Special Delivery
Awassi held the delivery details, giving them a look over. It was his second month working at Stork Deliveries, yes, but it was going to be his first time out of the office. His first `delivery.' ``Alright.'' He took a deep breath, as he hopped onto his scooter. He cracked his knuckles and grinned. ``Let's get this show on the road!'' So, his ride began, taking off down the road, towards the shore. Despite his nervousness, being put on a time limit like this, he saw this delivery as nothing but upsides; he could get out of the office and into the fresh air, he could watch the scenic beach go by, and the payout for this one was gonna be big! With this, he could buy that tokusatsu merch that he had been eyeing since last month.
He placed his hand over his belly. Currently flat... Okay, it was a little bit pudgy. That could just be something he ate though. ``Phew... Nothing yet.''
Even if they delivered all kinds of packages, from furniture to food, the company was called Stork Deliveries for a reason.
Sure, Awassi was a sheep. But in this moment, he was playing the role of a `stork.'
After a bit of riding, enjoying the scenery of his neighborhood, he stopped his bike at a local cafe that he frequented; he had plenty of time, he could chill out for a bit. As long as the break didn't cause his water to break on the road... And speaking of water breaks, he took out a bottle of water and cracked it open. It was time to take a quick hydration break, especially on a hot day like this! He drank it down with a sigh of relief; one of the most delicious beverages in the world wasn't alcohol or sweet... The most delicious beverage in the world was water on a hot day when you haven't hydrated for several hours.
``Oh hey, Awassi!'' Came a voice. A loud jovial voice.
``Hm?'' Awassi looked over and was met face to face with a tough looking binturong, dressed in a white gym shirt and MMA shorts; from the popcorn smell on him, he must've come back from a workout... Or the theater. It was hard to tell with bearcats. ``Oh hey, Eli.''
``They finally have you on the road?'' Eli chuckled, crossing his arms.
``Yup. Had to sign a bunch of paperwork and do a few tests, but here I am. I was hesitant but my boss talked me into it...''
``Doing a good service.'' Eli said. His eyes were then drawn to the box on the back of Awassi's scooter. ``What's in there?''
``Oh, baby clothes, baby formula, diapers... That sorta thing. They came as a bonus with the actual package.'' Awassi patted his belly... Then he gasped. ``Oh shoot!'' He looked down, realizing he was already starting to show. He didn't remember the rapid growth formula working this quick! Either it was kicking in extra fast or... Well, there are a few other theories.
``Damn! You're already that big? Shouldn't you be going now?'' Eli said, leaning in close. He wanted to touch the sheep's belly but he didn't want to be weird. ``How does that feel, by the way? Growing super fast super quick.''
``Like a warm pressure, kinda? It feels rather nice.'' Awassi said, putting both hands on his middle. ``It's a bit painful in the last stages but... Nothing extreme.''
``Is it your first time? Being pregnant that is.'' Eli asked. ``Oh! Wait, you know what it feels like, so you've been through this before.'' He chuckled again. ``Silly me.''
``Nah, you're good.'' Awassi nodded. ``But yeah, I've been through it before. Came to work with a flat stomach. Tested out a special growth formula and was full term half way through my shift. Couldn't even reach my keyboard... And uh...'' He cleared his throat. ``I... Ended up going into labor in the break room. Let's just say I'm happy that more than half of the workers at Stork are licensed midwives and that I apologized to the janitor later.''
``Heheh~'' Eli laughed again. He certainly did that a lot.
``You find a dude going into labor funny, don't you?'' Awassi stared at the popcorn scented vivverid. Not like he was annoyed or anything. After all, Eli was such a himbo that he couldn't stay mad at him.
``Just how you phrased it, that's all.'' Eli said, as he wiped a tear from his eye. ``You're so quiet and introverted all the time. I can't imagine how you'd handle labor.''
``Well, I-'' Awassi started, but then gasped as he felt his bely begin to grow again. ``Ah! Uh, let's continue this another time. I don't want to deliver on the road, after all!'' He said as he put his helmet on and drove off.
``Don't forget to write!'' Eli shouted, waving goodbye to his friend.
