Partly for the heck of it, partly for my own reference - here's Faye's family! And Faye looking a bit more like an exploration team leader!
Forgive me for giving them all short F names, at least they're not Tragedeighs~

Fray - the "fake" son of Faro and Freya. In the dark of night, an egg thief managed to sneak in and fiddle with their eggs - caught in the act, the thief was scared off, but Freya swore one of the eggs didn't look right. When Fray and Faye hatched, they assumed Fray was their 'real' son and the other egg was swapped. But Fray was just some random wild Buizel, never fully acclimating to civilized life as he was meant to be feral, wild and free. He gave Faye that bite on her fin, and might have done worse if left alone.

Faro - A strong-willed Floatzel taking a break from his explorer duties to raise a family! Well, that was the plan, anyway. He spent years trying to raise Fray on his own after Freya kicked him and "his" wild, untamable son out. Fray was eventually let out into the wild and Faro returned to find his old house was empty, and his girl had picked up his old line of work - very unhappy to see the father who "abandoned" her!

Freya - A once wide-eyed lady whose ambitious dreams of raising a perfect family fell apart in the course of a week. Fray wasn't hers, but she couldn't accept that Faye was. Jaded and afraid after forcing the boys out, her heart wasn't in this whole 'mother' thing, and left Faye on her own. (note: I think most pokemon grow up a lot faster and don't have that helpless few years of being a "baby" so it's not like leaving an infant alone - but Faye would have missed out on a lot of socialization and learning being on her own)

Faye - Born to Faro and Freya, but due to a world-changing magical event, she developed in a unique way and came out fairly unique. Faye grew up in a house alone without any guidance and far enough from civilization to end up as a sort of local myth: the "witch" of the bog. Keeping to herself and using what she'd been taught about foraging and potion-making to survive for years, Faye was eventually attacked, and found herself in the care of the local explorer's guild. She can be fearless and stubborn, but spent her formative years with no knowledge or experience in battle, and as a unique water-fairy type, the usual moves don't come naturally to her. Her training led her to be quite tough, so she can take plenty of hits, but can't do much damage.

Fia - Even more of a runt than Faye, Fia was dumped in the wilds after she hatched, clearly not the intended target of the egg switcheroo. She's a feisty gal, adorable, but will kick your butt. Sort of the opposite of Fray: where he was a feral pokemon (attempting to be) raised among the civilized, she was born to civilized parents but spent her life out there in the wild, fighting for her life. Small but mighty, she's still plenty capable of learning to speak, but the wild is all she knows.

(just because this might be on someone's mind right now: I see the potential parallels some might point to on the genetic lineage and civil/feral split thing, but that's absolutely not the kind of message I intend at all. It's not at all how humans work; race does not dictate behavior, and please don't insinuate that that's what I'm trying to sneakily suggest here. The idea of the same kind of pokemon being either feral or civil by nature isn't part of actual lore AFAIK, but I like it as an explanation why so many of them are just walking around in nature being animalistic while others are behaving more like humans.)
