Flames engulfed the entire area surrounding the castle, with the resulting clouds completely obscuring the sky. In the town, people watched in terror and confusion, unable to grasp what was happening or why, as it seemed to them that this had all just begun without warning.
Link, Ganalia, and Irana crossed the town, passing through the people until they reached the path to the castle’s domains, stopping right there.
“This isn’t good,” Navi said.
“Don't tell me they've decided to take the kingdom by force,” Ganalia said, seeing the flames on the horizon.
Link clenched his fists at this sight, but even so, he did not waver, turning back to Ganalia.
“Ganalia, you and Irana convince the people to leave the city. It doesn't matter what you have to do. You must get them all out of here.” Link said.
“What are you saying?” Ganalia asked him, confused, just as Irana turned to him.
“Who knows if what's happening in the castle will happen here too?” Link asked her.
“Yeah… but wait! Don’t tell me you’re going there alone?” Ganalia asked.
“If we want to stop Ganondorf and Hoffmann, I must find Zelda so that together we can obtain the Triforce and use it against them!” Link said.
“Yeah, I know! But have you seen the chaos there? It’s literally a battlefield!” Ganalia reasoned. “There is no chance that she might be alive! They want the Triforce? Then let’s take the three Spiritual Stones and abandon this kingdom!”
“And then they will follow us to wherever we go! You know they already know we have them. Surely all this is because we’re pushing them out of options!” Link said, putting his hands on her shoulders. “Trust me, we must do it. It’s the only way.”
“I know! But even you must admit that your plan is complete madness!” Ganalia said, putting her hands on his arms.
“True. But the Great Deku Tree once said that the line between madness and courage is very thin, and one has to decide if the risk is worth it.” Link said.
He then turned his face to the people in the town who were still looking at the flames near them. “And still, I can’t leave them here, in the grasp of danger.” Link then turned to Ganalia. “I need you to take them to safety. And as you know, I’m just a boy with two hands. Will you help me?”
Ganalia looked at the Kokiri for a while until she gave a loud sigh, nodding to him. Smiling, Link turned to Irana, who first had a worried face looking back at him, but then she put on a determined glare and gave a nod to the Kokiri.
“Okay, time to go.” Link said as he began to move.
“Link, wait!” Ganalia called him.
Link turned around, seeing how she extended her arm to him with her hand open. Seeing this, he extended his hand to her, but she then grabbed his forearm with her hand, making him do the same with hers, squeezing tightly.
“Good luck!” Ganalia said with a smile.
“You too.” Link said.
After this, Link began to run toward the castle, while Ganalia and Irana stood behind in the city.
Link soon reached the fields surrounding Hyrule Castle, where he could see the flames consuming parts of the castle. Also, many parts of the zone were destroyed, too, like the walkway gate that was once protected by guards, but is now wide open with stones around.
Also, Link could see the bodies of soldiers lying on the ground and against the natural walls, with the corpses of some Crusader soldiers and Chimera Orcs lying around.
“I know this is very dangerous, Link. But still, we must find Zelda, no matter how.” Navi said to Link.
Without saying a word, Link ran as he could until he reached the castle’s gates, which had the bridge down and the gates burst, and soon entered the castle.
The whole inside was a complete chaos, with flames everywhere, and with holes in every wall he could see, with the corridors filled with corpses of both sides. And still he could hear the sound of weapons clashing inside the castle, indicating that there were still fights inside the castle. He needed to be wary of what he could find inside it.
Just as he feared, turning on a corner, he was spotted by an Orc that roared at him, sword ready. Link didn't hesitate for a moment and firmly gripped his sword, facing the monster in front of him just as it lunged at him. Link quickly used the Hylian Shield to block the slash, using the chance to stab his sword into the monster’s chest, finishing it quickly before continuing. At least he knew he could use the Orcs’ lack of intelligence to finish them quickly if spotted, but he was worried if there were more intelligent monsters on the way.
