Very interesting idea!
There's a lot of brain stuff in many animated series, regardless of age and how dark or light it is. This reminds me of the approach to the theme in Jimmy Neutron (it leans quite a bit into that theme with the thing that the protagonist is a super genius boy because of his enormous brain; it must have been one of your favorite shows, I suppose, quite several episodes touching the brain thing), although the episode I have in mind comes to my mind not in terms of creating a computer file (in that episode it seems to be represented as some kind of... "juice"... although the conflict of the episode is that an accidental body swap occurs through a phone call due to a lightning... so... it should have been something only electric, why then that "brain juice" then? But anyway...); the part where they extract their minds after that body swap is what made me remember it when I saw this illustration.

Have you seen the Invincible animated series? It even has lobotomy content, featuring a scientist character who does those things and brain manipulation. But there's also another character who does a body swap, and he's a super genius "with an incredibly neurons-dense brain", so they also make references to the brain in those other episodes. Have you seen it? What do you think?
