Starting another school year in our life is every time a hard thing to go through. For two months you could stay late, have fun with friends, don't pay attention if it's day or night, and the best part, it's all carefree. But, unfortunately this has its end, just like the beginning. Time forces you to head back to the school desk, listening to things which for the most part, don't even care about. That's the classic way to start it. But life is like a wild animal, it can choose its own path.
What if instead of greeting your good old friends, taking a seat at the same desk you were occupying for years and seeing the same yelling teachers, you will end up in a new place, not knowing anybody, and being alone?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

A quiet knocking filled the room, and soon after the opening fort sound joined the party.

"Tommy, it's time to wake up. Make yourself ready and come to us to eat breakfast" the vixen said.

She waited to see her son giving any signs of life. A little whine came out from the small canine white snout, causing the mother to smile and leave the room.

Thomas firstly rubbed his eyes, cleaning sides from sleep along the way. Sluggishly, but he raised his body up and sat on the edge of the bed. Orange canine attempted to get up from the bed, his feet paws touched the floor, though they were quickly unglued. Tom landed back on the bed, his body got sick from way too quickly changing position.

"That's going to be a horrible day, Tom" he sighed and buried his muzzle into his brown paws. He reassembled in this position for a little more, before he finally got up and in even more sluggish movements he walked to his bathroom.

The young fox lit up the room and slowly looked on the right, in the mirror. He saw himself, looking as if he hadn't slept in three days straight. He shook his head and turned to the toilet to take a leak. Tom had time, so after peeing the boy moved to the shower cabin, pushed the glass door and went inside. He closed the door and grabbed the handle and spun it. The water instantly started flowing, warm, nice, but the fox felt something else.

"Agghrrr, seriously!?", an annoyed boy growled and turned the water off. He forgot about the night clothes still covering his body.

The frustrated fox turned back to exit the shower. He stepped on the nice white rug, still fluffy and comfortable for his paws. It made his face softer. It was time for stripping up. He started with the long black t-shirt, with a few holes on it. Then shorts, also black, similarly full of holes like shooting range target or ementaler cheese. Under the short pants he found another layer, boxers, this time in dark gray colour. He sighed, knowing he didn't take new ones, and those ones he already wore last day. He grabbed by the side of them and pushed down, all the way to his ankles. Tom took a step back and leaned down to grab his underwear, then straight up and brought them in front of himself. He investigated them, closely searching for any signs that would make them bad. Finding nothing, he moved to another step, scent. Curios for the smell of fox took a sniff, deep one. He twisted on face scenting himself in the worst way, though it was only sweat his nether regions poured out.

"You're gonna take another day in service for the good for the fox race", he said to them, very seriously, though cringe won with him and in the end he laughed.

Thomas threw the boxers on the laundry basket and hopped into the shower. Now, without any issues he turned the water on, then raised head up to enjoy the warm liquid invading his hair and fur. Tom didn't really enter there to clean his butt. Before him one of the most, probably actually the most stressful day in his life, and needed some relaxation before it. Water, from the little fluffy ball was his best friend, it understands him, helps him, feels him. Tom just stood there, eyes closed, limp body, letting the water soak him.

A few minutes passed until Thomas felt it was enough pleasure. He reached for his shampoo, lime scent, the beloved one. He is never brushing much, just the surface to make it easier to wash the shampoo off the fur after. In fast moves he reached every part of his body and as he was all white like in winter, he moved under the water stream.

It took him two minutes to consider himself a clean cub. "Time to go, dummy", he said to himself and turned the water off. Before exiting the cabin, he shook his body, like a wet dog, and then got out. He looked towards the mirror, or rather at the fur dryer. There were two options for him, dryer or towel. He doesn't like the hot air flowing at him, though he normally takes the dryer, but this time the fox wanted to save some energy and choose the sweet fluffy towel. With a surgeon precision he dried his body, which is half true since his bushy fur greatly prevent from achieving the goal fully. Tom hung the towel in its place, put on lightly stink underwear, grabbed pajamas and rushed to the new day with a smile!

It wasn't all, he had to decide what to wear on his first day in the new school. Tom dropped in cube his clothes and opened the closet. After a little brain storm the decision was made to take blue jeans and white hoodie, thinking that it would make him look cool or something like that. Once he was dressed, the pup exited the room.

His bedroom was located on the first floor, so he had to overcome the stairs first before reaching the dining room. The young canine chose a slow pace to not trip out. Finally he reached the destination. For him already waited two more foxes, parents, Tom sat on one of the seats, looking down while shuffling his fingers. Suddenly a sharp voice reached his ears from the right side.

"Good morning Thomas, you ain't looking especially good. Is everything fine here, son?".
The kid looked towards the voice, to see his dad standing beside, looking worried.

"I'm scared, dad", his head fell down on the table, eyes closed.

"What are you scared of?" dad replied.

Tom sat up straight. "What if class wouldn't like me and I don't find any friends? What then? I will be so lonely...", it could be heard the sadness with a pinch of horrifying in his voice.

The older canine sat close to the desperate kit. He put his paw on son's shoulder to give him the feeling of support. "Why? You never had any problems with finding friends. This is normal that you are afraid of the new. And besides that, you won't be alone. Your sister will be with you, in the same situation as you."

"But this is different for her", Thomas said a bit irritated. "She is a girl", he added.

"And what's the difference?", dad asked, confused.

"It's easier for her to find friends because she is clever and.... pretty..."

"Do you think that I'm pretty?", a voice from behind interrupted.

