An excerpt from an unpublished Zool fanfic (there's not really much beyond a few more paragraphs to this). Anyways, I just wanted another Zool render. Been toying with his rig lately, trying to figure out how to properly add IK stretching onto an existing rig. I'll spare the technical details but I managed to pull it off.
I modeled everything present here. The cards and book textures are by 33 Games from their 2026 re-issue. Which, I'm very glad they re-issued Zool 1 though idk if I'll buy it. CD32 has the best quality music, graphics and sound, far better than the Genesis version (which they re-issued). Still happy it happened though!
Here's the excerpt:
"...last visited here approximately 30 milky way solar cycles ago whereupon you engaged in combat with Mental Block on a planet named Earth..." The voice continued speak as if it were a recording, Zool only listening in on what he deemed relevant.
Right, he did do that! Back when Mental Block was a threat. He almost bored-ized that galaxy too! Things were so complicated since then. Since then things had been very quiet...boring almost. Gave him plenty of time to explore and enjoy his life. How he ended up here was a different story.
"...planet nearby called Mobius. It consists of carbon-based lifeforms, a vibrant landscape and a remarkable history. It is said that Mobius bears a striking resemblance to your own home planet, Zool."
The machine paused, awaiting a reply from Zool. When he didn't, it continued. "About 2 prior solar cycles ago, the planet's communuication was cut-off from the rest of Sagittaria and a dark void covered it. According to testimony from Earth, all attempts at contacting its inhabitants has failed. Life there has effectively paused."
He didn't consider himself an investigator but had been itching to 'get back in the game'. So when this mystery came up he couldn't help but jump at the opportunity, even grabbing Pure Thought and flying off without telling Zooz and Zoon.
"Zool. I appreciate you letting me ramble but if you're not going to at least pretend like you're interested I don't see the purpose." Pure Thought said, addressing Zool directly.
"No, no. I am. Just thinking."
"Thinking about what, pre-tell?"
"So Mobius is kinda like this place's Loox. You think that this is just their version of Mental Block?"
"It's entirely possible. I wouldn't necessarily compare this event to what Mental Block did. Whatever caused this clearly demonstrates abilities beyond anything Mental Block ever accomplished."
"Maybe, but I think this will be fun."
I also think this is my first Zool render where I show his bare face? Wow.
