πΏ Appearance
Mintfire is a beautiful, slender feral wolf with long legs, a narrow muzzle, large pointed ears, and a long bushy tail.
Her fur is primarily a deep forest green, with pale cream markings running along her muzzle, throat, chest, underside, legs, and tail.
Her most recognizable feature is her pair of bright cyan-blue eyes, inherited from her father, Link.
She has darker green markings around her face and ears, giving her a fierce but elegant appearance.
As Mintfire has grown older, gray fur has begun appearing around her muzzle, marking the beginning of her old age. Although her body has become slower and her legs sometimes tremble, the courage in her blue eyes remains unchanged.
Mintfire is permanently a wolf and cannot transform into a human.
π Personality
Mintfire is brave, protective, stubborn, adventurous, and deeply compassionate.
She can be calm and gentle around her family, but when someone threatens those she loves, her personality changes immediately.
She inherited much of her father's courage, but she also developed a strong independent spirit.
Mintfire doesn't like being treated as helpless, especially as she grows older.
She is also fiercely protective of her three pups and will put herself between them and danger without hesitation.
Despite being a legendary hero, Mintfire is not arrogant.
She knows that she has made mistakes.
One of her greatest regrets is the cruel things she said to her father when he was undead. She once told him:
“You are not my father!”
and later told him she hated him.
She eventually learned that Link had never stopped loving her.
That experience made her determined to make sure her own children never doubt how much she loves them.
π‘οΈ The Master Sword
The Master Sword has a very special meaning to Mintfire.
It originally belonged to her father, Link.
During her own journey, Mintfire eventually took up the Master Sword and carried it in her jaws because she needed to continue the fight against evil.
She eventually returned the blade to its rightful resting place in the Sacred Grove.
Mintfire initially believed that carrying her father's sword meant she had to become like him.
She eventually realized that wasn't true.
She didn't need to become Link.
She needed to become herself.
The Master Sword remembers both father and daughter, recognizing the courage they share.
π² Hero of Hyrule
Mintfire became a hero after embarking on a dangerous journey across Hyrule.
Her adventures took her through:
- Faron Woods
- The Forest Temple
- Lake Hylia
- Arbiter's Grounds
- Snowpeak Ruins
- The Sacred Grove
- The Temple of Time
- The City in the Sky
- The Twilight Realm
- The Palace of Twilight
- Hyrule Castle
She fought monsters, undead warriors, twisted versions of familiar enemies, and eventually Demise himself.
At one point, Ghirahim transformed into a sword to help Mintfire during her battle against Demise.
Mintfire ultimately defeated Demise and returned the Master Sword to the Sacred Grove.
β€οΈ Ghirahim
Ghirahim began as a terrifying demon lord who once served Demise.
He eventually revealed that he had once been Demise's Sword.
Despite their complicated beginning, Ghirahim fell in love with Mintfire.
Instead of returning to Demise, he chose Mintfire.
The two eventually became mates and settled together in Ordon Village.
Ghirahim is dramatic, flamboyant, and occasionally ridiculous, but when Mintfire or their children are threatened, he becomes fiercely protective.
Mintfire is one of the few people who can completely calm him down.
πΎ Her Pups
Mintfire and Ghirahim have three children.
πΊ Link
Male
Named after Mintfire's father.
He inherited much of his grandfather's courage and has already shown signs of becoming a future hero.
πΊ Silver
Female
A curious and determined little wolf who stays close to her brothers and mother.
πΊ Midha
Female
Named after Midna, Mintfire's old ally and friend.
Midha is playful, curious, and adventurous.
At only 15 days old, the three pups are still tiny and inexperienced, but they have already shown that they possess enormous courage.
The Master Sword has even hinted that one day the three pups will embark on their own great hero's quest to save Hyrule.
π Midna
Mintfire considers Midna one of her closest former allies.
Midna helped Mintfire during her adventures, and Mintfire was devastated when she had to return to the Twilight Realm.
Years later, Midna returned when Mintfire and Ghirahim were captured.
She now intends to help their pups rescue their parents.
π Epona
Mintfire has a special relationship with her father's horse, Epona.
Because Mintfire can understand animal speech, she can communicate with Epona directly.
Epona remembers Link and knows how much he loved his daughter.
She also treats Mintfire's pups affectionately.
βοΈ Abilities
Animal Speech
Mintfire can understand and communicate with animals.
Humans only hear normal animal sounds when she speaks with them.
Master Sword Combat
Mintfire can carry and fight with the Master Sword using her jaws.
Wolf Agility
She is extremely fast, agile, and capable of making powerful leaps.
Enhanced Senses
Her hearing, smell, sight, and instincts are far beyond those of an ordinary wolf.
Heroic Courage
Mintfire can continue fighting even when badly injured or exhausted.
Feral Combat
She fights naturally as a wolf, using her teeth, claws, speed, and agility rather than human-style combat.
π
Later Years
As Mintfire grows older, she begins slowing down.
Her muzzle develops gray fur.
Her legs sometimes tremble.
Long journeys become more difficult.
But Mintfire refuses to believe that aging means her life is over.
She eventually returns to the Sacred Grove with her family for one last adventure, where the Master Sword reminds her that she doesn't need to wield it forever to be a hero.
Her greatest legacy isn't the sword.
It is her children.
The little wolves who will someday carry her courage into the next age of Hyrule.