Thomas shuddered, hearing a familiar voice, feminine and soft like a cloud. He nervously turned around. Down the stairs walked down a red haired vixen, his sister.
"You don't understand...'' he said, covering his face with embarrassment.

Thomas feeling dumb just sat there, listening to sounds getting closer and closer to him. From the stairs cracks, the noise turned into gentle stamps, louder with every coming one. Suddenly, the kid felt someone hugging him from behind and tickling his sides.

"WAIT....IT TICKLE ME....MAX....PLEASE STOP!", the poor fox was yelling and laughing, trying his best to fight the encounter. His yells worked, as his suffering pleasure ended up soon after.

His sister with a smirk walked on his left side, to take a seat in the nearest wooden chair.

"It's nice to know that I'm pretty in your eyes'', she giggled, "But anyways. Just like dad said, I'm placed in the same situation as u now"

Thomas looked at her disoriented. "Aren't you stressed about it?'', his voice was low, scared, like a puppy that knows it's bad.

"Of course I am! However, this is only a matter of time when we both will hang out with a new group of friends" she said with conviction and courage in voice.

"I don't know... I hope...".

Vixen grabbed her brother's paw. "Remember, I will be somewhere there, so if something will bother you just come to me and let me know, ok?".

"Yes, I will. Thank you Maxie", this was enough to make him cheerful.

"Breakfast ready" the mother said loudly from the kitchen counter. Everyone turned eyes at her, already walking with plates of eggs and bacon. As she reached the table she handed them to both of her kids. Afterwards she came back for two more plates and handled one for her husband, the other she kept.

Most of the meals in Anderson's house look similar. Kids eating in silence, listening to the dialogue between both parents. Most of the time is boring, but it can get more spicy and funnier when topics dividing two adult foxes enters the salons. Though, this meal was rather calm and nice.

Thomas ate first, immediately throwing his plate to the dishwasher and heading next to his bathroom to brush his teeth. As his teeth were white and sharp, he went down to the ground floor and sat on the couch, waiting for his sister. In the meantime he was contemplating the coming day. He wonders what the new class would look like. What will be his first friend, if he finds any...
His overthinking concert in mind got interrupted.

"Tommy I'm ready, how about you?" Max asked.

"Yup, let's go", the cub jumped from the sofa and walked to his sister.

They headed towards the front door, where a shoe pad was placed besides. After putting on the shoes, both exited the house, firstly saying good bye to their parents. The building was located approximately 10 minutes by car from where they live, so the only way to get there was taking a school bus. Fortunately, parents thought about that and they chose a house where the bus stop is just a few houses away. They soon arrived, together they sat down on the bench to wait for their transport.

Max looked on he brother, still looking depressed. Feeling bad for this little fluff she hugged him tenderly. "Everything will be alright. You wouldn't even realise when you become surrounded by other kids'', she said, in a nice, motherly caring tone.

"Certainly...'' Tom replied.

Soon the bus arrived, and siblings went in. They first greeted the bus driver, then they took a seat in the nearest empty seats. Thomas took out his earphones, Max copied, taking out her red headphones.

Thomas changed his tactic. He turned off his thinking and just let himself relaxed in the seat. From time to time his brain was activating, trying to push all those scary thoughts, though Tommy didn't let them took control of him. Max next to him was in completely different shape. She had to hold her tail, because it was wagging, wagging in excitement. Her lips gave up though, stretching in a wide, almost psycho type smile.

Just like that, two different personalities from one roof reached their new place. The bus stopped at the bus station, taking one of four parking slots. Thomas, since he took the window seat could already watch the outside area. His ears turned backwards seeing the scale of his new school.

"Come one Tommy, it's time for us to shine!", Max cheered, and pushed herself up.

Thomas disoriented looked at her. She was already by the driver's doors saying thank you for the ride.

"Hey! Wait for me!", the little fox rocketed out from his seat, and at lightning speed he was already next to his sister, or rather glued to her side like a scared pup to his mom.

Max looked back then down at him. "How did you...ehh...nevermind", she just smiled at him and led them out of the bus.

They moved forward until they reached the nice looking and high fence. Both take a stand, frozen watching the building and park before him.

The structure was two-floored, made of red bricks, with stairs wide at the bottom and slimmer at the top, all ended by a giant two doors. The park itself was filled with benches, curly paths, trees and bushes, along with plenty of vegetation. Finally one of them broke the silence.

"It's...so huge", Tom said with shock and shake in voice.

"Yes it is, I hope they have any maps or something" she laughed. "We still have a quarter to our first class so let's maybe take a walk around. What do you think?" she asked.

"I would love to" he replied, waiting for her to  take a step forward. Max didn't want to wait a second, so she made the step for both.

They started to explore the park. It seemed really cosy. Trees perfectly protect the area from the sunlight. The air was surrounded by the scents of plants, which were everywhere. From the entry to the stairs to the building there was one wide stand path, scattering small paths to the sides, deeper into the park.

The siblings took the middle road, though walking slowly. They reached the stairs, and together went up them and through the doors that were open wide already. In front of them were other stairs, leading to the upper floor. On both sides there were corridors, with lockers for students and named doors leading to specific classrooms, like math or chemistry. They headed towards one of the wide corridors, searching for their classrooms. They found Thomas one.

"I guess this is yours" Max said.

"Emm...yes, it seems like it, but I don't want to go there now, we haven't found yours yet".

"I can find it by myself, and besides that, not too much time left, so it's better for you to go inside" she patted Thomas head.

"Are you sure?", Tommy asked quietly. Deeply inside he just didn't want to separate from his sister. He wanted to be with somebody for a bit more before the scary part starts.

"Yup, I can take care of myself", she smiled and winked.

