🔪 Magic Limiters

Magic limiters are devices used to reduce how much mana someone can release at once without actually removing their mana. They’re commonly used by people with extremely high or unstable magical output, with some needing multiple limiters at once.

Physical limiters are usually metal bracelets or collars and have their strength, model, and maximum safe output engraved on them. If pushed too far, they can heat up, crack, glow, or completely fail, potentially causing a dangerous mana surge or even a magic implosion.

There are also improvised magic limiters, where an advanced spell allows an ordinary object, such as a hairpin, to temporarily function as one. These are much rarer due to how difficult and mana-heavy the spell is to cast.
