Imperial kniit are the only individuals who routinely bow in formal meetings or as apology. Inferiors will bow to superiors, and superiors to inferiors. It's simply expected of them as a societal expectation, because to make direct eye-contact is considered confrontational. Sone had much to adapt to over the years of living in The Syndicate.
