My take on the famous painting by George Frederic Watts (I actually never heard of it, just searched for the "wounded heron reference" and there it was): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wounded_Heron

Or course, I'm nowhere near the master, but I am extremely pleased with the result.

It also is pretty much my first fully digitally painted illustration that I did using just two (!) layers: one for the character, and one for background.
