Milkshake and Alice sit next to each other, Alice leaning on her teenage big brothers larger shoulder as their father cooks dinner. The air smelled like cooked tuna.
"Tomorrow's a day off for me..." Milkshake put his thumb and index finger to his feminine chin. "I wanna make a schedule for tomorrow, to make it as fun as possible, but if you plan too hard for something and it doesn't go the way you want, you feel lied to by the world and you feel like you're dying and the world is ending and everyone else around you is dying too, so I don't wanna plan too hard and set myself up for a dissociative episode."
Alice looked up at Milkshake in disapproval like he was an exposed mimic. "Planning for a day where you just have fun is a dumb adult thing to do, Oniichan! It's not fun if you're treating it like a chore!"
Milkshake sighed, not willing to argue with his little sister. "Okay, well what do you do to have fun on an off day!"
"Oh, that's easy! I just get up and start playing!"
"...That's it?"
"That's it!"
"That sounds... Surprisingly simple. But I think doing that just pushes me into autopilot."
"Umm, well, you can make tasks fur yourself if it helps you, but..." Alice smiles widely. "You should have fun with what you're doing, Oniichan! Because when you stress too much you're not smiling. You should be able to smile when you're doing things. I'll even help you! Because you're best when you're smiling, Oniichan!" She beamed.
Milkshake could see the pink cloud of hearts round her as she said that like the main heroine in an anime character. He blushed, tears filled his eyes, how blessed he was to be the big brother of such a beautiful little sister!
"Alice...! I love you!" He cried and threw his arms out dramatically.
"I love you, Oniichan!~" she returned the gesture, almost in slow motion, as they came together in an embrace, filling the room with a shining aura of true love!
The blue cat lying on the floor facing the ceiling, Takumi, simply looked up at the ceiling, looking like a fallen monument to the old imperial order.
"i wish my family would make out in a room where i wasnt brooding for a change."