,,Okay...then see you l-later", he said even more quite. Voice cracked at the end.

Max heard that, instantly grabbing him in her hug. "You're gonna rock her, as always! Don't you dare think otherwise, because if you do, I'll beat your ass", she joked, making both laugh.

Tommy broke the hug and looked up at her. "We will be the best here!", he cheered.

"And even more!", Max replied. She put paw on brother's black hair and petted. "Have a beautiful day, Tommy".

"You too, Maxie".

Max, feeling she did her best to make her lil brother feel better, she turned backwards and walked in her direction.

Thomas stood still, with growing fear seeing as his sister moved away, disappearing in the horde of different species furs. The feeling that he was afraid of just appeared. He was left alone, abandoned to his fate. Suddenly someone bumped on him, knocking him to the ground.

"Oh sorry I haven't seen you! Are you alright?", a young, worried voice said.

Thomas looked up, seeing a beige siberian husky at his age, with quite long hair and beautiful blue sea eyes. He was offering his white paw to help.

"Ehmm...I'm okay", he said in a low voice and joined his own paw.

The other canine used all his strength to help the fox stand up straight. As Tom stood on his own, he could now see how much bigger was the boy compared to him. The taller cub was also measuring the fox. Finally the husky spoke.

"I have never seen you here before, are you a newcomer?" he asked, slightly tilting his head, just like curious huskies do.

"I-I...Am" Tommy stuttered a bit.

"Oh..It's okay! Can I help u somehow? I can show your classroom if you haven't found it yet.", he smiled wide.

"I found it actually...", the fox pointed at the entrance to the room on the right, behind the husky boy.

The boy looked in that direction. "Here? It's also my classroom! It seems that we are going to have classes together." His tail started to wiggle. "Come with me" he added and walked into the class.

Thomas was in shock by what just happened. He followed the beige canine. The room was already filled up by different species of furs, all young like he. The beige cub walked further, greeting some of them. Suddenly, he turned around, seeing the fox still standing close to the entrance, as if waiting for rescue. The boy smiled and moved towards Thomas, grabbed his paw and led them to the empty desks close to the window.

"Nobody sits here, so u can claim it" husky said pointing on the seat. He pivoted at the one beside and took a seat. The smaller boy took the indicated desk.

"I believe I haven't introduced myself. My name is Levi", he rose up an open friendly paw for a handshake, "What's yours?", he added.

Tommy looked at the boy. He wore an amazing smile, looking so friendly that Thomas automatically felt lighter in the chest. His eyes cast down, meeting the white paw. He joined own and shook. "Mine is Thomas. Nice to meet you, Levi", as he said that he felt squez on his paw. It was a weirdly nice sensation...

"Nice to meet you too, Thomas", Levi replied happily and let fox's paw go.

A few more cubs rushed inside the class, being chased by the ringing school bell. Even if theoretical classes just started,  everyone was still talking loudly about their weekends and plans for the upcoming days. Thomas was sitting in his chair, thinking about the situation that happened right away in his first encounter and how accidental it was. Inside, the fox felt a bit of a relief that he already talked with somebody. He could feel he has back...

A few minutes later the teacher finally showed up. Thomas scanned what his first tea was like. It was a female Capricorn, which looked like the typical math teacher.

"Good morning kids, hope you are all rested and ready for a new dose of knowledge!?", she cheered, meeting with the unpleasant reaction of all the students that began whining.

"Ohh enough. I won't be very mean for you today" she tried to calm down them with that promise, which helped.

Math for Thomas was always a kind of boring lesson, but he was quite good at it. Maybe here is the issue? He does all the exercises the fastest in the class then has nothing to do! His fox being makes it even harder, as he has to do something. It's like a kid without a phone, but born like that naturally. Anyway, Tom didn't really care what he would start with. He had to acclimatize to the new environment somehow.

"I will check the attendance list, and you open books on the page...I guess 65. Anyway, where we last stopped", the teacher suddenly said from her desk. She leaned over the computer, typing something and clicking.

Thomas took the book out, new and still smelly of the new! He opened the page he was asked for. Seeing a lot of text, and only this, he moved his sense of concentration on the attendance list the teacher started checking. He listened to the names and wondered which number he will have and what's gonna happen when the teacher says his name.

"Tho...Thomas Anderson. Which one is it?" She asked, looking around over the class.

The fox raised his paw with hesitation. "It's me", he said, voice low, trying to hide but enable to fight the truth who is hiding behind this name.

The Capricorn found the boy, sitting behind her own desk. She saw a little boy, sitting at a too big desk, too big a chair. Also, it was a fox, which made her smile even wider. "Hmm, no one even told me about a new student. Would you like to introduce yourself?", she asked.

That question made his blood cold like ice along with his body. That was one of the things in his bingo that Tom was scared of the most. Standing in front of all these new faces looking directly at him. The horror just began for this little fella...

Even with all these bad feelings he managed to get up from his seat. He took his first step, and before his eyes appeared black dots, stars, feeling the wave of fear devouring him. He took a big breath and pushed forward, slowly walking in the middle of the classroom. He turned backwards, to see everyone looking directly at him. He sighed and travelled eyes over everybody. Levi out of all of them looked the most interested, paws under the chin, holding his smiley face.
It's time Tommy, you got this! - Tom thought.

"So, hi" he waved nervously, "my name is...Thomas. I've arrived from...South US. I-I don't really have any hobbies but...I do like music, writing and drawing, sometimes I guess...So again, hi", he felt goosebumps ran through his body like electricity. It was an awful experience, but from the faces he saw his introduction goes well. But there was one that seemed to be in bliss. Levi had a grin, and the tail behind him went crazy. It made tom laugh in mind

"Thank you, Thomas. You can sit now", the teacher said.