As he rushed through the corridors, Link could see that there were still soldiers fighting the attackers, either Crusaders or more of the man-made monsters now roaming the castle in flames. Sadly, he couldn’t do anything for them, as the flames kept him from getting any closer, so he had to follow the only path he could: go inside the flames.
But there were also surprises along his path, such as occasionally seeing creatures like the insect monster he encountered inside the Deku Tree, crashing through the corridor walls like a walking battering ram. Or even the enormous lizards from Dodongo's Cavern wreaking havoc throughout the area. Fortunately, all these creatures were distracted, destroying the castle and fighting the guards, so Link could easily evade them without encountering them.
Unfortunately, when passing through a gate, he spotted a Crusader soldier as he turned around, spotting Link there.
“Halt!” The Crusader called, aiming his strange weapon at Link.
Yelping, Link hid behind the wall just as the soldier used his weapon, which began to shoot small projectiles at a fast speed, hitting the wall, forcing Link to duck and cover his head as he heard the weapon’s loud noises as she shot at where he was hiding.
Ganalia and Irana stared at the castle in flames, close to the castle as Link just departed in that direction. Ganalia looked at the young Lynel for a moment as she returned the glare until the young thief nodded. They couldn’t stay there forever waiting for him. He asked them to do something, and they were to do it.
Ganalia turned around and ran to the people who were looking at what was happening there.
“You all have to get out of Hyrule Castle Town!” Ganalia said to the people who were there. “Now! Please!”
“Slow down!” The Bombchu Bowling Alley dependent asked her. “Do you know what’s going on?”
“What’s happening in the castle? Was there an accident or something?” One of the citizens asked.
Ganalia shook her head. “Ganondorf has risen in arms against the kingdom, and the Crusaders are aiding him.”
The people began to gasp and exclaim in dismay, unable to believe what she was saying.
“But how can we be sure that they’re really making a coup d'état?” One of the citizens asked.
Ganalia was to answer him when they heard a strange noise of something falling fast, and without warning, something impacted on the Happy Mask Shop, causing an explosion that destroyed the top part of the building and covered it in flames, shocking everyone who had lowered their heads by the explosion.
“Argh! My masks! My masks!” The affected shop owner exclaimed, and he saw his shop damaged with his hands on his head and his eyes wide open.
“What was that?!” Asked the Bazaar dependent after the explosion.
“I don't know, but I think it came from the castle. Maybe it was a stray projectile or something.” Ganalia said as she looked at the damaged building, before turning to the people. “Now you see you’re in danger here?”
The expressions of the people began to become even more serious as they now saw the danger that was about to fall over them.
“This must be a nightmare.” One of the citizens said with his hands on his head.
“Mommy, I’m scared!” Exclaimed a child to her mother.
“Okay, everyone! Calm down!” The Bazaar dependent called. “It's clear the city will be the next to fall as soon as they arrive. So what we can do is grab everything we need and leave the city as soon as possible!”
“Yeah, you’re right.” The Bombchu Bowling Alley dependent said. “We don't have much time, so hurry!”
People began to move to evacuate the city as quickly as possible, taking only what was essential, while some citizens began to pull the Happy Mask Shop’s owner away as he was still in shock at the loss of his shop.
Ganalia then looked at the young Lynel as she returned the look, the beast nodding to her.
“Okay, let’s get outta here,” Ganalia said to her.
But then, before they could leave, another lost projectile was heard, hitting the fountain and causing an explosion that destroyed it, making everyone panic and run away from the place. She looked at the damaged place.
“I’m not risking coming close there,” Ganalia said, soon turning the nearby alley. “We must go through the back alley. Don’t get too far, Irana.”
Both Ganalia and Irana began to walk through the alley, while more people kept running past them, even pushing them away as they ran. But then they saw how a small child fell to the ground as the people ran away.