So, Awassi continued down the road. Why was he so big this quick? Did he really lose track of time? No... He was bad about getting caught up in conversations, especially when taking a break, but he wasn't talking with Eli for that long. Was the rapid growth formula working quicker than expected...? No, his boss would've told him as much. There was only one explanation... Either he or the family was getting more than they bargained for. ``Oof...'' He grunted as he felt his belly begin to expand once more. At this point, his belly was about the size of someone's in their mid-term with a single baby. That wasn't his main worry right now, his number one worry was if his belly would get too big for the scooter; he heard a story one one of his coworkers getting too big that he couldn't reach the handlebars, resulting in a road side delivery. At least the babies born from that turned out fine and it makes for a thrilling break room story.
But, thrilling story or not, Awassi didn't plan on giving birth on the side of a road, no matter how much his coworkers would like hearing about it!
Before long, he made it to a small beach side town that was just a short walk from the shore. Stopping his bike, he looked at the uniform skyline of houses. ``Phew... Almost-'' He sinced as his belly quickly and suddenly had another growth spurt. ``Huff...'' He grew big enough that his shirt began to ride up; so much for extra stretch material that `won't ride up.' He quickly pulled his shirt down to cover himself up, hoping no one saw that. ``Hmph...'' He just sat there for a moment, seeing if it would hold. Then, after just a tiny little bit of expansion from his brood, his shirt rode up once more. ``Alright... Guess this work shirt is now a crop top.''
He drove down the road, towards his destination. His poor scooter was now feeling the extra weight of Awassi's burden. It wouldn't be much longer... But, just as his luck would have it, he was met with another obstacle; the customer was in a gated community. ``Oh for the love of...'' He grimaced, hand on his belly. ``I'm kind of on a time limit here! A time limit that's reaching its end.'' He hopped off the bike and hobbled, his hooves adjusting to the weight that he didn't have when he first got on the bike. ``Come on... There.'' He said as he steadied himself. He waddled over to the pager next to the entrance of the gate. ``So... How does this work... Ah here we go.'' He said, as he pressed the red button. There was a crackle of static, then he spoke. ``Uh... Hey...?''
There was silence... Enough that Awassi worried that there was no one on the other end. But, soon, through the old speaker, came an old woman's voice. ``Hello?''
That's a relief. ``Hey, uh... I'm here to make a delivery.'' Awassi said, now leaning forward; he had to lean in close just to speak with her. Such an awkward position... Ass out, belly handing low like an upside down dome that rocked back and forth with each tiny movement.
The woman wasn't saying anything.
``Hello?'' Awassi said, briefly questioning if he was using the intercom correctly.
``Hello?'' Came the voice on the other end again.
``Uh... Hello?!'' Awassi said, having to raise his voice. He leaned as close as he could, his snout just an inch or two away from kissing the intercom. ``Here. For. Delivery.''
``Ah! Hello!'' The woman said one more time. This was starting to sound like an echo chamber. ``Can I help you?''
Awassi wanted to scream, but he held back. ``Ah, yes, I'm here for a delivery!'' Once more with feeling. ``I'm a courier for Stork Deliveries!''
There was a pause...
Awassi just stood there, still leaning forward, his belly hanging like a hammock. ``Uh... Are you still there-''
``You're with who?'' The woman said.
``Stork Deliveries!'' Awassi repeated. ``I'm with Stork Deliveries. I'm carrying a large ord- Hwah!'' He jolted in surprise, standing up now, as one of the babies kicked. A really strong kick at that! Yeah... They were gonna be big.
``Ooooh... Stork... Oh! Hold on! I can see you on the camera, haha, I'm a ditz sometimes.'' He laughed with the clueless joy of someone who wasn't massively pregnant and ready to pop. ``You don't look like a stork. My, my, you're a big one.''
``Yeah...'' Awassi slowly nodded, hands on the underside of his belly. ``Can I... Come in... For the... Delivery?'' He said, putting emphasis between each phrase, making sure he could be heard. One hand still on the `package' he reached into his small duffle bag and took out his clipboard. ``Here's proof of it.''
``What's the delivery?'' The woman asked, as if that wasn't obvious.
``...'' Awassi sighed and motioned to his huge belly. It was big enough that he could be hiding a whole watermelon in there. ``This...?''
``Oh! Yes!'' The woman said, laughing again. ``Gimme a moment to talk to my boss and contact the lucky family. Then I'll let you right in!''
