There are some songs that refuse to stay in the background. You may hear the first few notes while doing something completely unrelated, like washing the dishes, driving home after work, or organizing your room, and suddenly your foot begins tapping on the floor without you even noticing. Your shoulders sway slightly, your head nods to the rhythm, and before you know it, you're smiling for no particular reason. Music has this strange ability to reach us without asking permission, crossing decades, cultures, and generations as if none of them really mattered. A great song doesn't care when it was written, because the feeling it creates is timeless.
That was exactly what came to my mind while listening to some old rock and roll classics. I wasn't thinking about creating anything at first; I was simply enjoying the music, imagining what it must have been like to hear those songs when they were new, when dance halls were full, polished shoes slid across wooden floors, leather jackets became a symbol of youth, and every beat carried an energy that made people want to move. There is something wonderfully optimistic about that era, an excitement that seems impossible to separate from the music itself, and before long I found myself imagining Dainen stepping into that world as if he had always belonged there.
The more I pictured it, the more natural it felt. His confident grin, the neat hairstyle, the high-waisted trousers, the fitted jacket, and the polished shoes: everything came together as though he had walked straight out of a stage from the 1950s. Under the bright spotlights he doesn't look nervous or worried about making a mistake. Instead, he looks like someone who completely loses himself in the rhythm, pointing toward the crowd with that infectious smile while every movement flows effortlessly into the next. There isn't a single thought in his mind besides enjoying the moment, because for those few minutes nothing else really matters.
I think that's one of the reasons I enjoy music so much. When I'm working on something that demands my full attention, I usually prefer complete silence, but during everything else, music becomes the soundtrack to whatever I'm doing. It changes the atmosphere, changes my mood, and sometimes it even changes the direction of my imagination. A single song can become the beginning of an entirely new idea, not because I plan it that way, but because certain melodies seem to carry entire worlds inside them. All they need is someone willing to imagine them.
Maybe that's why I wanted to generate this scene. It isn't really about recreating the past or paying tribute to a particular singer; it's about celebrating that feeling of joy that music gives us. The kind of joy that makes you dance even when nobody is watching, that makes you forget the weight of the day for a little while, and that reminds you that sometimes the simplest moments become the ones we remember the most. Watching Dainen under those lights, completely immersed in the performance, I can't help but imagine that this is exactly where he'd want to be.
So now I'm curious about you. If you could step onto that stage beside him for just one performance, with the lights shining and the crowd waiting, which classic song would you choose to dance to?
Well, even though I feel a "Burning Love" for Freeside, I can't deny that it feels like "Trouble" to me, precisely because there are so many "Devils in Disguise" around. But you know what? That place it's "Always on My Mind" because I "Can't Help Falling in Love."
Okay, I'll stop with the references now, haha π