“Oh, dear!” Ganalia said as she stopped close to the child and helped her to stand up. “I know it must hurt… but you’ve got to be brave now, okay?” She asked the child who was about to cry as she nodded to her. “Good. Hey, have you ever mounted a horse or a pony before?” She asked again, the child shaking her head as an answer. “Then this is a first for you.”
Soon Ganalia began to help the child mount on Irana’s back, as the Lynel didn't object to the idea of allowing others to mount her this time. After it, Ganalia began to guide both of them through the back alley at a slow but steady pace for the child’s safety, despite the people running and passing at their side trying to get to safety.
“Hold on. We’re getting there.” Ganalia said as she guided Irana and the child riding her through the back alley. But things seemed to get worse each time they heard some explosion somewhere in the city.
Eventually, they were back on the market street at the other side of the fountain area, soon turning to the street with the guard house, where they saw the only Hyrule guards in the city helping the people to evacuate the city through the gates.
“Come on! Over here!” Called one of the two guards in front of the gates.
“Get to Kakariko now! It’s too dangerous here!” Called the other guard, waving his hand to the people passing at their side.
The two guards got startled as they saw Irana and Ganalia passing by their side, but they didn’t stop them from passing the gates. Out there, they found the people who were outside, or stayed looking at what was happening in the city, or were already moving away from there.
“Okay, we’re out,” Ganalia said, turning to the child on Irana’s back.
Ganalia then began to look around, seeking somebody who could take care of the child from now on.
“Annette!” Called a man walking to them. “I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” He quickly grabbed the child from Irana’s back and hugged her as hard as he could.
“Daddy!” The child called as she hugged him.
Ganalia and Irana looked at the two of them, soon smiling as they looked at each other, before turning their glare to the castle in flames behind the city walls.
Back in the castle, Link kept hiding behind the wall to avoid the shots from the Crusader firing at him with his strange weapon.
“Link! This wall won’t hold any longer!” Navi warned him.
The Crusader soldier kept his fire on the wall, smiling maniacally as the wall was getting destroyed by his focused shots at it.
“Kid! Move out!”
The Crusader turned around to see who spoke, being suddenly hit by a soldier, making him drop his weapon and fall to the ground. Link then leaned to the side to see the soldier.
“Don’t stay here! It’s dangerous! Get to safety!” Ordered the soldier to Link, before beginning to struggle with the Crusader to keep it from getting his weapon back.
Link heard him, but he couldn’t obey the soldier, so he began to move deeper into the castle, looking for Zelda before it’s too late. After struggling through the castle in flames, he reached the outside sections of the castle, where he finally spotted Zelda with Impa on one of the towers. The problem was that Ganondorf and Hoffmann were there too. Sensing the danger, Link began to run to where they were as fast as he could.
“Damn you, Ganondorf! And you too, Hoffmann!” Cursed Impa while keeping Zelda close to her. “What have you done to the king!
“The king is now resting peacefully… forever!” Said Ganondorf with an evil grin.
“You monsters!” Impa said to them, holding a small knife in one hand.
“All of this could have been avoided if the king had cooperated as we suggested. But unfortunately, he turned out to be a very stubborn man.” Hoffmann said with a shrug at the end.
“As I would believe you,” Impa said, facing the two of them.
“Say whatever you want. I will obtain the power of the Triforce and become the King of Hyrule.” Ganondorf said, smiling. “No, I believe I’ll become the ruler of the world!” He began to laugh in front of the two girls.
“No, you never will.” Zelda began to say. “In order to save Hyrule, the Hero of Time will surely appear! To defeat both of you!”
Ganondorf and Hoffmann looked awkwardly at Zelda after she said that, with the general giving a groan with a hand on his head.
“What a laugh… Little girl!” Said Ganondorf, throwing a punch toward them and breaking the ground in the impact, but Impa jumped away with Zelda in her hands, avoiding the attack and landing behind him.
Then Hoffmann aimed his gun toward Impa after that. “Do you really believe in that superstition, princess? From where I came, in the real world, heroes like that don't exist.” Said Hoffmann, keeping his aim on Impa.
