Elijah Willowperch is an aging eagle owl, a strict and no-nonsense businessman, the CEO of WP Products, one of the leading food companies of Central Europe. Founded by his grandfather, this family business has been producing and exporting bug- and soy-based meat alternatives across the continent for three generations now.
He’s also the father of Enoch Willowperch, and the grandfather of Enoch’s and Jemima’s twins, Luke and Lucy.
Elijah controls everything his wings can reach: he took Enoch out of private school when he was only eight, shelters him with the exception of business conferences and meetings, he micromanages his everyday life and his marriage. He even supervises his five-year-old grandson’s diet. When he decides the owlet is getting 'too round', he has his portion of cicadumplings taken away.
He does this to compensate for everything he cannot control: the growing rebellion threatening his industry, his son’s dyslexia, his wife’s illness and the aging of his own body.
Elijah genuinely believes that he does all of this for his family, for their future and wellbeing, yet he tends to forget to support them in the present and be there when and where they actually need him.
As for his voice claim, I believe Charles Dance’s Tywin Lannister captures his cold, menacing owl patriarch vibe perfectly.