``H-hold on! I don't have-'' Awassi started, only to hear a click and some static. Yup, she was gone and here he was, with a growing litter. ``-the time... Shoot.'' He said as he leaned against the wall, looking up at the sunny sky. At least a few clouds had moved in, cooling down the otherwise seltering day. He jolted again, as he felt another sudden strong kick. ``Fffuck, you're gonna be big... Sorry, but I don't speak in baby kicks. Maybe I'll learn one day.''
So how long was the lady gonna take? It was probably just a few minutes, but it felt far longer than that. ``Ooh...'' He grunted as he was struck by another massive growth spurt. Forget watermelon, his belly was now the size of a ripe jackfruit! ``Come on, hurry up.'' He groaned, looking at the intercom... Then, as if by some divine intervention, it buzzed to life.
``Okay, Mr Stork! You can go on through.'' Came the old lady's voice.
``Oh thank you!'' Awassi declared, trying to stop himself from throwing his hands in the air in exasperation. He waddled back to the bike. ``Please don't be too big... Please don't exceed the weight capacity.'' He said as he sat down. His belly was almost touching the handlebars and dashboard, forcing him to lean back slightly; it didn't feel safe to be riding like this, but hey, it was just another block or two left. ``Okay... Let's get this show on the road.'' He said with a huff, as he drove past the gate and into the neighborhood.
It was about what he expected from a bougie gated community. Fresh cut lawns without much variety, the same suburban homes without much variation. A few people were in their yards, chatting, some were by their cars.
Awassi blushed as he received a few stares; although he would be lying to himself if he didn't feel a sense of pride. He was even tempted to say something like `yeah, it's real. Jealous?' but... He settled on ``Yeah, don't stare for too long... Unless you want to witness a show you won't forget.'' He said with a wince. ``Ah! Crap...'' A contraction?! Yeah, he was running out of time. But, with all the added weight, he couldn't speed too fast. Focusing on anything other than the contractions and movement of the litter, he counted the adress numbers. ``309... 310... 311... Ah!'' He grunted, feeling another contraction. ``312! That's it!'' He stopped the bike and carefully hopped off. Time to meet with the parents... now that he thought about it, he never bothered asking what the species of the parents and, by extent, what species he was carrying. He knocked on the front door. ``Knock knock...'' He said, trying to remember the slogan before the door was answered. One hand on the support beam to his right and the other hand supporting his belly, he uttered it out. ``Stork Deliveries! Here with your-Bundle-Ah... Bundles of... Oh... joy!''
A few seconds wait... and then the door finally opened.
``Oh...'' Awassi's ears perked up, staring at the woman in front of him.
She was a large ox. As the two made eye contact, she smiled widely. ``Oh! Honey! The `Stork' has arrived.''
Ox... Huh... That explains a lot...
``Oh?'' Came a voice, one that was so deep that Awassi could feel it vibrate his core. The bull stepped forward, the ground beneath Awassi's hooves shook. ``Well, come on in, lamb.'' He said with a proud smile. Awassi only stood up to the center of his chest.
Yeah... that certainly explained a lot: Calves are big.
Awassi gave a nervous chuckle. One of the effects of the growth formula was that it made birth easier but... Even this was going to be a trial. Then, he felt a strong contraction. ``Oh!'' he gasped, feeling a sudden release of pressure, as a puddle of liquid formed under him as his water broke. ``Uh... So... You guys have some towels and... Maybe a magazine...?''

3 days later...
After a much deserved three day weekend, Awassi hobbled to work. Sure, he was going back to work, but he was still feeling the aftershocks of all that. In his hand, he stared at a picture on his phone; the two happy parents, each of them holding a large calf. They stood next to a bed where Awassi lied. ``Not the most flattering photo.'' Awassi said, scratching his head, looking at himself in the photo. A look of pure exhaustion on his face, holding the third and largest of the three calves. ``Lesson learned... Read the dang contract... Contract before contractions.'' He gave a stretch, his eyes wandered around the lobby, until he noticed the Employee of the Month plaque on the wall, showing his picture. ``Oh...'' His eyes widened, as he looked around the room some more, spotting the sly glances from his coworkers, looks of pride, looks of envy. ``Heh... Well...'' He rubbed his belly, which was still on the pudgy side. ``Guess I have a promising career here...''