“Well, you should have learned that heroes do exist here!” Zelda exclaimed, getting the general’s attention.
Impa took that chance to kick Hoffmann’s weapon away, who had to move away to avoid her bladed weapon.
“You fools! Get them! Bring us the Ocarina of Time!” Ordered Hoffmann to some Orc Chimeras and some skeleton warriors known as Stalfos, which were with him.
But Imp was skillful enough to fend off the monsters and the undead creatures that attacked her with just a hand, while keeping Zelda safe, holding her firmly in her arms.
Meanwhile, Link was trying to get to where Zelda and Impa were to help them, until his path was blocked by a blue-skinned Orc with more resistant armor and a different helm, holding an axe with a long steel stick with a spear head on the lower end.
“Get outta my way!” Said Link to the Orc on his way, soon turning his face to the tower. “I’m coming!! Zelda!!”
Zelda heard his voice and turned to where he was. “LINK!!”
Hoffmann turned to find Link on the walls, trying to get there. “That Kokiri again? Is it really that hard to get rid of a brat, or what the hell is going on?”
“You’re not going anywhere, kid!” The Orc suddenly said, holding his weapon tightly.
Link was surprised to hear that monster talk, but he grabbed his sword and attacked him. But the Orc used his weapon to block his blade, pushing him away.
“Pathetic.” The Orc said, raising his weapon to attack.
Link bent down to use the Hylian shield to block the attack, but when the Chimera hit the shield with the axe head, he felt the full weight of the hit on his back, almost making him fall to the ground. This enemy was much stronger than the other Orcs before. Even with the shield, he wasn’t strong enough to resist the strong hacks from the Chimera’s weapon. When the monster got ready to attack again, Link jumped to the side to avoid the hack, seeing it break the stairs with a strike.
“Pff, pathetic. The kid isn’t a real challenge for an Orc Chief.” Hoffmann commented, turning his view to Zelda and Impa, who was holding the enemies attacking them.
The Orc Chief attempted to stab Link with the spear point of the weapon, but Link rolled away, avoiding the attack as it stabbed the wall, making a deep hole there.
“Link! That monster is stronger than the others we fought before! You must be smarter than him if we want to bring it down!” Navi warned Link.
“I know!” Link said, facing the Orc Chief in front of him.
The Chimera kept attacking Link with its weapon and its immense strength, forcing the Kokiri to stay away from the monster, as any attack that Link threw against it was easily blocked and pushed away by the blue-skinned brute, keeping him away from Zelda. Suddenly, he felt something hard against his back, seeing that he was now against the castle’s battlements, with a long fall from there.
“Oh, no! There’s nowhere we can go!” Navi exclaimed, flying over the abyss behind Link.
Link then looked at the Orc Chief advancing to him, grinning maniacally as he was preparing his weapon for the next strike.
“Out of the line, you pipsqueak. You’re dead meat.” The Orc Chief raised its weapon over its head, ready to strike down.
Link took the chance to roll between the Chimera’s legs as the monster made its attack, missing the strike and breaking the battlements in front of it.
“Now!” Link exclaimed as he stood up and rushed to the monster.
Link suddenly pushed the Chimera forward. The Orc Chief moved forward by Link’s push, suddenly falling down the walls with a startled yell.
Link panted loudly after having defeated that monster, but he couldn’t rest as he needed to reach Zelda. He resumed his way, soon seeing how Impa was dealing with the monsters and enemies on her way, including the Crusader soldiers who didn’t have the chance to use their weapons against her, while keeping Zelda safe through the ordeal. Link didn’t think too much and began to follow them from behind as fast as he could.
Eventually, Impa and Zelda climbed on a white horse and began to ride it away as fast as the animal could, with Link following them. Zelda then saw how Link was following them as fast as his legs allowed him.
“LINK!!” Zelda screamed at him, extending his hand. “Impa, stop the horse! Please!” She pleaded to Impa.
