Sizing Up Sentret
By Sokz
Sentret's eyes glittered as she spotted the bush through the densely packed forest foliage. It rested at the base of a large tree, almost completely hidden by the shadows cast from the canopy above, except for a single beam of light that pierced the leaves and highlighted the morning dew on the oran berries.
She licked her lips as she hopped forward. Oran berries were rare in the forest, and the few bushes were usually picked clean by the time she found them. She could already taste the sweet flavor of the juices spilling onto her lips as she plunged through another bush and reached the berries.
She bounced onto her tail and grabbed one of the roundest berries on the bush. With a twist and pull, its stem broke off, and it came loose. Finally, she'd have a nice treat to make her day perfect. Sentret closed her eyes, opened her mouth wide, and went to take that first heavenly bite...
...Only to find nothing there. Her hand was empty! She looked around the forest clearing and squinted into the shadows, then jumped when she saw a Teddiursa a few steps away. He had her berry!
The tiny bear Pokemon smirked as he tossed the berry into the air and grabbed it before it hit the ground. He gave a wink, then took a huge bite out of it, spilling juices all along his muzzle and belly.
Sentret gripped her fists. That was her berry! She was the one who wandered around the forest for hours looking for a tasty snack, she was the one who hopped onto her tail to pick it, but this twerp grabbed it before she could even get a bite. She hated Pokemon that tried to take advantage of others.
A rustling sound came from the bush. She turned to it, then gasped in shock as a second Teddiursa pulled the last berry from the bush and hopped down with a small bushel in his arms. They took everything and didn't leave a single one for Sentret!
She growled at the pair of tiny bear Pokemon as they paused at the edge of the clearing, smirked in her direction, waved, then disappeared into the undergrowth. Sentret was usually a kind and caring Pokemon, but she wasn't about to let these guys bully her out of a hard-earned snack!
She charged after them and dove into the bush. They were quick, despite their tiny legs, and managed to keep ahead of her as they darted around trees, over fallen logs, and under half-rotted stumps. Just as she was finally about to catch them, they jumped through another bush.
She followed only a step behind, but came to an abrupt stop when she bashed into a
large wall of fluff. With a slight moan, she rubbed her head and looked upward. Before her was a huge Pokemon, possibly the largest in the entire forest. It stared down at her with a snarl, its big bear arms crossed as the two little squirts snickered behind.
Sentret could hold her own against a lot of Pokemon, but an Ursaring was too much even for her. She backed off, knowing that she had lost the battle.
Behind her, the Teddiursa laughed with each other as they shared their snack.
Sentret rested in her tree a few hours later. The rest of her day was fun, but uneventful. She didn't find another berry bush, though there were some tasty enough roots and nuts along the path. They didn't compare to the rich taste of an oran berry, but at least she didn't go to bed hungry.
She sighed as she listened to the chirps of bug Pokemon in the forest and watched the stars twinkle above head. Maybe she'd find another berry bush in the morning. She'd just have to make sure she wasn't being followed by any annoying pests this time.
As she was snuggling in and getting ready to close her eyes, a flash erupted above her head. She blinked as the forest glowed green for a moment, lit by a star that sailed across the sky. Sentret gasped. She had never seen something like this before!
The star left a streak across the blackness as it moved closer and closer, then it slammed into the ground only a little bit away. Sentret practically jumped as a gust of wind blew through the trees and leaves around her.
She was too curious to stay in her tree. With a hop and a bounce, she dropped from the tree branch, landed on the ground, and sprinted in the direction of the falling star. It took a few minutes to find it since the forest was almost pitch black under the thick canopy of leaves, but soon she emerged into a clearing with a small crater in the center.
A faint green glow came from the rock at the bottom of the hole. It was interesting, and as soon as she looked at it, she knew it was special. With cautious steps, she inched closer until she was within an arm's length of the rock.
Her tail bristled when she noticed what it had landed on. A berry bush! The plant lay broken around the clearing with its branches snapped and its leaves scattered amongst the dirt, but a few berries were still intact. In fact, they looked even fuller than usual as they were bathed in the rock's faint glow.
Sentret picked one of the berries up, rotated it around in her paw, looked around, then bit into it. The berry exploded as soon as she took that first bite, the juices even sweeter than she imagined.
This might be the best berry she had ever tasted! She hummed to herself as she feasted for the rest of the night, loving each and every nibble of the strange glowing treats.
Sentret woke up the next day to the sound of Pokemon around her. They were mumbling to each other as they stood around her in a circle, though their voices were too quiet for her to understand anything. Strange, this part of the forest wasn't usually so active this early.
