I recently got to read again (more like continuing it) Journey to the west, and I wanted to make my own interpretation of the characters, Wukong came first so I’ve been making a few outfits mentioned in the book, searching around for a bit of information and trying to add stuff to complete things with the description given, it’s my best attempt and probably I’ve missed things but this is how the reference has gone so far.
From the first more casual outfit, the Bi ma wen uniform that has no rank or red as an important color, the cuirass armor and phoenix cap, the demon kings gift robe and a underwear options, I still haven’t gotten to the start of the pilgrimage so I probably will add more outfits later
At the end it was the first design I made for him
Another detail was the reddish tint on his eyes, natural pigmentation as in some monkeys it’s viewed as handsome, and if he’s the handsome Monkey King then his face must be a nice red shade, then later his eyes get smoked and stay irritated that way