“I cannot! We’ll be killed if I do!” Impa said to her, still speeding up the horse’s pace.
Link followed them through the city until reaching the bridge, where Zelda threw something to the ground before getting too far to be reached by the Kokiri.
Link panted loudly when he stopped running, being able to follow them any longer, but then he saw what Zelda threw to the ground. It was the Ocarina of Time. He took the Ocarina from the ground and looked forward, but he felt something and turned around.
It was Ganondorf, who was riding over an armored black horse, much taller and more intimidating than any other horse he had seen before.
“Kid.” Began to say Ganondorf. “Give me that thing you picked up just now.”
Link stared at the dark man. He somehow knew that he was no rival for this terrible man. But still, he knew he needed to do anything to stop him from accomplishing his evil deeds. He quickly took the Kokiri Sword and suddenly jumped at him.
But Ganondorf simply blocked his attack, quickly swatting him away with a hand. But Link didn’t hesitate and attacked him again, getting the same result. And all without climbing down from the horse.
“You’ve got some serious guts to oppose me.” Said Ganondorf to Link. “You’re the kid that Hoffmann told me about. Are you a Kokiri?” He then narrowed his eyes. “... No, something’s different… Who are you?”
“I am a Kokiri!” Answered Link, soon jumping at him again. “I am a child raised by the Great Deku Tree, Link!!”
But then Ganondorf extended his hand, and from it he threw a magic sphere that hit Link, pushing him away to the ground, with Saria’s Ocarina rolling out of his pockets.
Smiling, Ganondorf jumped off his horse and began to kneel to take the small ocarina with his hands.
‘That’s Saria’s… Ocarina…!’ Link thought to himself. It seems that Ganondorf just confused the Ocarina with the Ocarina of Time.
But just when he took the object with his hand, he saw a halberd aimed at his head.
“If I were you, I'd walk away from that ocarina very slowly, big guy.” Said Ganalia, as she was holding her weapon at him.
“Hmm, a Gerudo? You dare to betray your king?” Ganondorf said as he stood up with the Ocarina in his hand, raising an eyebrow. “No, you look more like a Hylian hybrid, which is funny. All descendants of our race are purely Gerudo. How’s that possible?”
“I don’t know, and I don’t care! You’re not getting that Ocarina. I’ll take it and take the Triforce like the thief I am!” Said Ganalia, lunging the halberd at Ganondorf, who stepped away from her.
“A thief? You? Don’t make me laugh.” Ganondorf said. “And you say you’re going to take the Triforce from me? You and whose army?”
Just at that moment, Irana appeared at Ganalia’s side, holding her swords with her hands and aiming them at Ganondorf.
“A female Lynel helping Hylians? That is something truly rare to see.” Ganondorf said with a smile. “This group is interesting indeed.”
Link then took the chance to stand up and move alongside Ganalia and Irana.
“It's great to have you here!” Link exclaimed.
“No problem.” Ganalia said, leaning to Link, “Hey, is it just me, or is he holding Saria's Ocarina in his hand?” She asked in a low voice.
“I think he mistook it with the Ocarina of Time.” Link said to her in a low voice, too.
“I see,” Ganalia said, soon turning to Ganondorf. “Okay. Will you hand over the Ocarina willingly, or will it have to be by force?”
Ganondorf smiled, putting Saria’s Ocarina on his belt. “You know what? Even though the princess has escaped, you've caught me in a good mood today. I’m going to humour you for a while.” Ganondorf taunted them with a hand. “Show me what a handful of kids like you can do!”
Link was the first to jump at him to attack him with the sword, but Ganondorf simply blocked the weapon with his forearm, pushing him away. The next to attack was Ganalia, who attempted to stab him with her weapon, but he simply moved away, avoiding the lunges. Eventually, she attempted a spinning attack to hack him with the axe-head, but stopped the weapon with a hand holding the stick, struggling with her simply for fun before pushing her away easily.