She blinked, rubbed her tired eyes, sat up, then gasped at the scene around her. Last night, she collapsed near the base of her tree after stuffing herself with those delicious glowing berries. Though she woke up under the same tree, in the same small clearing, it looked so different! The trees no longer towered over her, and the bushes were so small that they only came up to her toes. She swished her tail absentmindedly and jolted when she felt it bash into a tree and break its trunk!
Something strange was happening, and even the Pokemon around her looked tiny! No, that wasn't right. If everything looked tiny, then maybe she was BIG!
She bounced to her feet with a smile. Her paws thumped into the ground as she came down and sank into the compact dirt, leaving large craters where her body pressed down. When she rose to her full height, she was bigger than the trees and could look over their canopy. The Pokemon who had gathered around her backed up with nervous movements, especially when she wiggled her toes.
Now this was interesting. How was she so big? She had never heard of a Pokemon, especially a little Sentret like her, growing to such an amazing scale before. Her eyes flashed as she remembered last night and the strange glowing rock that fell from the sky. It must have had something to do with the falling star!
Whatever the reason, she beamed in delight as she stepped forward and felt the ground smoosh under her paws. This was fun. She was used to being tiny and scurrying around the underbrush, darting into holes, and always being in something else's shadow. Now she was BIG, and she was going to have some fun.
She jumped forward and thrust her belly into the wall of trees near the edge of her clearing. Their trunks snapped and bent as soon as they came in contact with her chest. Nothing stood in her way as she charged forward, snapping branches, crushing bushes, and breaking every tree apart.
The cracks and snaps were so satisfying. She smiled as she continued forward, her foot thundering with each impact, Pokemon darting left and right as they scrambled to get out of her way. The more she ran, the more she destroyed, the bigger she grew. Soon she was big enough to see over even the tallest trees in the entire woods!
This was amazing!
She kept hopping and skipping through the forest until she encountered a group of Pokemon that caught her eye. In the middle of a dirt path in front of her were three little creatures. One was a very annoyed Oddish that practically had steam puffing out of her head. The other two were a pair of familiar Teddiursa with those same mocking grins. One of them stood a few paces back with a freshly stolen berry in his hands, while the other had his foot placed on the Oddish's head, holding her in place.
The color faded from their faces as soon as they looked up at Sentret. They didn't seem nearly as confident as they did before. Slowly, they took a step back, then another, then they turned and ran.
Sentret thought about letting them go, but she just couldn't resist. Not after they were so mean to her yesterday. She kept pace with the little dorks by simply walking forward, her huge paws smooshing the bushes they darted through and crushing the logs they scrambled over. The pair of tiny bears ran around a tree and nearly bashed into their Ursaring protector, but this time, he didn't look so big and intimidating. Sentret paused when she was a step away from the formerly mightiest Pokemon in the forest. It looked up at her, first in shock, then in annoyance.
Instead of backing down, the Ursaring stepped forward and bellowed a mighty roar that caused bird Pokemon to take to the air around them. Sentret wasn't impressed by his little squeak. She didn't move an inch, her smile growing as she looked down at the tiny trio. Even at his tiny size, the Ursaring's angry scowl was visible as he trembled with rage. He didn't turn and run. His claws shimmered as he charged forward and slammed them into her toes in an attack that could have chopped a tree in two. For Sentret, the Slash attack was barely even an itch.
She giggled as the Ursaring continued fruitlessly. It was shocking to think that she had once been afraid of this Pokemon when it now looked like a tiny bug scratching at her toes. She readied herself and gathered her power, gripped her fist, then bashed it into the Ursaring with all her might. Her Slam attack was always pretty strong, but now it sent her opponent hurtling through the forest. Its body smashed through trees and cleared a line of foliage all the way to the other side of the forest, leaving the two little Teddiursa stunned.
Sentret felt another burst of size after her Slam attack, which made the two tiny bears so tiny that she could barely see them. They weren't even worth an attack. She just lifted her paw, swung it forward, cast them in her shadow, then brought it down.
SLAM. The ground squashed between her toes as the full weight of her hundred-foot-tall body crushed into it.
This was FUN! Sentret loved bouncing around the forest and the surrounding countryside, smashing through trees and bushes with abandon. Nothing could stop her or even slow her progress. When she spun, her tail cleared huge areas of the forest and sent trees hurtling thousands of feet away. Wherever she went, Pokemon scampered out of her path or were smooshed under her thumping paws. It was so much fun being big!
