Itzel was another character I conceived to be one of the Priests of the Colored Eyes, representing the Yellow Eye. To contrast with the fact she is a cute, pink-furred bunny rabbit, I wanted her to be the most bloodthirsty priest of all. And, while the design I came up with is solid in its own right, she looks more like a private investigator than a priest. That, and, like Juan before her, I made her outfit different shades of a color that is completely unrelated to the Colored Eye she represents.
I suppose I made her look like a private investigator to hearken back to the original idea of the "Keepers of the Colored Eyes" each being people of a different profession. In fact, my original idea for Itzel when I first came up with who the Keeper of the Yellow Eye would be was a magician.
This redesign, however, makes her fall in line with the idea of all the keepers being priests or related to religion in some way. Her being an evil nun suits her well, and a redesign I once made when I tried to make Alfonso a full-fledged comic had her look like a nun, but she looked far less interesting there than she does here.
I also could not help incorporating my usual staples: A huge forehead and a furrowed brow.
Overall, Itzel now looks like she radiates far more personality than she did before. You can tell from that look on her face alone that behind that bright pink fur is a murderous monster... and I love it!