Irana suddenly attacked him with her swords, although Ganondorf moved to the side to avoid her swipes and extended his hand to use his magic against her, sending her flying away and landing hard on her side. Link then rushed at him and began to attack him with his sword, but he simply bent down and blocked them with his arm, before kicking him away.
Ganalia attacked Ganondorf again with her halberd, this time making long swipes trying to hit him with the axe head of her weapon, but the man simply dodged her attacks until he grabbed her weapon, stopping her attack and making her unable to use it. Then he glared at the female Lynel who stood up and rushed against him, so simply he spun around, still holding the weapon with Ganalia attached to it, and simply dropped it, making the young girl crash against Irana, both of them falling to the ground.
Ganondorf extended his hand to Link to stop the many Deku Seeds Link was shooting at him with the Fairy Slingshot. Still keeping his smirk, he closed his hand, grabbed some of the Deku Seeds he was stopping, and threw them back at Link, which surprisingly had a lot of strength by merely being thrown, hitting Link hard with them and making him fall to the ground. Ganalia attempted to attack Ganondorf with her weapon, but he dodged it easily, until, without warning, she threw a Deku Nut at him, blinding him with the nut’s flash when it shattered.
Irana attempted to use that chance to attack the Gerudo warlock, but he dodged it and hit her on the back of her torso, making her almost lose her composure and nearly fall while stumbling. But still Link attacked him again, this time using the Boomerang. The man simply moved his head to avoid the flying weapon, but Link simply kept looking at him and forcing him to focus on the Kokiri, hoping for the weapon to hit him from behind when returning. Unfortunately, Ganondorf grabbed the weapon with a hand without turning around and dropped it at Link’s feet with a laugh.
At that moment, Ganalia and Irana attacked him from both sides, trying to get him in the middle, but Ganondorf quickly jumped away, the two almost crashing into each other. The two then turned to him, at the same time as Link ran at their side, ready to keep fighting him.
Unfortunately for them, Ganondorf decided that was enough playing and aimed his hand at them, unleashing his magic and hitting the three of them at the same time, throwing them to the ground. Link struggled to stand up after that, while Ganalia and Irana stood up, facing the man.
“Ha! That’s all that you have?” Ganondorf asked while keeping his smile. “I have barely made an effort with you. Burning the castle and killing the King were much harder than this. Still, I like your attitude!”
Ganalia growled under her breath and tried to attack him, but without warning, a loud sound was heard, and something small hit the ground in front of Ganalia extremely hard, enough to stop her on the spot.
The two females turned to see who did it while Link struggled to turn his head to look too, spotting Hoffmann holding a strange weapon with his hand while aiming at them, mounted in a weird wheeled seat tied to a bi-wheeled vehicle held by a Crusader.
“I would think better of your actions in your situation, girl,” Hoffmann warned her while keeping his aim at them. “It will be better for your health. For yours and the others.”
Ganalia stepped back after that warning, while Irana growled at them, but she put a hand in front of her to calm down, Link eventually getting on his knees.
Hoffmann then looked at Ganondorf. “Herr Ganondorf, I think we must get the chance to get the Spiritual Stones they have.”
“Forget about them,” Ganondorf said, making the general look at him, confused. “These three have distracted me long enough. But at least I have the Ocarina of Time.”
“Really?” Hoffmann asked, amazed.
“Of course. But still, we need the song that opens the doors to the Sacred Realm. And for that, we need the princess. She’s the only one who knows the song.” Ganondorf said as he climbed on his horse. “Send your men after her! I hope your ‘motorbikes’ can run more than their mount.”
“Don’t worry, Herr Ganondorf. We will get her in no time.” Said Hoffmann and made gestures behind him, which made more motorbikes pass at their side in the direction that Zelda and Impa flew.
At that moment, Ganondorf began to run with his horse, while Hoffmann’s vehicle began to move following them.
“Auf Wiedersehen!” Hoffmann exclaimed to the group while waving his hand as the vehicle took him away from the city.