She traveled further than she had ever gone before and eventually reached the long stretches of fields just beyond her forest. They were interesting and filled with Pokemon she had never seen before. A group of Tauros tried to charge her, but she made the whole herd trip with a single stomp. They ran away after that.
She tilted her head when she came to a long stretch of dirt and metal that she had never seen before. It had a unique and unnatural shape, with two metal rails placed on top of flat wooden boards, and it ran all the way to her left and right. What was this thing?
As she crouched down to get a clearer look, a horn drew her attention. A train appeared from behind a hill and darted past her with all its lights flashing and its horns blaring. She had never seen something like it before, but it looked super fun to play with!
She lifted her paw and SMASHED it down on the final train car just as it was about to pass by. The force of her foot was enough to stop the train with a violent jolt. The cars buckled as the wheels came off the track, causing some portions of the train to roll onto their side and slam into the ground.
Sentret giggled as she stepped forward along the length of the train, smooshing the next car under her foot, then the next, then the one after. A few people scurried out from the derailed passenger sections as other Pokemon flew out the windows. She didn't pay much attention to them. It was just fun feeling the crunch of metal and glass as she walked down the line. The engine made the biggest crunch of all. It was so fun to step on these types of toys and grind them to dust under her paw. She turned back with a smile, bright and beaming, but was interrupted by a sudden gust of wind. It wasn't enough to hurt, but it had more of an impact than a random breeze.
She frowned as she looked around for the source. A Noctowl flew at about eye level with its wings bustling with energy. Below her, on a broken portion of the train, some random trainer was shouting commands at it. The Noctowl dove toward her again and used Peck against her cheek.
It didn't hurt, but it was definitely annoying. The bird Pokemon retreated, flew in a large arc, then dove toward her again. This time Sentret shifted a bit to the side and opened her mouth. The silly owl flew directly into her maw.
She slammed her mouth shut and smooshed the annoying pest around for a little bit, then swallowed. With a single gulp the battle was over.
Sentret hopped in victory, and then felt a burst of energy sizzle through her body. It moved from the tips of her toes to the top of her head, then filled her with a glittering light that was so bright it rivaled the sun. In a burst, she jumped out of the glow in a new and even more radiant form. She evolved into Furret!
Her long and slinky body landed on the ground with a huge impact, burying some of the nearby Pokemon in a burst of dirt and stone. Now she was even bigger than before, and the individual train cars were barely the size of her foot.
She smiled as she darted around the area, trampling everything under her feet. What could possibly stop her now?
Furret tilted her head back and forth as she stared into the glass facade of the building. Her reflection looked back at her with sparkling eyes and a playful smile. This thing was pretty cool! Though it would be even more fun to smash.
She giggled as she spun around and bashed her tail into the building's side. The glass shattered, the foundations chipped, and the steel skeleton broke apart. With a burst of metal and concrete, the tower collapsed under its own weight.
Furret wasn't sure how she'd feel about the city when she first saw it glittering past the rolling hills, but it was a lot of fun! A trail of destruction spread behind her, marked by smaller buildings that crumbled under her weight as she hopped and bounced through them. Deep footprints marred the landscape, many of them lined with the bricks and stones from the buildings she crushed under her paws.
Some people and Pokemon tried to stop her, but she barely even noticed anymore. What did she care if a few tiny Pokemon tried to slash at her toes, or throw a few Embers at her fur? She could just brush them off and go back to her playtime.
At this point, as she stood as tall as the immense skyscrapers, she didn't think anything could even affect her anymore!
And then the clouds darkened and a violent burst of electricity lit up the sky. It arced through the air and struck Furret right on the head! She felt the buzz tingle her fur, and it even made her itch a little bit. What the heck was that?
She glanced around as she scratched the itch caused by the Thunder attack, then spotted it. A Pokemon stood on top of a nearby building, just at eye level. No, it was a trio of Pokemon, and they all buzzed with energy and power!
The first was an electric Pokemon with a beautiful mane and long fangs. Electricity buzzed around its body as it gathered the strength for another attack. It took Furret a few seconds to recognize the legendary creature, but then it clicked into place. This was Raikou, one of the legendary dog Pokemon and guardians of the region!
She never thought she'd see him in person! Or that he'd be so tiny.
That meant that the two Pokemon behind him must be Entei and Suicune. They looked just as ravaging as their partner as their elemental powers surged around them. Embers glittered off Entei's mane as he stood proudly on top of the skyscraper, and ice particles surrounded Suicune as it held itself with unmatched poise and elegance. These weren't any three Pokemon, these were some of the most powerful Pokemon in the entire world!
