► Another song I’ve been cooking up for a while now… ever since every YouTuber and streamer was still playing it! I’m content with the result, still –ω– With some caveats, though.
🐾 Here’s another upload containing a number of details that I just know people won’t notice unless I pointed them out in one way or another – even now as I’m going to explain it in the description, I know people don’t read video descriptions anymore, so I’m doing this for those few fans who still do 😸
First is with the music itself, since the main focus is the song, after all. Small mention first: I used a program to separate the various instruments in the original song and layered them over each other in the beginning so that I could fade out only the melodic glockenspiel instrument. In the end, though, I am still using my own glockenspiel patch in a plugin I have. I was going to use the other samples but… no offense to Zeekers… I didn’t like how those were composed, so I rebuilt the music around the main melodic line.
Now, more importantly, I wanted to shout out Zeekers in the song itself, and since he has his own logo image in the Lethal Company files, I hid the image in the audio of the music, using it as a riser in a few places. But since it’s happening as other sounds are happening, I also have it at the start of the breakdown so that it’s more the center of attention. You can view this if you view the song with a spectrogram (if you use the foobar2000 music player, it comes with a spectrogram viewer). That brings me to the video.
🐾 For the video, the biggest detail I just know no one is going to notice is with my model of my fursona doing the Lethal Company dance that I very lazily animated (because the rig sucks and is not for 3D animating). As the background scene changes, I tried my best to match the lighting and color of the model to better fit the scene, hopefully making up for the fact that he doesn’t cast any shadow.
Back to the Zeekers logo hidden in the music, as I said, I just know people wouldn’t recognize it as that just from the audio and likely wouldn’t ever consider checking a spectrogram, so during the breakdown, I just decided to have the spectrogram there so that people can see! I wanted to flex my ZGameEditor Visualizer knowledge a bit, and I used the Projection effect to put the spectrogram visual from the Wave Candy plugin onto the monitors in the ship :3 I think that turned out way better than expected! I also changed the colors in Wave Candy to better fit those in the game.
Lastly, huge shoutout to the free cam mod I used – “SimpleFreeCam” by PixelIndieDev – that allowed me to take the screenshots that I took. If I wasn’t lazy, I would have recorded footage in-game instead of images, but I just wanted to get this song out there finally. Thank you!