The three watched as each of them disappeared on the horizon, chasing Zelda, panting hard as Ganalia fell on her rear on the ground.
“Damn, they got away,” Ganalia said as he sighed. “At least they got the wrong Ocarina.”
Link breathed hard silently until he looked to the sky with despair on his face.
“I can’t, Great Deku Tree!” Link began to exclaim to the sky, Ganalia and Irana turning their heads to him. “With this small body… I’m no match for him! What should I do?!”
Then Link began to cry as he looked down, the two females looking at each other with sad faces. There were three of them, and yet Ganondorf swept them aside as if it were a mere game to him.
“Seriously, when did we ever think we could beat that man?” Ganalia said with a loud sigh.
“Even though… we worked so hard… to get the three Spiritual Stones…” Navi said as she flew near Link.
“Yeah, we defeated a Gohma, a King Dodongo, and even a Barinade… without counting these freaks the Crusaders created. But still… Admit it, Ganondorf is out of our league…” Ganalia said as she looked at the sky, while Irana shouted an angry roar to the sky.
“Still, both he and Hoffmann… are the reason why the Great Deku Tree is dead!” Link punched the ground, angrily. “Zelda…”
At that moment, Link remembered the conversation he and Zelda had had earlier when they infiltrated the castle. And that gave him an idea. He took the Ocarina of Time with his hand and stared at it.
“Zelda left the Ocarina of Time behind for us.” Link said, making everyone look at him. “Let’s try going to the Temple of Time.” Link stood up and began to run back to the city.
“Hey, wait for us!” Ganalia exclaimed, but as she stood up, she struggled not to fall down.
“You and Irana stay here.” Link said as he turned to look at them. “Rest, and in the case I never return, do anything that is in your power to keep the people safe. We don't know what those two will do if they take power.”
“Link, wait!” Ganalia called to Link as he ran into the city.
Link kept running through the empty town, grateful that no one in the city was hurt after the conflict at the castle. Eventually, he and Navi reached a large structure in an isolated area of the town, undamaged by the chaos.
“This is the place. The Temple of Time.” Navi said to Link as they went in.
Inside the temple, they found themselves in a large hall with an altar at the bottom of it, with a large stone door behind it.
“These must be the Door of Time,” Navi said. “But how do we open it?”
Link approached the altar and read what was written there.
“He who collects the three spiritual stones, stand here and play the Song of Time. If done, then the gate should open.” Link read the text in the altar.
“The Song of Time?” Navi asked. “What kind of song could that be?”
“I don’t know, but maybe…” Link began to think.
He then remembered that, in the time Zelda was playing with them in the city, she played a song with her ocarina at times.
“It must be the melody that Zelda was playing at that time.” Link suggested, holding the Ocarina of Time with his hands.
He then began to play the song Zelda played using the Ocarina of Time in front of the altar. Only after the music stopped sounding from the instrument, the three Spiritual Stones floated from Link’s pockets and began to float over the altar, placing themselves on it. At the next moment, the Door of Time began to open slowly until they were fully open.
After it, Link crossed the path open in front of him, getting into a large chamber.
“Link, isn’t that…?!” Navy exclaimed, flying toward the centre of the room.
At the center of said room, there was a small altar with the symbol of the Triforce, and impaled on this was a bluish-edged sword with an indigo grip and guard, with the Triforce symbol engraved on the steel.
“It’s that legendary blade… The Master Sword!” Navi said as she flew around it.
“The Master Sword?” Link asked, approaching the sword on the altar.
“A sword that is said to have been forged by the goddesses themselves. It is also called the ‘Blade of Evil’s Bane’.” Navi explained.
“Blade of Evil’s Bane.” Link muttered. “If I have this sword… Can I defeat him?”
“I don’t know! It’s the first time I've seen this weapon with my own eyes.” Navi said. “But I heard that only the chosen one can use it.”
Link stared at the Master Sword silently for a moment, just before placing his hands around the blade’s grip.
