Still had a Shimajiro kick, so I drew this up. In the original series, Shimajiro’s cast was eventually joined by his cousin, Tommy. Tommy was taller and more masculine than his cousin and even spoke some English phrases since he was from England. Sadly, after the first series, he was dropped and still has not appeared since. Shimajiro’s lamb friend, Ramurin, would also leave the show later in the last episode of Shimajiro Hesoka.
There was one rather questionable episode involving Tommy, titled “Invention Irritation”. In this episode, a local professor gives Tommy a serum that he claims will let him breathe underwater. Tommy takes it and later tries it out only to see it doesn’t work. Later on, however, after undressing for a bath, he discovers he’s turned into a girl (yes seriously) after looking in a mirror. Nothing explicit is shown, thankfully, but yeah, something like this would likely get flagged today. Tommy does manage to return to the professor after an awkward bath with Shimajiro and return to normal later.
This pic is based on said episode. What if Tommy couldn’t find the clothes he discarded earlier? With them missing, he had to turn to Shimajiro’s wardrobe. Unfortunately, the only thing that would fit him were the latter’s diapers, his underwear was confiscated by his mother after he tried ditching the diapers one day. With no other option, Tommy slipped one on, hoping he wouldn’t be seen, but Shimajiro chose a rather unfortunate time to walk past his room…
This was fun to draw, still loving this style of diapers. Unfortunately, I did struggle a lot with the hands on this one, I actually had to reach out to friends for advice on how to draw them. I really need to train myself to work with hands better.
Visual Description:

In the background, in the doorway, Shimajiro, another yellow-orange tiger walks by, clad in another Japanese-style diaper he pulls up slightly. He looks into the room and his bead eyes shrink upon seeing Tommy in one of his diapers.
There is a shelf on the right which holds a bottle of Blue Wolf brand baby powder, a pack of Pacific poofs diapers (based on the last picture I made) and a pair of folded overalls belonging to Shimajiro.