Tommy moved away and sat with a bit more relief. He knew that this is only one of the steps that he needed to overcome, but still, he felt better.

"You did really well!", the familiar voice said from the side.

Tommy looked at levi. The excited boy was obviously gazing at him with tons of admiration in his sea blue eyes. "Thankie", Tommy smiled.

"Melody!", the teacher yelled, causing both boys to sit straight in the chair. "You will talk with your new friend after my lesson. Understand?".

Levi promptly nodded. "Y-yes of course, Ms.Tilman", his voice shook a little bit, like in a poor little puppy.

The class began. Thomas despite the teacher growling, feels comfortable. The subject was about exponentiation, that Tom already had in his previous school so it wasn't any problem for him. He even enjoyed it, even if it was just listening, interwoven with silly classmates answers on the teacher questions. In Thomas minds something settled. The boy, so nice for him, so funny when he speaks. He was curious how his new friend could surprise him...

The bell rang finally. All the students at once ran out of the classroom, as if the fire stir up, though in this circumstances math was the danger for them. The little fox didn't rush, just waited for everyone to exit. He wasn't the only one staying. Levi also waited. Just like Thomas he packed up and just stood by his desk, watching everyone leaving. Finally, the last cub exited the room. The beige canine turned himself at the fox.

"W can go! Follow me, I will take us where the next class will be placed", he winked and moved forward.

Tommy watched Levi moving away, gorgeously smiling with paws around the backpack belts.
"I would be very grateful!" he replied, set in chase by this mysterious boy.

As Thomas caught up, Levi grabbed him by his right wrist and started leading throughout the crowded corridor. Tom this time felt like his chest got excited, him himself felt happy for some reasons. They went to the second side of the building and stopped halfway through the wing.

"And there we are!", he stood proudly, pointing at the doors.

"Thank you very much for you-I-I mean your help!", Tom burned up like a tomato.

The bigger canine's ears fluttered. He came closer, his eyes cast down, looking at the embarrassed friend with head tilted lightly, and smiling brightly like a new day. "Don't need to, I just love helping others. If you will need anything, then without any hesitation, ask me! I would love to help you!", he winked, patted the fox's shoulder and turned around, stepping into the classroom. Thomas with happiness sculpted on face followed the beige white canine.

They were first this time. Both of them took the similar places as they had a moment before.

"You said that you can draw. What kind of things are you drawing?" Levi asked unexpectedly as he sat down.

"Em...well, It all depends on what my mood is, also emotions or what inspired me to." Fox replied.

"Oh, I understand. So... If you would like to draw something now, what would it be?", the question came out shyly from this husky's muzzle.

Tom didn't expect such a question. He didn't know what his thoughts were, except a bundle of confused thoughts. "That's... Hard to answer" Fox replied confused.

Levi's face turned thoughtful. "Then...maybe differently. What do u feel now?", He looked concentrated at the fox.

This question caught him off guard. Tom  felt several emotions. He was still stressed and afraid but also happy that he is not completely alone. Levi was a huge support for him, but how to express it didn't come out awkward?

"I feel better than before, thanks to you", he twisted inside as he said it loud.

The answer made the beige husky visibly happy. "That's wonderful! I'm happy that I made you more comfortable", even his tail started to wag furiously.

The bell out of nowhere rang. They didn't even notice when all the students came. Even the loud talking didn't bring their attention.

"We will talk later, Tommy", levi said and sat straight in his chair.

Thomas felt how he got hot on his face. He didn't have to see, he was blushing, must be really hard since he felt it was so strong. He looked the other way, at the window. "Yeah, we will...", he said silently, probably to himself. Nobody except his family was calling him Tommy. Maybe one or two friends did too, but that was very rare anyway. It's a more intimate way to call him, which this boy just rammed like a speeding truck against a wall.

"Morning y'all!", somebody said from the door.

Tommy hesitantly looked there, seeing an elephant wearing a formal suit and carrying a briefcase. He sat down in the elegant chair and began checking the attendance list. He reached Tom, greeted him and introduced himself as a history teacher, named Adam. He didn't ask for any more information about the new student, just left him and moved on. After checking, he started the lesson.

The topic was about trading by the sea and how it changed in time. Shocking thing, Thomas was actually listening, which is rare for this little fox. He was surprised by the passion and how thrillingly the teacher tells. The fox listened with curiosity to everything that came to his ears.

Unfortunately, every good needs to end. The bell cut the elephant mid sentence, making him say: "And the rest, I'll tell you next time".
All the students took their bags and went out of the room. Levi was this time first leaving. He did it for no purpose, since he stood next to the entrance, waiting for Thomas. As before, he again proposed help and added that he can be fox's private guide for today. That made the orange canine happy.

The next class was chemistry. The boys didn't talk much, because the teacher was already in the class, prepping something for the class. The teacher was also a fox but the white one, probably arctic fox considering his size. As the bell rang and every cub found a place to stand, the teacher showed the reaction of water with potassium. Students were shocked by how strongly they reacted with each other.

After chemistry Thomas got led to another class. He dropped his backpack and felt pressure below his tummy.

"I'll be right back!", he said to the beige husky and headed towards the exit.

Levi instantly sprang up to his feet. "Where are you going?", he asked, on the way to the fox.

Thomas turned around. "I need to pee. Just wait, I'll find a way".

"Oh. Okay okay, I believe in you! Just turn left and go forward. You will find toilets there", he smiled and...just stood there. His eyes fixed at the orange canine, which began to feel awkward.