“If it can defeat Ganondorf, I’m willing to take the risk!” Link said.
Using his strength, Link pulled the Master Sword from the altar, eventually being surrounded by a pillar of light.
The last thing he was able to see before everything turned white around him was Ganondorf in front of him, mocking him and leaving while laughing at him.
Time later
At Kakariko Village, Ganalia was helping the people from Hyrule Castle Town who had evacuated to the village, aiding the villagers to give the refugees what they needed.
Unfortunately, she heard some noises from the village’s entrance, and when she turned around, she saw how dozens of Gerudo thieves and Crusaders, with Joseff Hoffmann at the head, entered the village, forming a line in front of the villagers and the refugees, making sure that no one would be able to escape. Ganalia quickly hid behind a building, eyeing what was happening.
Hoffmann coughed for a moment, preparing himself to inform everyone about the new order in Hyrule, with Ganondorf and them at the head.
“Ladies and gentlemen... today marks the dawn of a new era.”
At Goron City in Death Mountain, the Goron attempted to stop any intruder from entering their city, but they were easily pushed away by the Chimera lizard monsters and some Lizalfos, allowing the rest of the Crusaders to enter the city.
“With the death of the king, the old alliances are dead and buried.”
Darunia gathered all the Gorons in the center of the city with those they could not fight behind them, while the Crusaders and Gerudo surrounded them and aimed their weapons from the upper floors of the city, as Volvagia watched everything as he was hidden behind a jar.
“From this moment forward, your only allegiance is to us. Without exception.”
At Zora’s Domain, the Zora gathered deep within the caverns for protection alongside King Zora and Ruto as Oren guarded her between her arms, while others used the secret route to Lake Hylia to escape the soldiers that were consolidating their position at the entrance to their territory on the Zora River.
“To obey us is to obey the new king.”
Unfortunately, they found that even Lake Hylia was occupied by Crusaders and Gerudo thieves, aiming their weapons at the water to capture the Zora on the run.
“There is nowhere to hide. There is nowhere to run. We are everywhere.”
At the Kokiri Forest, all the Kokiri looked puzzled, looking at the forest’s exit as they saw how some Crusaders entered their forest alongside some monsters.
“All races of this land will submit to the new order. All will bow to the new king.”
Mido attempted to force the Crusaders to move away, but he was pushed to the ground by a Crusader soldier, and was soon helped by Nyvara to stand up, while Saria looked at the scene with a sad face.
“Disloyalty and disobedience will be punished without mercy.”
At Lon Lon Ranch, Malon was hiding behind Talon as they saw how a small group of Crusaders and Chimera Orcs entered the ranch, with Alexia Speidel at the head of the group, eyeing the animals in the ranch.
“But those who serve us faithfully will be richly rewarded.”
Ingo looked at what was happening from a corner, scratching his head at the events in front of him. Eventually, he had a smile on his face as he had the idea to use the situation to his advantage.
“Treason will be met with the harshest penalty.”
In the middle of Hyrule Field, Irana stared at the abandoned city of Hyrule, where Link disappeared without a trace. Angrily, she hit a nearby tree with her blade, the weapon getting stuck in the wood, struggling to pull it away.
“I know this change is difficult to accept. But life will become far easier once you do.”
Sheathing her swords, Irana gave a last look at the city before turning around and beginning to run, leaving the place behind.
“The sooner you embrace the new reality, the sooner you can rebuild your lives under it.”
Hoffmann straightened his trench coat while giving his speech to the people in front of him.
“All praise King Ganondorf!” Then Hoffmann raised his right arm. “Hail Ganondorf!”
“Hail Ganondorf! Hail Ganondorf”
All the Crusaders began to chant the same words as they raised their right arms to the sky, their chant heard over every corner of the city.
Ganalia, meanwhile, began to walk away in the shadows, preparing herself to live in these new days in Hyrule, under the tyrannical rule of Ganondorf, enforced by Hoffmann and his Crusaders.
