Disclaimer: The reason the Kelpies are part of this family tree is because in my personal headcanon, I want to believe that Chili’s mum and Rusty’s mum’s mum are actually sisters. Rusty’s grandma is Chili’s aunt, Auntie Mary, who Chili briefly mentioned back in the “BBQ” episode. Chili’s mum and Rusty’s grandma are mixed cuz one of their parents is a red heeler while the other is a red kelpie. Chili’s mum ended up marrying Mort Cattle, a pure red heeler, while Auntie Mary ended up marrying Mr. Sheep, a pure red kelpie. Thus the Heeler and Kelpie families were born, making Chili and Brandy first cousins with Rusty’s mum. This then means Bluey and Bingo are second cousins with Rusty, Dusty, and Digger.
More clues to suggest this theory is that Rusty’s family is from the bush (the countryside), which Chili’s family was also from and it was stated on the official Bluey website in the past that Bluey and Rusty were at one point cousins, which has now been erased, but I still want to believe they’re at least second cousins.