"Umm...thanks! In a moment", Tom found the right words to tell the boy. He rotated and the way to get out.

Almost immediately at the door outside someone patted his right arm. His first thought was obvious.

"Max! Uh...", he missed the point. The interrupter wasn't his sister, it was a grey wolf, standing now in front of him.

"Hi! Not max, but Oliver! Since we're in the same class, I'd like to get to know each other.", he stuck out his paw for greeting, smiling madly.

With embarrassment sculpted on his features, Tom joined the paw "Hi, mine's Thomas", they shook paws.

"Are you going to the toilet?", the wolf asked comfortably.

"Yes... I do?", Tom felt weird after hearing this question.
Are you all fans of toilets or something? - he thought.

"Great, so do I! We will be able to talk a bit on the way", he said it with grin and grabbed Thomas wrist. He moved forward, leading the fox. "You are quite lucky that you came across Levi right away" he said.

"Ye..I do- I-I mean I guess", Tommy cringed deep inside. "But why lucky?", he questioned just to change the topic quickly. He already ate too much stress so far.

Oliver giggled under his nose. "Levi is the head of our class and my best friend too. He would probably talk to you sooner or later anyway"

"Oh, I was really lucky then", Tommy felt something. It was a weird kind of shock by how fate treated him, so well, so gently. "I like him. He seems very friendly" Tom added.

"Yup, this is the whole Levi. Everyone likes him because he never lets anyone feel outstanding or bad, even if it requires to get out of his comfort zone or even sacrifice."

Tom felt a weird, nice feeling after hearing it. it's like his body I felt relief and peace, but stronger, especially in his chest. "It's beautiful how nice a person he is".

They reached the destination. Both chose their cabins and do what they had to do. Afterwards, like well-mannered pups they washed paws then exited the room and towards the class.

"After that class there will be a recess. I want to introduce you to mine and also Levi's friends. Would you like to?", the wolf asked, sweetly, as if begging a bit.

Tommy felt happy for this proposition. "Yes of course! I would love to!", his tail began wagging from excitement. He already got to know with two guys, and now he is going to meet more? That was a bit overwhelming for him because he wasn't prepared for such a welcoming.
Maybe Max was right? - He thought.

Oliver's face was covered in light pink at the view of the happy fox. "Awesome! With Levi we will take you to the cafeteria on the next break. For now though, let's try not to-", the bell rang, cutting him mid sentence, "Exactly this! We're gonna be late!", he exclaimed and grabbed Thomas paw, then set up towards the classroom.

Two cubs penetrated the corridor like in love bullets. One minute with the watch in hand, and they were already back to their places.
"I see that you talked with Oliver, that's cool. About what were you two talking?", the creamy canine asked, before even Thomas managed to take a seat.

Before leaning over the question Tom had to take some breaths to let lungs feed. As he was ready, he straightened up and looked at the beige husky. "Ymm...he was talking about...you" he said with little hesitation, maybe shyness, not really knowing if he should tell this in particular.

"Seriously? What did he tell you? Of course if I can ask...", Levi's eyes lost themselves, led by mild embarrassment. He seemed to be curious about the answer but also afraid of something.

It changed the game. Thomas now felt dominative and more courage to express more. The reaction of his new friend was strange, making him extra curious why that is. "Yes, of course you can! He told me that you are the head of this class and a very good person. Shortly, only in superlatives" Tom grinned at the boy, that began flashing like a red light on the road.

"That's...very nice of him", he looked further away to cover his red face.

Luckily for levi, the bell rang. He breathed a sign of relief. The teacher soon later came, and started the lesson. Physic, something nobody has to show to a fox. The topic was about light and how it behaves in different environments. The lion teacher showed what is going on when light penetrates throughout different kinds of transparent objects, like glass, plastic bottle or prism. Tom already used this knowledge when he was younger. With friends he was using loupe to set up on fire several things, paper, dry grass, or when the sadistic side spoke, ants.

The physics was interesting, and Thomas had fun watching the light. Somebody had fun too. Levi, in every possible occasion was watching Thomas, his face, his sweet being. It felt weird, in his mind, though somehow nice and soothing. His body was in peace.

The bell finally rang and everyone left the class leaving the past behind them. Thomas exited last again, he just turned slow mode with packing up. He noticed levi exiting the fastest out of all cubs. It was weird, because he just left without words. Anyway, he finally got himself ready and got out of the physics den. Outside he met the view of his two new friends talking. Unfortunately, even if he is a small boy, his presence couldn't be missed by the one.

"L-let's talk about this later, okay?", Levi said to Oliver in a nervous way. He received a nod, so he turned at the fox.

"Are you coming with us to eat some goodies in the cafeteria, Tommy?", still blushed, less but viably he asked the little guy in his cute voice, something in between forced courage covers by shyness.

Thomas didn't answer right away. The way Levi spoke was funny for him. He wheeled head deep on the side and took a quiet but lucrative breath. It was supposed to calm his laugh gathering inside him, which actually worked. "Yes I do", Tom replied finally, while spinning face back at the boy.

"Excellent!", levi burst out, clearly too loud, though he seemed not to mind it this time." follow us!", with that he strode forward.

The three cubs made their way to the cafeteria. Nothing special about this place, just dozens of places to sit by the table and cafeteria counter to get the food. They lined up in queue to take trays with the meal. First was Oliver, who immediately rushed to take a seat as he got his tray. He walked in the close right corner of the cafeteria, one of the best and the most peaceful places out of all. Next was Levi that decided to wait for the fox. Thomas joined him shortly after taking own food.

