"WHAT IN SWEET TARNATION DO YER MEAN WE AIN'T PART OF THE MAIN HEROES NO MORE!?" "THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! I WILL NOT STAND FOR SUCH INSOLENCE, DO YOU KNOW ALL THE THINGS I'VE DONE FOR EQUESTRIA!?"
So, I learned that G6 of My little Pony is very much real and there's been some backlash regarding the fact the AJ and Rarity where not included as "Main Characters" which I also have my issues with. AJ and Rarity were huge pillars of G4 and to have them simply put aside like this and not given their due feels like a real gut punch.
I'm sure this new generation could be fun to watch and we'll see these 2 favourite characters again, but I can't help but feel cautious about it.
My dude, they can't exactlt copy-paste G4 formula to every gen onwards, that would be lazy and I understand the idea from a story writing perspective to start from scratch. That being said, I don't think the lightning will strike twice on the same spot as G4 popularity was such a perfect storm of luck and Faust understanding of the franchise. Even in a ideal world where Hasbro were not money hungry scumbags, pulling another success like G4 is just a matter of luck. There'll be a lot more MLP but I feel there will only be one FIM in our lifetime

I wasn't suggesting a full copy-paste, especially since this is being labeled as a "reimagining" of G4 by those developing it. I'm merely venting a little, I know many others have a problem with this move of not including AJ and Rarity as main characters so it's not just me.
I agree that Hasbro has taken something many of us have come to love and made it their prime money maker and that "pulling another G4" is a long shot, so I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

When I think about it, my "coldness" towards new MLP content is because I'm "satiated" when it comes to this franchise. It's like the 2000s Harry Potter movie in comparaison to the HBO series or the Sam Raimi Spiderman movies in comparaison to the Homecoming movie series or Batman TAS in comparaison to other Batman cartoons, I feel like we already got good incarnations and every further reboot will not be fun enough for me because mentally, I'll keep comparing them to what came before. I feel a bit sad knowing that the older I get, the less I can invest myself into cartoon/movies franchises. Maybe I shouldn't feel bad about it tho, maybe as the saying goes, I shouldn't cry because it's over but I should be happy because it happened
