Robert Robertson the 3rd, the hero of the Torrance Red Ring Crisis, went to a coffee shop after an yet another day of succesful shifts. Lately he'd prefer those over the umpteenth time he's been asked to visit Crypto Night and really, peace and quiet is what Robert prefers at any rate. After making his usual order (black coffee with cookies), he settled on a table. But his time alone wasn't going to last.
-Excuse me, can I sit in here with you?
Robert looked up at the speaker and it was a man who, like Sonar, was a hybrid as evidenced by his badger head.
- Sure, go ahead. I don't mind. Robert replied.
The badger headed fellow then sat down on the opposite side of the table while Robert studied him closely.
- You a new hero on the block by any chance? The only other hybrid I know works in the SDN Torrance's Z-Team that I'm in charge of dispatching.
- Heh, you sure have a good eye. Name's Josh though you can call me Digger if you want. And the reason I'm down here is that I'm on a transfer from SDN's Seattle branch, starting tomorrow morning.
- Seattle, huh? That's so far away. What's your specialties?
- Take a look at these. Digger said while showcasing his hands. Robert noticed that they resembled badger claws, meaning that his hybrid nature extended to other body parts unlike Sonar who only has a bat head except when he's transformed.
- Lemme guess, you dig stuff with those, correct?
- You betcha. Thanks to these hands, I'm well suited to digging through the rubble of collapsed buildings. As well as leaving nasty wounds on criminals. It's not much but at least it pays the bills. To be honest, my true passion lies in gardening.
- Sounds like we'd use a guy like you for sure. You'll never know when somebody might decide to bomb a building or two.
Robert briefly glanced at his watch. It was half past 8 already.
- Well, I think that's enough chit-chat. Dunno what team you'll be transferring to but if you do see any of the Z-teamers around, make sure to give them a 'hello' or something from me.
- I will be sure to keep that in mind.
After exhanging their goodbyes, Robert exited the coffee shop and began walking towards his apartment.
