Let me tell you a story about the last few years.
I've been pretty fatigued, mentally. Spinning my wheels, not really sure what to do. Honestly pretty depressed and nostalgic for simpler times.
Years ago when characters like Little Foot and Spike were part of popular culture, my friends and I would pretend to be them. It's a lovely image in my mind, complete with green hills and gorgeous blue skies. We had our own Great Valley to run and play in.
They say, as you get older, the past gets brighter and the future gets dimmer. I'm not an optimist when it comes to the future, especially on the subject of technology and "progress". I feel an insatiable need to, rather than look forward, look towards the past for comfort.. in all of it's 4:3, noisy low res glory.
Traditional animation has been a very soothing activity for me the last week, even though the process is slow. I don't know how else to describe it. It's like I am connecting with a previous life, or participating in a healing ritual.
In any case, I hope you enjoy little moments like this. I plan to make more because it's been good for me.
