I mean I don't think it's impossible for them to unabstract. After all, they are still in there. Not to mention in a way, it being left open ended. While we might never see if it does or doesn't happen, it's up for interpretation.

What would their desire for the show to be dramatically a mirror for how people cope with mental health and specifically abstraction suicide and and how abstraction is supposed to be the counterpart for suicide in the amazing digital circus, I don't think that Bruce works is going to canonically explore them on abstracting because how much people don't come back from suicide. Granted it would be great for these characters in this situation and theoretically it could be possible but I think the point of this entire series was to help real humans cope with mental health and suicide so that being the case I think that goose works is just going to have to let these characters deal with those friends of theirs not coming back. I mean theoretically they have until the end of eternity or however long it takes for that computer that's holding their simulation to finally shut down