"Thanks for waiting for me".

"You don't have to. This is the right thing to do in my eyes.", Levi smiled tenderly.

Both headed to the table where Oliver sat. There were three more cubs with him. Levi sat in front of his best friend and invited Thomas to sit on his side. Tommy accepted the invitation.

"So guys, this is Thomas, he is new here. Thomas they are my friends, Matthew, Luke and Benjamin." He said it pointing at them one by one.

"Nice to meet you Thomas!" Matthew enthusiastically said.

"Me too" fox replied.

"How are you doing so far?", Benjamin added the question.

"Em...I thought it would be bad before I came here, but fortunately I was wrong."

"That's awesome to hear it!", the last one spoke, Luke.

"If I can ask, what's the reason why you change school?", Matthew asked.

Tommy felt a warm building in his body. He didn't want to talk about true reasons. But he couldn't just say nothing or lie. "I-don't wanna...".

"Maybe let's start to eat guys, we need to have strength for the rest of our lessons". Levi cut, seeing Tommy's unwillingness about this topic.

"Yes you're right, we have PE now so it's better to start eating. We don't want to be late for the meeting as well as being hungry!" Oliver added to support his friend.

The boys started the meal. On the trace Thomas found white rice in some kind of sauce with chicken pieces and salad on the side. Everyone thought it was going to be a funeral dinner, but somebody had another plan.

"We can't be silent guys! We have a new friend that might like to hear something about us. Shall we introduce ourselves to Thomas?", Luke was the one that broke the silence. A classic looking cheetah with black hair varied by blue stripes couldn't just not do anything except eating. His nature was too painful for that.

Everyone looks at themselves. Facial expressions were mixed, some scared, some excited or curious.
"I'm up for that actually", Oliver said, "Let's show who we are!".

"If it's really necessary...", Mathew, a Calico cat muttered.

"For me it's okay. Who starts then?", the last cub, Benjamin the coyote added.

"Well, If you asked, then maybe you should?", the cheetah suggested, with a full of mischief grin.

"Son of a...fish", Benji mumbled, quiet, though sitting next to him gar wolf Oliver snorted.

"Come on! You are the most interesting one for sure!", Oli snickered.

Coyote in revenge stabbed the wolf's side with his elbow, causing him to whine and laugh at the same time. The table laughed with him. "Alright alright y'all! Lemme shine for a bliss moment. Ekhm...So I'm interested in anything that contains electronic and automatic. I like robots, I want to build one actually, but my mom says 'It's not time for this. School is more important'- bleh", he pretended to vomit. The cubs giggled.

"Isn't she right here? How's math going Benji?", Luke teased.

Benjamin turned his irritated face at him. His eyes could cut through steel at this point. "How is math going", he mocked, "That I started bad, it doesn't mean I'm ain't gonna end up better than you!", he yelled.

"Ouch...ego in danger", Chee continued teasing.

Coyote at this point painted on red, anger bursting out of him. "You better pray to not end up in danger soon!".

Luke couldn't anymore. He burst out from laughing so hard that his eyes began crying. Everyone else wasn't better, they also joined him. It finally occurred to Benji  that he just allowed himself to be provoked. In the accompaniment of laughs him himself joined own vocals to the orchestra. It took a minute before the table calmed down.

"Sorry Benji for that. I just couldn't say no to such a perfect opportunity!", Luke said.

"I'll beat your ass anyway", the coyote winked at him. "Now it's your turn".

"Fair enough", he agreed and brought his eyes to Thomas. "Heyo Tommy! I'm Luke, the slowest cheetah in the world, though still winning in every race! Except that I play basketball, in school, playing as a point guard. That's...pretty much", he gave a nice smile at the end.

"My turn", Oliver announced, "I love nature. Spending time in woods next to a lake, camping or just hiking. I also play a lot of games. That's all about me. Your turn Matthew!".

Matt was sitting at the end of the line before Thomas. He was the most colourful one since he was a Calico cat with green short dark hair. He seemed to be the most shy out of all.
"Umm..so I'm Matthew. It's a pleasure to meet you Thomas. My hobby is music. I like to listen to it, as well as making it by myself. I can play on guitar and piano, soon maybe violin. I don't really share it with anyone, but you seem to be a nice person. So..hi!", his voice was adorable. He didn't just look shy, he was an introvert in full shape. Thomas listening to him couldn't get rid of the genuine smile.

"Thank you guys for sharing a port of yourself", Thomas spoke, happy how his new friends were open to him. He loved how divers they are. Everything they said he considered as something he could get into and have a lot of fun! It was quite surprising, since his old friends just liked to play games and be silly.

But, somebody didn't introduce himself. At least not fully. Tom looked at Levi next to him, already with an empty tray. "Levi, and you?", he nudged his shoulder.

"Me what?", he asked confused.

Tommy rolled eyes. "Tell me more about yourself! I know more about your friends than you, even if I know you a bit longer!", his playful mixed with serious tone makes the table laugh, except Levi that seemed to be flooded by a wave of stress.

Levi's eyes took a walk from one friend to another, all locked in him, like on some kind of mentor. He eventually reached Thomas. He, as the only one in the table looked differently. His lips stretched up like the arms of a mother greeting his cub after summer camp. His green eyes were full open, shiny, mirroring Levi's face in them. Thomas was visibly smaller than him, levi had looked down, while his orange furred friend upwards. It looked like a couple of small girls and built up boys, though in this story both of them were on the same side...

Tommy seemed to be enchanted too. The calmness he saw in this husky boy was unbelievable. He felt safe, even if they just met today. He could say something, push levi to speak, but he liked the state they were both now. Peace and understanding was what played for both of them...

