shadow and her family alone.
Because they know what happens when they don't.
The Wolf of the Wind may have died...
But she refuses to stop being a mother.
