🐺 Appearance
Plaguebringer is a small, feral plague wolf pup with a dark, almost shadow-like body. Her fur is primarily black and charcoal-gray, with vivid toxic-green markings that glow against the darkness.
Her most recognizable feature is the strange plague-doctor-like mask covering her face. Although it resembles a traditional plague doctor mask, it is actually part of her anomalous physiology. The long beak of the mask can split open into a monstrous mouth filled with sharp teeth.
Her glowing green eyes are especially dangerous.
Despite her frightening appearance and anomalous abilities, Plaguebringer is unmistakably still a puppy. She plays with toys, explores her containment area, and seeks comfort from SCP-049 when frightened.
☣️ Anomalous Abilities💀 Deathly Touch
Direct physical contact with Plaguebringer is immediately fatal.
Anyone who touches her—whether intentionally or accidentally—dies almost instantly.
Because of this, SCP-049 is extremely careful when handling her.
👁️ Lethal Gaze
Looking directly into Plaguebringer's eyes produces the same fatal effect.
Her eyes can glow brightly in darkness, making accidental eye contact particularly dangerous.
Containment rule: Personnel are forbidden from making direct eye contact with SCP-1049-666.
🐀 Plague Rats
Plaguebringer can summon plague rats from seemingly nowhere.
The rats obey her commands and can be used to:
Track targets
Search enclosed areas
Locate living organisms
Scout ahead
Carry messages or objects
Surround and distract prey
The rats frequently follow her like a tiny hunting pack.
🌑 Shadow Meld
Plaguebringer can vanish into shadows and effectively become part of them.
While merged with darkness, she can move through shadows without being detected normally. She often uses this ability while hunting for SCP-049.
Sometimes the only warning that she is nearby is the faint glow of her green eyes appearing inside the darkness.
🐾 Supernatural Tracking
Once Plaguebringer has been given a target, she is extraordinarily difficult to fool.
She can follow:
Scents
Footprints
Blood trails
Residual anomalous energy
Even targets attempting to hide in darkness
This makes her an extremely effective tracker.
🩸 Relationship With SCP-049
Plaguebringer is believed to regard SCP-049 as her father.
SCP-049, in turn, appears unusually protective of the young SCP.
Rather than SCP-049 doing all of the hunting himself, Plaguebringer acts as his personal hunting companion.
Her usual routine is:
049: Identifies a potential victim.

Plaguebringer: Tracks them.
↓
Plaguebringer: Hunts them down.
↓
Target: Encounters Plaguebringer's lethal abilities.
↓
049: Arrives afterward to examine the corpse and continue his work.
This arrangement allows SCP-049 to spend considerably less time searching for subjects.
Interestingly, SCP-049 does not appear to treat Plaguebringer merely as a tool.
He appears to genuinely care for her.
🧸 The Puppy Beneath the Monster
Despite being capable of killing someone instantly, Plaguebringer is still only 16 days old.
She doesn't completely understand how frightening she is.
She still behaves like a puppy.
She enjoys:
Chewing toys
Playing with plague rats
Chasing shadows
Curling up somewhere warm
Exploring her surroundings
Sleeping beside SCP-049
Carrying her favorite toys around
Playing with toys SCP-049 gives her
Her toys are extremely important to her.
They aren't simply entertainment—they are comfort objects.
Having familiar toys around her helps Plaguebringer feel safe inside containment.
Personnel have discovered that she becomes noticeably calmer when her toys are nearby.
🖤 Her Dependence on Her Father
Plaguebringer may be extraordinarily dangerous, but she is not independent.
At only 16 days old, she still relies heavily on SCP-049.
She follows him everywhere.
If he leaves her containment area, she becomes restless.
If she becomes frightened, she searches for him.
If she is tired, she curls up near him.
And when she falls asleep, she often keeps one of her toys nearby while SCP-049 watches over her.
Her anomalous abilities make her nearly impossible for ordinary personnel to handle, meaning SCP-049 is essentially the only person she consistently trusts.