Entei and Suicune jumped forward as Raikou readied another attack. A Fire Burst erupted from Entei, flew through the air, and struck Furret on the chest with a minor puff of singed fur. Suicune let out a mighty Blizzard that froze the water particles in the air and made Furret's ear twitch slightly.
Combined... they weren't that impressive.
Furret tilted her head as she looked at the legendary Pokemon. Weren't these guys supposed to be strong? Weren't they the defenders of the world, able to stop even the most evil Pokemon in the universe?
She'd be happy to show them what a real move looked like. As Entei, Suicune, and Raikou jumped from rooftop to rooftop, Furret breathed in, gathered her power, then let it loose in a rain of giant-sized seeds.
The glowing pods first launched into the air, then rained down like meteors falling from heaven. When they struck the ground, they exploded in fiery detonations that engulfed entire city blocks. Buildings were ripped apart, streets were blown to pieces, and destruction completely engulfed the city.
The aftermath was bleak. Not a single building remained standing as fires surged through the destruction. Furret looked around in shock as she stepped forward, her paw falling on the ground and smooshing the charred remains. The three legends were gone without a trace.
She knew her Seed Bomb was strong, but this was a surprise even to her!
That landscape trembled as she pitter-pattered her way over it, leaving immense footprints in her wake. She trampled forests without thinking about it much, and stormed through giant sand dunes as though she were playing at the beach. Water didn't stop her. The mountains didn't stop her. All the planes and tanks the military sent to blast her out of the air did nothing. She was simply too huge, and their attacks couldn't even break through the top level of her fur. But they were still fun to play with! She had a great time jumping onto an entire battalion of tanks, crushing a few of them under her paws, and watching the others scramble out of her way. One by one, she jumped into the air and landed on those trying to escape. It was like chasing bugs back in her forest, and even came with a satisfying crunch.
She licked up a few of them and broke them apart with her powerful teeth, then gulped them down. The tanks didn't taste like anything she recognized, but it wasn't a bad flavor. If anything, she wanted more.
So she kept snacking on them! When the tanks ran out, she hopped over to a tiny town and nommed on a few houses, gobbled up a few cars, and licked up whatever happened to run through the street. The explosion of flavors on her tongue was absolutely amazing.
A few Pokemon tried to stop her as well, but they were barely more than gnats flying around her face or ants scurrying around her paws. A Tyranitar charged her, but she kicked it into the stratosphere. A Garchomp dashed into her at nearly the speed of sound, but she smacked it out of the air and plopped her butt onto it.
There might have been a few legendary Pokemon mixed in there too, but she stopped noticing after a while. They were just so tiny that it was hard to make out their features without squinting and leaning really close. And by that time, they usually just started attacking her.
After a few hours of playing around in the countryside, she discovered another city resting between a collection of tall mountain peaks. She almost didn't notice it amongst the white capped spires, but the glint of its reflective windows caught her eye. With a smirk, she wiggled through the mountains until she came to the edge of the city, her form titanic as it loomed over everything and cast the metropolis in her shadow.
The tallest skyscraper was about half her height. The people walking through the streets were so tiny that she couldn't make them out as anything more detailed than a wave of dark shapes pulsing in time with the traffic lights. It didn't look like a city anymore. It was just a toy for her to shape in her paws, mold under her body, and play with.
She smiled as she hopped forward and crushed the entire northern half. Buildings crumbled under her weight and a massive cloud of smoke and ash billowed from the spot of impact. She could feel more things crumbling as the shockwave propagated, causing tunnels to collapse and bridges to fail. The nearby stadium, once home to the greatest Pokemon battles in the region, couldn't even remain standing. It crumbled like so many others, all because she happened to walk close by.
Furret smiled. She loved being this huge. Nothing could stop her anymore, and the mightiest constructions of the humans crumbled as soon as she moved too close. She felt like a titan, a living embodiment of power, and it was amazing.
She stood there for a moment, basking in the realization that she was the greatest thing to ever exist while most of the city panicked in her shadow, until a flurry of white hot explosions riddled her body. It wasn't enough to do anything more than leave a few spots of ash on her fur coat, but it pulled her out of her thoughts.
These explosions were different from the others. She could barely feel tank shells or mobile artillery anymore, yet this barrage was enough to take notice. Not enough to hurt or anything, obviously, but it made her curious.
She looked into the sky and squinted against the sun's glare. There, flying high above her head, were a collection of heavy bombers supported by a fleet of high-speed jets and fighters. Interesting. The humans must have pulled out their big guns to try to stop her!