"Ekhm-ekhm", Luke coughed loudly.

Levi sent his head on him, fear of a cub that got caught on something wrong painted on his face. Thomas not better, he found his rescue in the remains on the tray.

Their chaotic reactions meet with giggles from the rest of the four boys sitting in front of them. Each fighting with their own desire to call what just happened out, or just burst out laughing, what sounds like a better option.

"Levi, what do you like? Are you gonna share it with us?", cheetah with his classic mischievous smile asked the stressed beige puppy. He knew what levi felt at the moment, though the temptation to laugh a little bit was too strong. Anyway, he was doing his friend a favor!

Levi understood what he had to do. He sighed softly, ears flicked sideways, then his gaze wandered at the fox again. Thanks I was already curiously looking at him. His fox's face was red, just like his own husky's snoot was. His jaw fell down, tongue got ready for work, but then, a miracle happened.

The shrilly bell cut through the cafeteria. It doesn't mean the recess was over, it rang 5 minutes before the end, so students had time to bring back trays and headed to the next classes.

For Levi it was a relief. It wasn't that he didn't want to share himself with Thomas, he badly wished for that, but thought doing it more privately could be a better option.

"Ugh... well, maybe next time?", Levi said to the rest of his friends. The boys like a choir sighed.

"We will remember this", Oliver said, leaving his seat. His destination was the tray return station, but he stopped beside Levi and leaned over his ear. "You are too obvious, dummy", he whispered then with a cheeky grin walked away.

Levi with a knot in his stomach shot in pursuit by his wolf friend. He caught him without efforts. "W-what do you mean?", he asked.

Oli looked at him with a sly smile. "With both know, Levi. Do it slowly, and I bet you will have what you desire", he winked at the end.

Levi's friend knows everything about him. He knows all his desires and secrets, even the ones he himself don't remember. Levi closed his eyes, feeling how his uncontrollable nature is clearly visible, like through a glass. "Damnit..."

"Hey, chill out! I can help you a bit if you want. Do you?", Oliver didn't want to grab his best friend's plans, he wanted to help him in the end.

Levi looked at him with hope. "Do you think he gonna like me?".

The wolf laughed softly. "You talk as if he already wasn't interested in you".

They reached the tray station eventually and returned their trays. As they turned back, they found Thomas, smiling with a swaying bushy tail.

Levi as if forgot everything his friend told, grabbed by fox's plastic board. "Lemme take it", he said.

Thomas loosened the grip and let the tray be taken away from him. "Thank you", he said as the boy returned to him with empty paws.

"Shall we go? I don't want us to be late, you know", Oliver quickly cut what was building before him.

"Yeah sure. Let's go sweat a bit!", Levi cheered up enthusiastically. He moved forward within. Thomas joined his side.

This time Oliver was leading the way. The cafeteria had two exits, one back to school, and a second outside. The wolf choose the second route. As Thomas breathed the fresh air, he could watch how huge the territory the school has. There was a court for volleyball and basketball, gridiron and an athletics track. There was also a gymnasium as a separate building at the opposite side to them. All of this amazed Tom even if he wasn't any kind of sporty boy.

They had to get dressed up in clothes to sweat, so Oli brought them to the gym where thechanging rooms were placed. They went inside, went through the corridor and entered through the door with a boy sign. The room was divided by a wall into two spaces with lockers. Also there were doors with a shower sign, so Thomas assumed they were showers there.

Thomas quickly left his friends and walked to the farthest locker possible, hidden behind the wall. For a moment he was alone, but unfortunately he heard steps. He took a look behind to find no one other than Levi approaching him.

"Can I join you?", the beige husky asked softly.

There is an obvious reason why I chose these. I'M TOO EMBARRASSED TO CHANGE AROUND OTHERS - Tommy yelled in mind.

"Well...I don't know...", he wasn't too happy about the situation he found himself in. He liked him, but stripping up, even if just to his underwear seemed too intimate. But, when he looked at Levi, standing there with hope for agreement in his eyes, he just couldn't say no.

Beige canine noticed Tom's reluctance. "It's completely fine. If you need privacy then I will go to others", he said with clear disappointment. He turned away and started strolling off.
Why do you want it so much?

"Wait" he sighed. Levi quickly pivoted back. It looked comical, as if he was only waiting for him to speak. "You can stay here", he said.

"Seriously? Are you sure?" he asked with excitement in voice and came closer.

No I'm not, but I don't want to make you sad because of this - Thomas thought
"Yes, I am"

"Great! I'll not interrupt you", excited husky, happy for his victory plopped on the bench.

Both cubs started to undress and take out their sporty clothes. Fox took care of his shirt first, replacing it with a black breathing one. Then he moved to his pants. With hesitation he grabbed by the edges of them and gradually lowered down. As he does that, he felt eyes on himself, which weren't his own. On the edge of his sight he saw Levi looking at him. He wasn't watching him undressing directly, but by peeking up while pretending to be searching the bag. The older canine thought he was smart, but in reality, he looked like a pervert observing  his new friend's, having a perfect view on his little half naked body. Now Tom understands more. Levi wanted to be here with him, because he wanted to see him in full shape, but the fox hasn't reacted to that. Thomas felt for some reason pleasure by feeling eyes on himself. He just continued changing as if nothing happened. After a while he was ready to go.

"Alright, I'm ready", Tom said.

"Yup me too" husky replied, shockingly actually being dressed up differently. It shocked Thomas.  "Then well, let's join our class!", with that they headed to the exit.

