Shawn… fawning over somebody? I know what some of you are thinking: “Since when does Mr. Grumpy ever have feelings for somebody?” Well, there IS a reason…
Shawn has an ability (which I’ll commission a pic of someday, don’t worry) known as Soul Sight. With it, all he has to do is look at someone and he can see their very soul, making it easy to tell how good or evil they are. It mainly helps him track down targets when he does his job, but in this case it’s helpful for another reason. When he looked toward a cute Shiba Inu who was visiting the city on vacation, he couldn’t believe what he saw. Her soul was… so bright, so pure, as warm and comforting as rays of sunlight on a gentle morning. This girl, this… Isabelle was like a gift from Heaven.
To most demons, that fact would be a turn-off, but Shawn had spent his life being mistreated by his own kind. With the exception of his two uncles and his friend Chimera, every other demon made his life a living nightmare. It got to the point that Shawn gets along better with mortals and angels than with his own people. So someone as sweet as this adorable animal crossing his path… was a person that he couldn’t resist.
Shawn: “Oh my Uncle, she’s… she’s like an angel on Earth. I think… I think I’m in love…”