As she was debating the best way to swat the annoying pests out of the air, another flurry of blasts lit up her fur, but this time it came from the ground. She glanced downward to find the streets packed with special vehicles outfitted with the latest and most powerful missiles ever built, supported by fleets of tanks and legions of humans in army uniforms. At least she assumed they were humans. It was hard to tell since they were so small.
But that wasn't all! Pokemon joined the fray as hundreds of them took to the air to defend their city. She could make out the flaming trail of a Charizard flying near her belly, the electric buildup of a group of Raichu on top of one of the buildings, the dark shadows of hundreds of Gengar, the rumble of countless Steelix... and was that Ho-oh and Lugia flying in from the coast?
Furret shook her head. She could stomp on some of them, lick up others, sit on a couple groups, but it would take hours to deal with all of them. So she'd need a move, something flashy and fun that would let her win this battle in a single stylized attack.
She smiled, since she knew exactly what to do. A little while ago, when she was still a tiny Sentret in the forest, she stumbled upon a trainer who had been knocked out by one of the tougher Pokemon in the forest. She rummaged through his bag, looking for some snacks or a
new toy to play with, only to find an amazing light blue disk. The moment she touched it, she learned a move that had been super fun to use. Now seemed like the perfect time to show the world.
Furret braced herself, jumped into the air, lifted her fist, then conjured the power of her attack. Arctic winds billowed around her hand as it came down, rocketing toward the center of the city like a frozen mountain. The impact was unlike anything the world had seen before. The moment her fist made contact with the ground, she unleashed the full power of her Ice Punch. A shockwave as cold and frigid as the Arctic winds burst through the city and ripped it apart. Tanks were thrown thousands of feet into the air while artillery froze and detonated. Winds surged around her, rivaling those of a hurricane. They went far enough into the air that they froze the planes flying overhead and dropped them out of the sky.
Water vapor crystallized in an instant, rivers turned to ice, and the entire region became engulfed in a layer of sparkling, beautiful snow.
Furret smiled as she looked at the result of the attack. Even the mountains were frozen! She always loved this move, and now it was one of the most powerful attacks any Pokemon could ever unleash.
Another glow enveloped her body. Furret looked down at herself in surprise, since she didn't expect to evolve again. Usually, a Furret was the final evolution for her line, but this was definitely the same glow as before! It enveloped her, changed her, then released her in a burst of light.
She slammed into the ground in her new, ultimate form. She was no longer a normal Furret. Now she had the form of an anthropomorphic Pokemon! She stood on two legs with her powerful feet planted into the ground, soft brown fur covering her body, and a pair of breasts that made mountains look like tiny hills.
This was amazing! She'd have to show the world how spectacular she looked.
She thought she was powerful before, but her new form made even the strongest cities seem trivial. The humans didn't even try to send their military anymore, since they knew they couldn't damage her. Even their nuclear bombs just detonated harmlessly against her fur.
The Pokemon were even less of a threat. There must have been a few legendaries that attacked her when she crossed through their territory, but she didn't notice or care. It was just fun to step forward and watch the ground tremble under her paws. Now the footprints she left behind were coated in magma, where the energy of her stomp melted the stones underfoot. She came to another city, but this one didn't last long. She positioned herself above it, then brought her breasts down in an unimaginably powerful Slam attack. Nothing was left standing after, though a few broken skyscrapers stayed stuck to her breasts. She let them stay there. Maybe a few tiny Pokemon would enjoy being nestled in the forest of her fur.
It was a lot of fun skipping across continents, stomping through oceans, and turning lakes to steam with just a single stomp. She didn't even need to use her actual moves anymore! If she tried to Ice Punch now, she might freeze the entire world.
Eventually she grew so huge that she could see the curvature of the globe. Then she grew large enough to leap off the planet, soar through the clouds, and reach the edges of space! From there, the globe looked tiny and fragile, like a little pebble floating through an endless black sea speckled with stars.
Part of her wanted to destroy it, like she had destroyed so much else during the day, but another part of her felt a connection to the tiny floating speck. This was her home, after all. She had lived her entire life on one small dot of this tiny speck, and maybe that was worth preserving.
She carefully lifted the Earth between her fingers, moved it toward her breasts, then smooshed it between them. With it gently cradled between them, it would be safe as she grew larger and larger.
She smiled as she turned toward Jupiter and all the other planets orbiting the sun. Maybe she'd place them between her breasts, too! And maybe the entire galaxy after that! Why not? Soon, she would be the largest thing to ever exist, and big enough to cradle the entire universe against her body.
Then everyone would see the truth. She was their god, and they were all just tiny, fun little toys.