At the door Oliver joined, so now again three  Musketeers went outside where the PE teacher was already waiting for his students. The trio was first there, so they had to wait for other classmates. A couple minutes later everyone gathered, so the teacher, a black panther began.

"Good morning everyone! Hope y'all are doing great. Today you are going to run on time!", his parish announcements didn't meet with much positive reactions.

"I know, I know, it's not the most exciting activity, probably soccer is in your mind, but I need to do it before it gets colder. Let's Warm up".

The head of the warm up was the teacher itself. Everyone was repeating the movements he was doing, gradually scratching out every part of the nobody, especially legs. 5 minutes later the panther finished and ordered the kids to sit on the bench close to the starting line.
They were going to run in groups, five kids in each one. The distance was 400 meters. Tommy was 21 on the students list so he had to wait  four rounds for his turn. In the first two groups there was no one that fox could know. However in the 3rd one, Levi was called. Thomas kept his fingers crossed for him.
Husky started badly, being the last one out of his group. However, this was strategy. Around 2/3 of the length he shoot forward, passing first, then second and just right before the finish line he managed to overtake third cub, himself setting up on second place in his group. Tom congratulated him after, and Levi appreciated this, at least this is what Tommy assumed from his mumbling mixed with heavy breaths.
Next round Oliver went running. He looks like an athlete guy so it didn't surprise anyone that he finished first. He got praised by the teacher and other classmates.

Now it was time for Thomas. He stood up and wanted to head towards the start line, but someone grabbed by his wrist. Tom turned around to see Levi.

"I want to say good luck to you. Your group isn't an easy one. Don't worry if you do poorly, I would probably be the last" he laughed.

"Thanks for wishing me last place", Tom also laughed but inside he felt anxious. Levi sat down on the bench and the fox took the first place in the line.

Thomas always hates running. All because of how exhausting it is. However, what he hates more is doing things only halfway. This habit always puts him in a good position in running between his classmates.
When Tom waited on the starting line he looked around, seeing two wolves, border collie and lynx. All of them were bigger than him, which isn't anything hard to achieve.
I'm looking ridiculous in front of them...- He thought.

"Okey kids, get ready", the teacher announced, "Three, two, one...GO!"

And they shot forward like bullets. Unexpectedly, from the beginning Tom was keeping the pace of the other furs. They all went into the bend almost together. Next was the straight line, where Thomas showed his fox skills. His short, but agile legs pushed him forward, leaving four boys behind him. He made quite a good distance between him and the second placed kids thanks to this. It looked too good to be real though.
Thomas started feeling his legs were getting weaker, but he knew the finish of it was closer than further. He decided to clench his teeth and fists and push himself to the limits. Tom overcame the bend, to see the finish line, with all students standing close to it, cheering up. Tommy saw only one boy there. Levi, like an overexcited dog was jumping, yelling his friend's name, cheering up, as if the fox was about to win millions of dollars.
That cheered him up to use all the power left in him. His lower limbs were already on the edges of endurance, sore, and moving on autopilot, but it was too late to stop. The line was just a few yards from him. He closed his eyes, and let fate decide...

Thomas crossed the finish line. He saw it, but from the insane yells he came to the conclusion it was over. The proud fox opened his eyes, and yes, there were no lines before him. Happy to the edges he tried to slow down, but then his legs gave up. As if the rope appeared before him, his legs just cut off and the poor boy felt on the ground. He rolled around a few times before all sore he stopped in the grass.
Unfortunately, attempts to stop the machine failed because of his numbness from overworking legs. Now the little fox was laying on the ground, confused, painful, without any clue what to do next. Over him group of cubs started forming, murmuring one to another. Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.

"TOMMY ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?" Levi screamed,  truly worried and scared.

Tom took eyes on him and said,
"I-dont-think-so", he was still breathing heavily after the run, also crying even if didn't want to. The overwhelm got the better of him, excluding any safety in his body, leaving him in pain, tearing and broke.

The teacher pushed through the crowd to them and took a peek at the situation. The fox was bleeding from his knee, probably by the impact when he felt.

"You need to get to the nurse. Can you walk?", panther asked as he leaned over him.

Tom tried to move his hurt leg. Pain shot him, but no movement. "I-I can't", fox replied weakly.

The panther looked at kneeling next to him levi and standing above him Oliver. "Alright guys, take him urgently to the nurse. She needs to take care of your friend", the teacher ordered for the fox tfriends...

Hewo!
What you have in front of your eyes is a story about a certain fox named Thomas that because of his reasons had to move from his home place to different city named Oakwood. He have to start his life from zero, knowing nobody except his family, forced to fit in new environment where he don't really want to be. Sounds scary isn't it? Especially for a young little fox like Thomas is...but, he is unaware how huge lick will meet him and how his life will turn upside down just because one boy...

That was little preview of what the story is. It's gonna be focus on wholesome moments, relationships, first times or quicker, just life of a still learning the world fox cub;)

The story already have 6 chapters, with 7th in production. I'll be posting them here hopefully every weekend, but well, writing takes time, even if it's just rewriting in fact. For now, enjoy the first chapter, a appetizer for you😘

If you have any questions, or you spotted something wrong in the story, feel free to write it down. I'll be more than happy to chat about what I created.

I wish you awesome day/or night! See ya later :3

Oh, my lovely fox, reading this story again brings back so many wonderful memories. These two have stolen my heart all over again, though you’d have to battle Tommy and Levi for it well, maybe not, since they’re both halves of you. Your writing has improved so much, and I’m loving everything you’re doing with these characters. The adventures they embark on and the romantic tension between them are just perfect.
